2002 Volvo S60 2.4t Awd ----- No Reserve ---- One Owner - Dealer Serviced on 2040-cars
Pineville, Pennsylvania, United States
This is a 2002 Volvo s60 2.4T AWD Platinum Green with tan leather. Approximately 185,000 miles. Matching Michelins that will pass PA inspection. Non smoker. One owner. Driven by my wife then I drove it for a couple years. Never let us down it was a good car. You can easily make this into a driver or chop it up for parts - I'm not sentimental about it. Body- It has a couple dents - one by the sunroof front lip [the sunroof works fine and has never leaked]. One on each side on the doors. There is a scratch on the trunk deck. Never hit or in any accidents except for a brick thrown off an overpass that made the dent in the roof. There is a little surface rust on that dent. No rust anywhere. I was changing the wiper blades before taking it for this years' inspection, the arm slipped out of my hand and cracked the windshield. It needs a windshield. Otherwise it would have a fresh inspection. Mechanical - The struts and strut mounts and steering gear and A-Arm bushings have all been replaced and the car is tight. The transmission and flywheel were replaced by the dealer. The timing belt is OK but is probably due [?] Passenger side rear taillight is cracked and there is a scratch in front of it. Please carefully review pictures. It needs a good cleaning and a once-over but this was always a really well maintained car. Needs a new battery. Inspected last year. Driver's seat seam is split. leather needs a good scrubbing. Other - Typical for this volvo, when replacing the battery, the airbag light was triggered. Since it is a Volvo, only a dealer can reset it. I'm not putting a battery in it or doing anything else to it - it starts at a dollar and sells to the high bidder. It will start and run and passed inspection no problem in 2012 with 183053 miles. I only drove it a couple times since then [maybe 50 miles tops]. Seems I'm too used to driving my pickup or just am not a two car kind of person. Sale terms- Plan to bring a trailer or arrange shipping - it has been sitting and I'm not a notary so don't figure on just hopping in it and driving away. Title will not be kept open and must be changed before it leaves - $50 document fee will be charged. $500 deposit by paypal within 24 hours, payment in full within 3 days or will be relisted. Sells as-is where-is no warranty no returns F.O.B. 18946 On Jan-26-14 at 18:14:34 PST, seller added the following information: Couple additional points: I have one of the original factory remote controls for this car [I'm 99% sure I have both but I can only remember where one is right this very second] and I wanted to clarify that at least one remote is included. Also, this car is 100% original paint, never touched up anywhere, no bondo no bodywork ever. It does currently have a couple dents shown in pictures and description. |

Jeremy Lin's new Volvo has him working out with the XC60
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Jeremy Lin rose to prominence as a point guard for the New York Knicks in February of 2012 when he came out of nowhere to lead the team to a string of victories. Volvo was quick to notice and signed him as the company's US spokesperson that March. Since then, he has starred in several Volvo advertisements, and his latest ad shows just how he uses his Volvo XC60 to train for the court. The highlight is Lin shooting free throws out of the sunroof.
Since leaving the Knicks, Lin has lost some of the visibility and hype that attracted Volvo to him in the first place. Still, commercials must be made, so check out Lin's latest below.
Volvo fires up S60 and V60 Polestar production
Mon, 30 Jun 2014We were pretty smitten with the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar models during our First Drive in Sweden a few months ago. We especially loved the way that its Öhlins adjustable dampers offered a perfect balance between suppleness and sporty handling. Now, the rest of the world will finally be getting the chance to take the Polestar models for a spin because Volvo is shipping out the first units of the limited-edition vehicles.
Their completion marks the first time ever that Polestar-tuned models have come off the line at Volvo's Torslanda factory. However, production of the 350-horsepower hatchback and sedan is very limited. Volvo is building a total of just 750 of them for the world market, and the US is only getting 80 wagons and 40 sedans.
In addition to the cutting-edge dampers and more powerful engine, both Polestar models benefit from a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system routed through a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters and launch control. Six-piston Brembo calipers bring things to a halt, and the limited models get unique front and rear fascias and 20-inch wheels. These are two very hot Swedes, and if rumors are right, then there are even more tuned Volvos from Polestar on the way. Scroll down to read the full announcement.
Car dealers, factories and ports close in the path of Hurricane Florence
Thu, Sep 13 2018Hurricane Florence has caused CarMax to close four stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The closed locations are in Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Winterville and Virginia Beach. It is possible for the company to close more stores, reports Automotive News. Daimler and Volvo have also shuttered their manufacturing facilities in the region to prepare for Florence. The storm is expected to reach North Carolina and South Carolina today or tomorrow. Automotive News says every coastal car dealer it reached on Tuesday was closing, and others not in the projected landfall area were monitoring the situation. There are approximately nine million vehicles in operation in the area that Florence is expected to hit, with a vehicle density of 162 vehicles per square mile. It is likely that not as many vehicles will be lost as during hurricanes Harvey and Irma, as population is less dense; areas affected by those storms had over 300 vehicles per square mile. The chief economist of Cox Automotive told Automotive News that some 20,000 to 40,000 vehicles could end up flooded if Florence keeps its path; however, recent reports have indicated Florence has weakened to a category 2 hurricane on Thursday. Tesla has again unlocked more range for some of its older models to make evacuation easier; the same was done a year ago in preparation for Hurricane Irma. As well as automotive manufacturers and dealers, automotive transport providers are readying for the storm and clearing cargo away. The container and auto terminals at Port Charleston will be closed from Thursday to Saturday, affecting part shipments to the BMW manufacturing facility in Spartanburg; BMW's spokespersons have said no production disruption is expected. Parts are delivered via railroad to Spartanburg by Norfolk Southern, which is also suspending operations for the time being. Vehicle hauler United Road has moved its rigs to safer regions and suspended deliveries, and car carrier vessels are trying to make it away from the storm's path in time.
