You are bidding on 1998 Volvo V70 XC with a little over 132K. I purchased the car three months ago with every intention of making a daily driver. I have put well over $2500 in parts and labor plus the purchase price of $2300. Unfortunately, the car now has a blown head gasket that is estimated between $2500-$5000 from a local Volvo service department. I also priced a used engine around $2000 for parts and labor of which both options I can't invest. Nevertheless, I have completed the following upgrades:

New radiator
Radiator Hoses
thermostat
thermostat housing
new shocks and struts for the entire vehicle rear shocks were $600 because its the all-wheel drive wagon,
front brakes & rotors
Wheel alignment
new Spark plugs
oil change
battery

No major body damage for its age just paint chips and scratches. The passenger seat doesn't move and the rear seat auxiliary console isn't working. The windows were tinted but I had to remove for MD inspection and they still have glue affixed. Obviously, the vehicle isn't drivable so please don't request test-drives I have described to the best of my ability the major challenges with the vehicle and it is sold AS IS without any warranty. Im selling the vehicle with no reserve to the highest bidder. I am also selling vehicle locally and can terminate the auction at anytime. Volvo recommits to Sweden with development of next-gen platform and engines

Taking into account the facts that Volvo is now owned by China's Geely and how poorly the European automotive market has been recently, we would have definitely understood if Volvo moved production of its products out of its home market. And yet, the automaker has confirmed that it will be investing billions of dollars into new platforms and engines that will be made in Sweden. On a global scale, Volvo is making roughly $11 billion of investments, and close to half of that is being earmarked for Sweden for plant expansion and upgrades.
The new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform will be the used as the basis for most future Volvo products starting with the next-generation XC90 that will be debuting at the end of 2014. SPA will be used to make up two-thirds of Volvo's sales, and gives Volvo a quicker and easier break from Ford-derived platforms. As for the Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) family of engines, there are really no details about this mill except that it will be a four-cylinder that is more fuel efficient than current engines.

Volvo brings a whole new 2014 showroom for Geneva's approval

Sometimes it takes smaller automakers a bit longer than the industry average to rotate and freshen their product lineups. Volvo has taken a big swing for the 2014 model year in that regard, and has brought along a full product portfolio of new cars.
In the main, this means that the Swedish brand has fast-tracked facelifts for its already-attractive assemblage of sedans, wagons and crossovers. Volvo mainstays S60 and S80 have both gotten appearance modifications to freshen them for dealer lots, as well as added features inside the car. We're particularly happy to report that the spirited "60 cluster" models - S60, V60, XC60 - can now be had with optional paddle shifters on new, three-spoke steering wheels.
