2007 Volvo Xc90 V8 Sport Utility 4-door 4.4l on 2040-cars
San Antonio, Texas, United States
Hello and thanks for looking at my 2007 Volvo XC90 V8 for sale. I am the second owner of this vehicle and purchased it from the Volvo Center in San Antonio were I am a Master Volvo Technician. This vehicle has been to the dealer for every service and every problem it has had. It was a trade in and was in because one of the serpentine belt pulleys had become faulty and caused the front timing cover to be damaged. I replaced the front timing cover, the two idler pulleys, serpentine belt tensioner, valve cover gaskets, intake gaskets and serpentine belt to correct the problem and took some pictures of the process. This vehicle was family owned and smoke free. As i do with all the vehicles i purchase and sell i went over this vehicle and performed all necessary repairs to bring it to like new condition. it has had a Transmission flush service, coolant flush service, brake flush service, four wheel alignment, pollen filter replaced, air filter replaced, spark plugs replaced, rear brake pads replaced, left front seat panel switch replaced, right front seat switch panel replaced and a professional detail over the entire vehicle. The tires are at 75% tread and front pads are at 75% life left. If you are familiar with the Volvo product and the XC90 V8 you will know the major problems that occur around 90,000-100,000+ miles which are the front timing cover issue because of the faulty idler pulley, radiator will leak internally and intermix coolant into the transmission, power steering pump will leak and alternator issues. After going over the vehicles history stored at the dealership i have found that the radiator has not been replaced nor has the alternator or power steering pump. I inspected the pump and shows no sign of leaking and the alternator at the present time is charging at 14.5volts which is within specifications. I have a new radiator and plan on installing it so two of the major problems these vehicles have will be taken care of and this vehicle will be ready for another 100,000 miles. Now for the condition of the exterior there are some scuffs on the front passenger door and door dings on the moldings around the vehicle the right corner panel under taillight and right bumper corner have some damage which is cosmetic and can be repaired if need be. the interior has minor wear from use on the leather. Every component works in the vehicle power seats, windows, navigation, backup camera, home link sun visor, air conditioning, heating, radio and all lights and instruments. This vehicle is a seven seater and all rear seats fold properly and are in great condition. I have been driving this vehicle to make sure it operates properly and it drives great! if you are in the San Antonio area feel free to contact me and we can set up a time for you to test drive or if your from out of town as well. If you have any questions feel free to contact me as well.

2015 Volvo XC90 mule spotted testing in the snow
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The Volvo XC90 was a big step for the Swedish automaker in 2003, but the midsize crossover has changed very little since its introduction. All that's about to change as Volvo starts its initial development on the 2015 XC90, which we see for the first time in these spy shots showing a cobbled-together XC70.
Like the current XC90, the next-generation model will be both longer and wider than the XC70 - judging by the modifications made to this mule's body - which will continue to allow Volvo's flagship crossover and provide three rows of seating. The next XC90 will ride on a new platform that will eventually make up around two-thirds of all Volvo sales, called the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA).
Our shooter managed to find out the registration number for this mule, which indicated that it was powered by a five-cylinder diesel, but we expect the automaker to start stepping away from its current powertrains with a big push toward smaller engines courtesy of the new Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA). Rumor has it that the future engine lineup for the XC90 will rely heavily on turbocharged four-cylinder engines and eight-speed automatic transmissions, which will likely eliminate or lessen some of the current mills available like a straight-six or V8.
Volvo's product road map includes five EVs and two PHEVs
Mon, Feb 28 2022Volvo recently hosted a gathering in Miami for North and South American retailers. A few attendees, perhaps proud of what Volvo had to say, shared some details on the proceedings with Automotive News. Volvo's pledge to become an all-EV brand by 2030 will commence with five new electric vehicles and two plug-in hybrids in the coming years. First up is a full-sized, three-row crossover said to get its vibe from the Concept Recharge. We figure this will be the long-rumored and occasionally canceled XC100, but that's only an educated guess. We've seen no spy shots of such a vehicle yet, but AN reports sales aspirations for the full-sizer are about 20,000 units for next year. If that's the case, something should appear soon. Around two years after the potential XC100 comes an EV codenamed V546 that AN reported on earlier this month. Said to slot in between the 185-inch-long XC60 and 195-inch-long XC90, this tweener could be about the length of the 189-inch Ford Edge. The sources claim it will ride on a new electric platform, which could be the SPA2 bones that will support the coming electric XC90 and that the Concept Recharge electric crossover study (pictured) sits on. This one goes into production in the U.S., at Volvos' Ridgeville, South Carolina plant, and in China. The plan is to sell 100,000 units annually. At some point, the XC60 small midsize crossover gets a battery-electric variant. The fourth EV will be a dinky silent runner that slides in under the XC40 Recharge. Referred to in the past as the XC10, XC20 and XC30, previous reportage claims this will ride on the Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) sourced from parent company Geely. The fifth EV was only mentioned as being a sedan, which is another mysterious entry. The S90 and XC90 are getting new PHEV generations, the crossover still expected to inaugurate proper names to the Swedish automaker's lineup. Volvo's planning a hiring spree for the South Carolina plant that only makes the S60 sedan at the moment. One of the new EV crossovers will start down lines there later this year, along with Polestar's middleweight performance crossover, then the potential XC100 (or whatever its proper name is) begins assembly there in 2023. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Daimler and Volvo could jointly develop internal combustion engines
Sun, Jan 5 2020BERLIN — Luxury German carmaker Daimler and Volvo, owned by China's Geely, are considering cooperating to cut the costs of developing combustion engines, a magazine reported on Sunday, citing unnamed company sources. The Automobilwoche weekly cited a Volvo manager as saying there were initial talks with Daimler, but no concrete plans, while a company spokesman said it was too early to talk about firm projects, although it was not excluding anybody. A Daimler spokesman said the company's cooperation with Geely, which owns a 10% stake in the German carmaker, was developing in a positive way, but declined to comment further. Global tariffs, accelerated by a trade war between China and the United States, as well as higher investment requirements for electric and autonomous vehicles, are forcing carmakers to seek new ways to cut and share costs. In October, Volvo said it would merge its engine development and manufacturing assets with those of Geely, creating a division to supply in-house brands and also potentially others with next-generation combustion and hybrid engines. Automobilwoche said this new division would start operating by the end of March, which could be a possible starting point for cooperation with Daimler, while a further step could be a partnership to develop electric power trains. Geely and Daimler have said they plan to build the next generation of Smart electric cars in China through a joint venture and the two companies are also cooperating on a premium ride-hailing service in China. Geely bought Volvo Cars in 2010 from Ford, allowing the Swedish brand to operate on an arms-length basis. But in recent years, it has deepened cooperation between the two brands. Volvo already supplies engines to some Geely-branded vehicles, sharing technology through Geely's Lynk brand. Both companies share and develop common vehicle platforms.
