Up for auction we have a 2002 Volvo XC 70 wagon .
What I can tell you about this wagon is that it was traded in as a running and driving car shifting through the gears as it should with a smooth running Volvo engine . What has subsequently happened is it has developed a knocking noise under the car which is directly related to the drivetrain not the engine , it sounds like either a universal joint on one of the drive shafts has gone bad or my second guess would be the differential . We have not diagnosed it any further than that , it was out intention to clean it up and sell it on the lot for around $3500 however here it sits months later and we have done nothing about it so I have decided to clean house so to speak .It is drivable at low speed so you could drive it onto a trailer , I would not attempt to drive it home since the nocking noise started I have not driven it over 20 miles an hour .
It has been priced as a parts car which it would make an awesome parts car as most of the panels etc are in decent shape , rims look awesome , engine is clean , interior not bad although the front seats have split and I would consider buying 2 used seats or putting a seat cover over it . Electric windows appear to work .
Overall it is a car with a lot of potential for the right person , if you need an engine or parts it may be well worth parting out although if you are mechanically minded you may want to fix it up to you .
Please if you do not have the funds or want to make an offer please make sure you do have the money in hand as this is not a game to us as we are a small business and we rely on getting paid so we too can pay others we owe money to .
We will convey with clear Maryland title .
Please feel free to e-mail with any questions
WE CANNOT SELL THIS TO A MD RESIDENT AS IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT INSPECTED DUE TO THE KNOCKING NOISE

Polestar says goodbye to Volvo C30 in video tribute
Tue, 12 Mar 2013The Volvo C30 was put to its eternal bed a few months ago, but the tuners at Polestar have a little more eulogizing to do. The Swedish house of speed that has raced and reworked the little hatch since its introduction in 2006 wants the world to know what they've been through together, so it has encapsulated seven years of around-the-world action into three minutes and 28 seconds of track footage and champagne.
We're still waiting on word of a replacement for the funny little hatch, and while we lament what could have been, the video below proves that the C30 provided plenty of thrills for those outside of the US. And as you can read in our recent review of the Polestar-enhanced road-going C30, it provided a decent amount of fun for those of us in the States, as well.
Volvo: Tesla's Autopilot is just a 'wannabe'
Fri, Apr 29 2016Using the words "unsupervised wannabe" in an interview with The Verge, Volvo's Trent Victor says the Tesla Autopilot is "giving the impression it's doing more than it is." According to Victor, Tesla's self-driving tech is merely appearing to be autonomous because, with the Tesla system, the driver has to be fully alert all the time, ready to regain control. Tesla says its system is Level 2 autonomous, although some experts regard it as Level 3, which means it takes over safety-critical functions from the driver. Volvo says it pays more attention to actual crash avoidance, and that its Drive Me system is Level 4 autonomous, meaning that in the event of a hazardous situation the vehicle will handle the appropriate procedures and bring itself to a halt in a safe fashion. There will be no need for the driver to take action, which is important in case the driver has been incapacitated while the Drive Me autopilot has been controlling the car. Another thing with the Volvo setup is that it monitors the road in case of a conflict situation, or someone suddenly appearing in front of the car, be it a pedestrian or a runaway child. Tesla has never said that its Autopilot is anything other than a beta version under trial usage. It costs $2,500 when you purchase your Model 2 or X, or $3,000 as a add-on once you've taken delivery. The company also just announced that it would offer Autopilot for free as part of a one-month trial. Tesla declined to comment on Volvo's comment. Which car companies are creating new jobs in America?
Fri, Sep 22 2017Since January, automakers have announced investments totaling $9.5 billion in U.S. plants, creating or retaining more than 12,000 jobs. Some of those companies have yet to announce just how many jobs will be created given their investments, with the location of many of those jobs still to be determined. Specifically, the 4,000-job Toyota-Mazda joint venture plant still hasn't announced its location, with numerous states jockeying for it. Hyundai has plans to invest $1 billion but has not announced a jobs number yet. And likewise Ford is investing $1.2 billion in Michigan without specifying a number of jobs. Volvo this week announced plans to add a second line to its factory under construction in South Carolina, spending another $500 million and adding 2,500 jobs to the 2,000 it was already trying to fill. Then Thursday, Daimler announced a $1 billion expansion to its facility in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to produce EV batteries and electric SUVs, a move that will add 600 jobs to its hiring this year. Above, we've created a handy pie chart showing you which companies have announced new jobs and how many there will be.
