Item Description

Up for auction is a 2000 Volvo S40 that was recently donated to a national charitable foundation and is being sold with NO RESERVE.

The vehicle is equipped with a 4cyl engine and automatic transmission. The odometer shows 195,149 miles. It’s fairly well equipped with most of the options. The seats are gray and appear to be in decent condition, although a good detail will make a huge difference. The exterior of the car is white and is showing signs of wear and is faded. It has a few door dings and scratches. The tires appear to HAVE ROUGHLY 30% road life left. Please refer to the photos included in this auction for more description details.

This vehicle runs rough but does NOT drive.

o $75.00 for vehicle under $1,000

o $100.00 for vehicles over $1,000 and $50.00 for every $1,000 thereafter

· Vehicles not paid for in full within three (3) days of end of auction will be subject to a penalty of $50.00 plus $20.00 PER DAY in storage fees (storage fees are not negotiable and must be paid prior to release of vehicle).

· Vehicles not paid for within one week of end of auction will result in buyer’s privileges revoked and vehicle to be relisted on ebay.

Swedish man charged with spying on Volvo for Russia

STOCKHOLM — Sweden has indicted a 47-year-old man suspected of handing information to aÂ Russian diplomat, the Swedish Prosecution Authority said on Monday. The prosecutor said in a statement that the man, who was not identified, had worked as a consultant at several Swedish companies, where he had illegally obtained and sold information, placing the country's security at risk. Public service broadcaster SVT said the man was Swedish. "While a consultant at his former workplaces, I allege that he obtained material with the purpose of providing information to a foreign power, in this caseÂ Russia," prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist said. "The man was apprehended whilst meeting aÂ Russian diplomat where he had just received 27,800 Swedish crowns ($3,360) from the diplomat." SVT reported that the man being charged had passed on information from automakerÂ VolvoÂ Cars and truckmaker Scania. A Scania spokesman confirmed that the man had worked as a consultant at the firm, whileÂ VolvoÂ Cars declined to comment. The authority said the man had transferred material from computers to memory sticks as well as photographing the screen of his work computer, adding the crime could carry a sentence of up to six years in prison. "The crime is serious and, if convicted, the suspect could expect a lengthy sentence," Ljungqvist said.

Volvo won't entirely give up on sedans and station wagons

Volvo, like an overwhelming majority of its peers and rivals, sells more SUVs and crossovers than sedans and station wagons. It confirmed plans to pivot away from low-riding models in 2021, but it stressed that it's not ready to throw in the towel in either segment quite yet. "Yes, the [V and S lines] will be replaced with something even more attractive to customers," affirmed company boss Hakan Samuelsson in an interview with British magazine Autocar. His comments come as a relief for Volvo wagon fans around the world, given that in 2021 he had said that the company needs "to move [on] from wagons and sedans." There's a catch, though: Future V and S models will look quite different than today's. Samuelsson (who will step down from his position in March 2022) acknowledged that Volvo needs lower-riding cars but noted that their design will evolve and become "maybe a little less square." It's not just about style, either. "Cars will be less boxy in the future, when we need to have lower air resistance. You could call it coupe-ish. We talk a lot about range in electric cars, but I think we will start looking at energy efficiency, and of course air resistance will be very central to that," he said. It helps that sleeker designs help keep buyers interested in sedans. Volvo's S90 and V90 were introduced and 2015 and 2016, respectively, so they're expected to be replaced in the not-too-distant future. One point that's still up in the air is what they'll be called. The Swedish company is preparing to ditch its alphanumerical naming system in order to give its cars an actual name, so both nameplates will die with the current-generation models. We'll have a better idea of what the future has in store when the XC90's replacement arrives later in 2022 with a new name, a new architecture, and a large serving of new technology. Top torque-to-weight ratios under $100k, $50k and $25k

Horsepower may steal a lot of headlines, but the always-more-complex torque figure is often a critical one for both the workingman and the motoring playboy. The measure of rotational force represents the twist that can liquefy one's tires or haul one's horse trailer. Good stuff.
It follows then, that as with the horsepower-to-weight list that we assembled for you a few months ago, a list of cars that offer the most pound-feet with the fewest pounds to carry, is an interesting one to break down. Sure, there's a big difference in how the torque is applied from a turbocharged six-cylinder in a Swedish luxury sedan and a massive heavy-duty truck's turbo-diesel. But being the car/stat geeks that we are, we think it's kinda neat that those two vehicles rank near each other where torque and weight intersect.
As with the horsepower list, we've given you figures as pounds per every one pound-foot. Again broken down into broad price categories, we've got a mixed bag of 2014 and 2015 models here, too. Every effort has been made to select the most up-to-date prices and specs, and we've also to omitted some '14 cars that won't be re-upped after the ongoing yearly changeover.
