1991 Acura Nsx Black/black-ivory on 2040-cars
Edgewater, Maryland, United States
1991 Acura NSX. This is an iconic "supercar" from the dark ages of performance. The japanese manufacturer took on Ferrari and the world in an attempt to build a "supercar" that could be used as a daily driver. They did that with the revolutionary nsx, with an aluminium monocoque chassis and a high revving VTEC engine as the starting point. Many unique and innovative features were used to create this car. Lots of information on the first generation NSX can be found on internet forums or local car clubs. The definition of supercar has changed since 1991, However these cars are still beautiful vehicles with unparralled reliability and an absolute dream to drive. This car has been driven but not abused. All service is up todate including timing belt and water pump. Original wheels have been replaced with replicas that were used on the original CART series nsx with tires that have about 3000 miles on them. The car has had 1 quality repaint to restore its black shine and gloss. The paint is not perfect, there is evidence of use with small chips on the front. The paint isn't perfect, but it isn't in need of paint or attention either. The front spoiler has been scuffed and worn with a small crease on each side. The seats are in excellent shape with no tears. The driver bolster has a "little" wear showing. The power windows are a bit slow, but function correctly. No known issues with the vehicle. Everything works including the original radio (integrated phone unknown). Clear title, accident free, well maintained, garage kept.

Honda demonstrates new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian safety tech [w/video]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We're fresh from a balmy rooftop deck in downtown Detroit, where Honda held a meeting this week to discuss and demonstrate a few upcoming advanced safety features. A clear focus of the mini event was the company's new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) technology, with a suite of Vehicle-to-Motorcycle (V2M) tech a significant second course.
With spirits still high from announcing the 2014 Odyssey as the first minivan to win the Top Safety Pick+ status from IIHS - and after seeing the application of new high-strength-steel sections of the Acura MDX body structure - Honda shared the fruits of some safety tech that is still in the research phase.
2014 Acura MDX Prototype is exactly what we expected
Tue, 15 Jan 2013Yep, it's the new MDX. And despite being totally redone, it looks exactly like we expected. That is, it's an up-sized version of the RDX crossover with fancy LED lights stolen from the RLX sedan. And while that might not sound too exciting, we have to say, it is handsome - certainly a more cohesive, refined design than the angular, beak-tastic model that's currently on sale.
Acura is calling this 2014 MDX a prototype, but that's only because it isn't 100-percent finished. Everything you see here will likely carry over to production, maybe with a couple small tweaks. Under the hood is the same 3.5-liter V6 that we know and love from the Honda group, and while we don't have power figures just yet, Acura says it will deliver more torque while improving efficiency. In redesigning the MDX, the Japanese automaker has managed to lighten and stiffen the chassis, improving driving dynamics. More interestingly, for the first time Acura will offer a front-wheel-drive version of the MDX, but don't worry, the automaker's SH-AWD all-wheel drive will be available.
Inside, the usual smattering of tech goodies will be on hand, including the next-generation AcuraLink system, satellite radio, tons of comfort amenities and every single alphabetic safety device known to man (okay, maybe not all of them).
MotorWeek remembers retro icons, Supra and NSX
Thu, 16 Oct 2014It's easy to poke a joke here and there about John Davis, the long-time host of MotorWeek. His voice is so monotonous that, from time to time, if you closed your eyes, you may think it's generated via a computer. But you have to give him and the rest of the show a lot of credit. The program has been on the air for decades, giving people direct, straight-down-the middle automotive reviews.
MotorWeek's massive back catalog of reviews are slowly making their way onto YouTube, and they provide a fascinating chance to look back on how performance cars rank against their contemporaries from back in the day. Two recent additions include the show's old looks at the 1986 Toyota Supra, the dawn of the third-generation model, and the now-iconic 1991 Acura NSX.
Both reviews are interesting in their own way. These days you hear nary a negative word about the original NSX, but MotorWeek isn't afraid to point out a few flaws. And the Supra really shows the progress of suspension tuning in the intervening decades because it has some serious body roll in the corners. Scroll down to check out both videos and get a blast from the automotive past.
