2002 Volvo XC70 Wagon.

Very Nice dark blue w/ta leather interior.
Very Clean. Tires are in excellent condition. Volvo battery is dead, does not hold a charge.  Non-smoker with very clean interior, no tears or rips in leather seats.  Everything works including dual power seats, radio, CD players, sunroof, rear wiper. A/C does not work.  Zero rust on the car. No apparent body work on the car. The body has a ding and a scratch here and there as pictured. a few small scratches on hood.
Please see photos, not very visible.  AWD works and the car is an excellent all season car.  Turbo engine with very good MPG AVG 22 combines and 27 highway.

Here is whats wrong with the car:
When i have the car running sometimes the odometer is dim, sometimes the TACH and SPEEDOMETER dont work. The trans Shifts sometimes. Sometimes it slips. Nobody around here is willing to mess with it.
No check engine lights. I think it has something to do with maybe the computer needs to get programmed?
stereo works, all power windows work.
The car is gorgeous but its more of a headache than i can deal with now

Please see photos as they are a big part of the description.  If you have any questions, or require any additional specific pictures, please ask.

Volvo pranks newest valet on the Italian Riviera

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Being a valet on the Italian Riviera seems like a pretty sweet gig for a young guy. Not only do you get to watch beautiful people coming and going all day and night, but there's the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a plethora of exotic sports cars. Of course, being responsible for those expensive vehicles has to be pretty nerve wracking to get used to on the first day.
In a new commercial, Volvo pranks a new valet at the San Remo Casino to see how he would handle a surprise showing up on the red carpet. If the look on his face in the screenshot above doesn't show it, he's pretty shocked by what he sees. We don't want to spoil the reveal, so just watch the ad to find out. Afterward, if you're interested in the details behind how Volvo made it happen, you can check out a short, making-of documentary, here.

Swedish man charged with spying on Volvo for Russia

Tue, Feb 23 2021

STOCKHOLM — Sweden has indicted a 47-year-old man suspected of handing information to a Russian diplomat, the Swedish Prosecution Authority said on Monday. The prosecutor said in a statement that the man, who was not identified, had worked as a consultant at several Swedish companies, where he had illegally obtained and sold information, placing the country's security at risk. Public service broadcaster SVT said the man was Swedish. "While a consultant at his former workplaces, I allege that he obtained material with the purpose of providing information to a foreign power, in this case Russia," prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist said. "The man was apprehended whilst meeting a Russian diplomat where he had just received 27,800 Swedish crowns ($3,360) from the diplomat." SVT reported that the man being charged had passed on information from automaker Volvo Cars and truckmaker Scania. A Scania spokesman confirmed that the man had worked as a consultant at the firm, while Volvo Cars declined to comment. The authority said the man had transferred material from computers to memory sticks as well as photographing the screen of his work computer, adding the crime could carry a sentence of up to six years in prison. "The crime is serious and, if convicted, the suspect could expect a lengthy sentence," Ljungqvist said.

Lotus could be sold to Chinese automaker Geely

Mon, Feb 20 2017

Two things are constant throughout the history of Lotus Cars: amazing vehicles, and financial struggles. Frequent changes in both ownership and leadership have left the company's future up in the air. And while the new management has improved quality and set a new product plan in place, its seems that Lotus could have a new parent company soon. Despite comments to the contrary, Chinese automaker Geely is rumored to be interested in acquiring Lotus Cars. The British automaker has been owned by Proton since 1996, but after Proton was sold to DRB-Hicom in 2012 investors suggested selling off Lotus. The Star Online reports that PSA in France is rumored to be looking at purchasing Proton cars from DRB-Hicom. In turn, Geely, the parent company of Volvo, is interested in purchasing Lotus from Proton. The report states that Geely has no interest in mass-market vehicles from Proton, while crossover-focus PSA, owner of Peugeot and Citroen, has no interest in a sports car manufacturer like Lotus. China has been encouraging its native automakers to purchase and acquire technology it lacks. Buying Lotus looks like it would benefit both companies. Lotus needs an influx of cash while Geely, looking to compete further on the global stage, would gain a great deal of technical and engineering knowledge from Lotus. Geely's stewardship of Volvo has been mostly hands-off, while giving the Swedish company enough money to invest in new platforms and technologies. If the same were to happen to Lotus, Colin Chapman's company could have its best years ahead of it.
