I am selling this for a friend. This Volvo is a very nice car. Let the pictures tell the story. You can see from my feedback that I hide nothing. 71586 miles, lady owned. The driver's seat shows some wear on the outside bolster. There is some slight scuffing on the driver's rear side of the bumper. The driver's door molding has a chip out of it that has been touched up. Again, let the pictures tell the story. The front tires have 8/32 and the rears have 9/32. The front brakes have 80% left and the rears have 65% left. The tires do have some feathering on the edges which causes some road noise. This car is above average. Drives out nice, no oil leaks, the top works perfect. Finances force sale but she has paid off loan and title is clear. The car does have a warranty that is transferrable. Volvo agrees to transfer tech to new parent Geely
Tue, 11 Dec 2012Following the acquisition of Volvo by China's Zhejiang Geely Holding Group in 2010, we definitely saw this news coming. The two companies have signed an agreement that will give Chinese automaker Geely access to key technologies developed by Volvo, and in turn, the deal could help the Swedish automaker lower its production costs.
As a part of the "technological cooperation agreements" signed by both companies, Automotive News China reports that Geely will be able to tap Volvo for three much-needed technologies, including the use of a midsize platform, Volvo's proven safety innovations and interior air quality systems. The latter two technologies are important to improve the crashworthiness of Geely's cars, along with helping isolate vehicle occupants from China's often severe air pollution. The report says that Volvo tech will likely be used on a premium car brand that Geely is expected to create.
Volvo, on the other hand, is to benefit from the "local market exploration experience and cost control experience" of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, which is technical way of saying that Volvo will be able reduce its costs by tapping into Geely's established supply chain.

Thu, 27 Dec 2012We all know how safe Volvo cars are, but a European junkyard has decided to put it to the test by crashing, jumping and rolling the life out of an 850 wagon. While government tests use automated systems to crash new cars, the guys in this video do so with a driver behind the wheel. Aside from what looks like a safety harness and roll bar for the driver, it seems like this car is otherwise bone stock.
Not wanting to spoil the fun for you, we'll just point out that at the start of the video, our hero car looks pretty flawless, and by the end, well, let's just say the Craigslist ad for the car would say "needs some body work."
