Hello, for sale I have my 2001 Volvo V70 Cross Country wagon. This car is extremely clean due to living its entire life in Virginia. Car has been very well taken car of its entire life and shows it in its appearance. Within the past 5,000 miles it has had alot of time/money/and parts put into it consisting of: new tires ($650), new pads and rotors all the way around ($450), new drivers side axle ($180), new transmssion (with updated valve body, torque convertor and clutches) ($2,900). Also the timing belt and water pump were done around 85K. I am selling this car due to it recently developing an oil leak. When i took it to my mechanic he stated that it was due to a hose that controls the ventalation system in these cars, and I was quoted $450-$600 to fix. When car is cold it does not leak, but after about 3-4 min it will begin to drip about 1 drop per second. Mechanic said this was due to hose getting warm and expanding, allowing slice to open. My wife refused to put additional money into the car, so i bought her a new one and was told to sell this one. Car starts right up and is extremely quiet, engine does not make any noise, heat and a/c both work great. There are no warning lights on in dash board (never have been). Volvo to unveil permanent high-beam headlamp technology [w/video]
Fri, 01 Mar 2013Volvo will be showing off its Active High Beam technology at the Geneva Motor Show next week. The system will allow drivers to use their high beams all the time and adds another responsibility to the cameras mounted by the rearview mirror, making them detect traffic ahead, whether it be another car or a truck or motorcycle and in the same lane or oncoming. When a vehicle is detected, a special projector in the Xenon lamps can block out only the portion of the high beam that would impair the other driver. Volvo says the system is accurate down to a 1.5-inch margin around another object.
Active High Beam will be fitted to the Volvo S60, V60 and XC60 and we have to assume they mean the non-US versions of those cars. Audi has a similar technology that it calls "matrix beam lighting," and due to the way the US Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard code is written, such active control of high beams is verboten on cars sold here.
The Swedish brand also plans to present a collision-avoidance technology it's calling a "world-first." The press release below has more information and the accompanying video demonstrates the lighting tech.

Sun, Dec 17 2017This past week played host to a wide assortment of automotive news, highlighted by our first drive of the 2018 Volvo XC40. The Swedish crossover is targeted at young, successful Millennials, but it offers cool styling, fun dynamics, and all of today's must-have technology, so we think it ought to appeal to a much wider swath of the automotive marketplace. From there we answer the question, "What are hard on the outside and soft on the inside?" as we take a look at the next Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV. We expect the German automaker's flagship luxury SUV to remain boxy on the outside, but the interior is going to be soft, supple, and luxurious. And then there's the Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid, which starts at starts at $34,290 and boasts 212 total system horsepower, 232 pound-feet of torque, 47 miles of electric driving range, and a total range of 340 miles. EPA rates it at 110 MPGe in EV mode, and 44 city/40 highway/42 combined overall. We compare it to other plug-ins like the Chevy Volt and Toyota Prius Prime. And finally we have some more spy photos of the 2019 Ram 1500. It doesn't have a traditional crosshair grille, but it's got plenty of chrome and an attractive upright stance that's sure to tempt future truck buyers looking for some sophistication to go with their work gloves.
