It is easy to see that this XC90 has been well cared for. The paint and body look amazing. The color is called “Magic-Blue Metallic” and it is a beautiful color! It looks so much better in person; no amount of pictures can do this color justice! The interior is also very clean. There are just a couple minor items to note otherwise it is a beautiful SUV inside and out. There is some wear on the interior trim by the driver’s seat that was likely caused by from how the previous owner got in and out of the vehicle and the interior door panel on the driver’s side rear door has a small hole in it. Both of these things are really minor but we try to be as thorough as possible! If you’ve never driven an XC90 before you are in for a treat. It is a very enjoyable vehicle to drive that is easy to maneuver on tight roads or in small parking lots. This XC90 is also designed to be very versatile and makes great use of the interior space which makes it the perfect family vehicle! This XC90 has the 3RD row seat that gives you room for up to 7 people total and if you need more cargo room than people room you can simply fold the 3RD row down and it is out of the way. The middle row seat also has an integrated child booster seat which saves you from having to constantly switch booster seats between more than one vehicle. This XC90 has a ton of safety features including “BLIS” which is a Blind Spot Information System that tells you if a car or motorcycle is in your blind spot! It also has a number of airbags and stability control to avoid rollover accidents. You just don’t find many vehicles that are as safe and good looking as this XC90! Carmakers, NHTSA to unveil auto-emergency braking agreement tomorrow
Wed, Mar 16 2016Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve. Tomorrow, there will be green beer, corned beef and cabbage, and automatic emergency braking for all. Weird combo, we know. But on St. Patty's we can expect an official announcement from a pact of automakers making auto-braking systems standard equipment by 2022. That's per a report from Reuters, which cites three sources familiar with the plans. Originally announced in September 2015 by 10 automakers and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the agreement is expected to be even larger when the details are unveiled tomorrow. According to Reuters, the manufacturers of 99 percent of the US domestic market's vehicles will be represented by the new agreement. It's believed that standard AEB systems could prevent thousands of accidents across the country. Expect more on the official announcement when it's made. Related Video:
Volvo 850 T5 R pickup conversion is ready for a cool yule
Mon, 10 Dec 2012There are plenty of ways to get your holiday tree home from the farm, but few are so classy as this Volvo 850 ute. Built in Sweden and shipped to Belgium, the car wears all of the necessary kit to pass as a 850R, and with a turbocharged 2.3-liter five cylinder under the hood, this creation should have no trouble dashing through the snow. Looks like a mighty fine use of an otherwise derelict Volvo wagon to us, though we have to imagine all that torque steer and no weight over the aft would make for all sorts of silliness once the roads went slick.
Still, if it were our Sawzall, we'd be happier with the keys to a certain BMW M5 utility in our pocket. Or, you know, the 3 Series conversion BMW whipped up not too long ago. You can head over to Autofans.be for a closer look at the 850 ute.
IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013
Wed, 02 Jan 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.
