Stamford, New York, United States
For auction is this clean, well cared for 2007 Volvo XC90 equipped with 3.2 6 Cylinder engine, 6 Speed Automatic Transmission, and third row seating, priced to sell under book value. It has 146,550 miles on it. No rust, non-smoker, no dogs, and clean CarFax, which I have (two weeks old). All service and repair has been done regularly and professionally at either the dealer or a local, reputable shop. I am the second owner. I bought it at a Volvo dealer in 2009 when it had 27,000 miles on it and it was certified bumper to bumper out to 100,000. I have had no trouble with this car, and have stayed on top of all issues and maintenance. All systems are operable, and the a/c is cold. The Good: A clean, safe Volvo used as a commuter and for family transport. No city mileage, no trips to the dump. Clear NYS Title. Clean CarFax. The Bad: Some minor cosmetic body work needed in front due to deer hit a few months back that I never had repaired. Scratches on right rear, and an indented scratch on front right fender. Some expected chips, scratches, and wear and tear you would expect for a car this age. All shown in pictures. Car is sold AS-IS. For sale locally, so right to end early in case of sale is reserved. I can arrange shipping. Terms: Cash or bank check within 48 hrs. of auction close. Happy bidding !! |

Volvo recalls 460,000 cars worldwide for potentially deadly airbags
Tue, Oct 5 2021Volvo and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have released an expanded recall for just shy of 260,000 of its S60 and S80 sedans. Including those 260,000 cars in the U.S., the recall worldwide numbers about 460,000. The recall affects 2001-2009 S60s and 2001-2006 S80s, which have airbag inflators that could have degraded and could blast shrapnel into occupants. If that sounds familiar, it's because the monumental Takata airbag recall was for the same basic reason. But these Volvo devices aren't Takata airbags. Instead, these airbags were manufactured by ZF, the company that builds all varieties of automotive components but is probably best-known among car enthusiasts for their transmissions. The inflators use a material that, when exposed to high levels of moisture, can start to break down and form dust-like particles. These can ignite rapidly, more so than the component was designed for, which can cause the component to break and release metal shrapnel. According to the Associated Press, this material is different than the ammonium nitrate used by Takata. According to the NHTSA documentation, there has been one incident reported concerning the airbags, in which a person died. Volvo will replace all affected airbags at no charge to the customer. The replacement airbag apparently uses a different type of propellant, so it likely won't need to be replaced again. Dealers have already been informed, and owner notices will be going out at the end of November. If you have an affected Volvo, you can call 1-800-458-1552, and the recall number for Volvo is R10125. New Volvo ad remembers the joy of rear-facing jump seats
Mon, 19 May 2014With the rise in popularity of first the minivan and later the crossover as the default family vehicle, there have been about 20 years of children who have missed out on the joy of rear-facing jump seats in station wagons. It means kids today don't know the pleasure to be found in making faces or lewd gestures at other drivers while their parents can't see. Plus, they don't know the slightly nauseous feeling of watching the world pass by in reverse. However, a group of filmmakers look back with nostalgia at this increasingly uncommon automotive feature in a new ad for the 2015 Volvo V60.
As part of its sponsorship of the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, Volvo commissions a team each year to create an advertisement to be shown during the festival. This year's shows how the company's buyers have gone from riding in the back to driving the brand's cars. Scroll down to check out the charming ad, along with some wistful looks at classic Volvo wagons, before the jump seat is forgotten.
Volvo Concept XC Coupe leaked [w/video] [UPDATE]
Tue, 07 Jan 2014Last month, Volvo gave us a teaser of its new Concept XC Coupe, set to debut at the Detroit Auto Show. And now, just a few days before the doors open at Cobo Hall, leaked images of the stylish new crossover showcar have leaked online, courtesy of CarBuyer.co.uk.
The Concept XC Coupe is a sort of high-riding successor to the very attractive Concept Coupe that wowed us at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. With its burlier dimensions and hatchback configuration, the Concept XC gives us a better glimpse at Volvo's new styling direction, which is expected to debut in production form on the next-generation XC90 crossover. We've already seen some leaked sketches of the new XC90, and it sure does look like this Concept XC.
We don't have any further details about the Concept XC Coupe, but from the images, we can see that it will use a four-passenger seating configuration, with rear seats that fold flat. There are also exterior badges for surround radar and a 360-degree camera system, suggesting some new safety tech fitting of safety-minded brand.
