98 Station Wagon Suv Awd V70 Xc70 V70xc Cross Country Black Leather 98k Miles on 2040-cars
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States
98 Volvo wagon work/delivery/commuter wagon, very reliable and very safe. My nanny bought this last year and I loaned her the money and kept the title in my name. She drove my kids from LA to LV on a regular basis and not once was there any issue. She has since paid it off and has asked me to sell it for her. My knowledge of this car is relatively limited. I drove it today to the car wash, and then on the highway for 20-30 miles to run some errands. Solid and powerful engine, smooth transmission, suspension is stiff and tight. Surprisingly quick. No rattles or pulling or pulsating. Please keep in mind that it is 16 years old and is being sold with no warranty. As with any used car, please expect that it will need normal maintenance/repairs like any used car. We are not dealers or mechanics and below is everything we know about the car.
Last Year: -New front suspension - brakes, rotors, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, struts, and strut bushings. -New matching tires last year, 85% tread remaining -New timing belt and upper timing gear -New Volvo spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor -New fluids -21.5 MPG City, 26 MPG Highway -No smoking -No overheating -AC will need service to be cold again. Was not cold when she bought it. Mechanic charged it and it was cold, but he said there was a small leak. Sure enough, it's not cold anymore. -Scratches throughout and door dings from normal use plus there is a rust spot on the lower passenger door under the molding. -Right rear window doesn't go down -I bumped into the gas door while it was open and knocked it off. Have the door in perfect condition, but the 16 year old plastic clips that secure it broke. It needs the 4 clips snapped back in (no tools required) to fit back onto the quarter panel. Good power seats, sunroof, power locks, factory 3500 lbs tow hitch with wiring (hidden in boot), tinted windows, all lights (in and out) working, horn works, CD cassette deck works, heater is perfect, seat heaters work, and so on. The Private Party KBB values are: Excellent $5,106 Very Good $4,831 Good $4,731 Fair $4,281 My Price $3900 or best offer Email your best offer, we are flexible. Fast, direct, headache-free transactions go to the front of the line. Full payment due within 24 hours of auction close NO EXCEPTIONS. Payment due by bank to bank wire transfer or cash in person. Pre-purchase inspections are encouraged since all sales are final. If you are a CA buyer I am willing to have the car delivered to LA and provide a fresh smog certificate at no charge if I am paid in full first. We would meet at the Beverly Hills (Century City) AAA office with all the paperwork and transfer ownership on the spot. Thank you. |

Volvo joins Australia's V8 Supercars series [w/video]
Mon, 17 Jun 2013It was just a rumor, but now it's official, mates: Volvo will be joining the V8 Supercars series in Australia with an official team for 2014. Volvo is partnering with Garry Rogers Motorsport and its own Polestar tuning firm to create Volvo Polestar Racing.
A V8 engine will be produced by the Swedish arm of the racing effort, and will be supplied to the Garry Rogers team, which will get the whole shebang ready for the track. The outfit will be running two V8 Supercars "based on the production S60 road car." Considering that the S60 uses a range of transversely mounted engines with four, five or six cylinders (powering either the front or all four wheels) while the new race car will employ a V8 sending about 650 horsepower to the rear wheels, make that very loosely based on the production S60...
Volvo claims this is the first factory-backed entry in the V8 Supercars series from a luxury brand. We should note, though, that Mercedes-Benz is represented in the series with an E-Class sedan, but that outfit isn't quite an official entry from the car's German parents. In any case, you're encouraged to watch the teaser video and read the press release below for all the details.
Volvo V60 Polestar speeds into view
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Send us photos of a new wagon out testing, and you've got our attention. Send us photos of a fast wagon lapping the Nürburgring and, well, we're just as giddy as can be. Our spy shooters just blessed our inbox with some fresh shots of Volvo's new V60 wagon out testing in Polestar guise, sporting the same Rebel Blue paint job as the thunder-from-Down-Under limited-edition S60 Polestar, as well as an aggressive front fascia, huge wheels, Brembo brakes, a rear diffuser panel and a roof spoiler. Hello there, hot stuff.
Like its sedan counterpart, the V60 Polestar is expected to use a boosted version of Volvo's 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine, pumping out something like 350 horsepower. To keep everything in check, that force will almost certainly be sent to the ground via all-wheel drive.
It's unclear if Volvo will sell the V60 Polestar as a limited-edition affair for our friends in Australia, or if this longroof hot-hauler will be offered in other markets this time. After all, Volvo is bringing the V60 over to American soil early next year, so consider our fingers - and toes - crossed.
