2004 Volvo S 60 Turbo Awd on 2040-cars
Terre Haute, Indiana, United States
This is a great car I just no longer need, I never have time to drive it. Very comfortable smooth ride. New brakes, tires and oil. A few door dings here and there, about six I think. Two long scratches on the hood maybe 12" each. Rear drivers side bumper has a deep scratch about 8" long. The lower front bumper has a small crack in it and two pieces of plastic under the bumper/engine were also cracked do to a wrong turn in a snow covered parking lot which led to driving over what apparently was a mound of solid ice. Upon backing off the ice the plastic was tore and the bumper was cracked. The plastic piece on bottom was replaced cause it flapped at highway speeds. The bumper still looks fine. Also the lower bumper grille guard was replaced with a shiny mesh aftermarket part that looks nice. The drivers seat is showing minor wear and the flap over the cupholder is messed up. Occasionally the radio will change stations, but I normally listen to CD's anyway. It has a cassette player which is a joke it may as well be an 8 track. I've never used it and I don't know anyone that even owns a cassette tape. I guess if you've got some Willie Nelson or maybe some Jimmie Hendrix you're in luck. The car has a ton of highway miles, 204,000, but if I told you it had only 60,000 you wouldn't know the difference. Great car priced with the minor flaws in mind and I can also assist in shipping. I can trailer it to you if need be, but it will drive anywhere no problem. Very clean and non-smoker. Thanks

Volvo buyers have best credit scores among all auto shoppers
Wed, 02 Jan 2013Experian, the US credit reporting agency, recently concluded a study into the financing and credit scores of US car buyers. One of the prime findings was that Volvo buyers enjoy the strongest credit scores among new car shoppers from all brands (nota bene, these are Experian's own numbers and can differ from other agencies). Unlike the Forbes report on the same story, though, we don't find that surprising at all, nor do we think it necessarily helps Volvo's upscale brand aspirations. The Gothenburg-based carmaker has sold its wares on tank-like safety for decades, so it seems natural that its buyers would be just as safe with and attentive to their credit scores as they are with their choice of vehicle.
Audi was ranked fourth by consumer credit score, Porsche seventh and Mercedes-Benz ninth, yet the fact that Volvo outranks them in this metric is probably a plus to its bottom line but not necessarily its image. It's not unfair to say more people desire those other luxury brands - Volvo itself has admitted as much - and people in the throes of desire have been known to be a little more let-it-ride about things like credit scores. The differences aren't huge, though: compared to Volvo's 818, Audi shoppers scored at 813, Mercedes shoppers 802. Lexus and Acura intenders took the other two steps on the top-credit-scores podium.
Mitsubishi took the honors at the other end of the charts, Experian finding that its potential customers, with an average of 604, had the lowest scores. Mitsubishi was followed by Suzuki and Dodge. On the other side of the financing table, Toyota led the way in how many of its vehicles were bought with bank assistance, followed closely by Ford, Chevrolet taking third place. Also of note, and for whatever it's worth, not one automaker made both the 'top ten by financing' and 'top ten by credit score' lists, but four made both the financing and 'bottom ten by credit score' lists: Chevrolet, Nissan, Kia and Dodge.

Scratch that new crossover, Volvo teases ad campaign for XC60
Sun, 26 May 2013If we were to paraphrase the opening lines of Kenneth Graeme's Wind in the Willows for our own purposes, we'd write, "Have you heard about Volvo? They never planned a new crossover at all. It was all a horrid low trick of theirs...." To be fair, though, we can't blame them for our own presumption. When the Swedish car company created a site called LeaveTheWorldBehind.com and teased a couple of videos for some kind of collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, we thought the crossover in one of the teasers pointed to a new vehicle on the way.
Turns out that's not the case. It really is 'just' a collaboration with the band on a music video for Swedish artist Lune's cover of their 2009 song, Leave the World Behind.
But there are Volvos in it, and you can watch it below and hear original song alongside. We've also included the press release with more details on why it all came together, and a behind-the-scenes video on the collabo. To paraphrase Forrest Gump, "That's all we have to say about that."
