2013 Volvo C30 - Brand New Car W/ 6 Miles - Salvage Title - No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Brighton, Michigan, United States
This car was purchased damaged from the insurance company from a New Car Volvo Dealer in New York from the Sandy floods. It was a new car never titled that was flooded on their lot. I bought a couple of cars and I am driving one of them, my job changed and I never had the time to fix this car. It has been sitting in my garage for about 18 months untouched. The car still has all of its plastic shrink wrap on it, plastic disk rotor protectors etc. (see pics), window sticker etc. I bought the car not running which is common due to electrical issues that need to be tracked down and fixed, sometimes as easy as bad fuses other times you will need to replace computers etc. When I first took delivery of the car I drained the oil and trans fluid (replaced fluids), pulled the spark plugs and cranked the engine by jumping the starter solenoid - no issues or water in the motor. If you haven't picked it up yet - THIS CAR DOES NOT START / RUN RIGHT NOW. The dash says "Key error Try again" I have never hooked a computer to it or taken it anywhere to do that, I just don't have any time to spend on it. Most electrical items don't work ie radio, windows, seats etc. once again until the electrical is sorted out this common. The window sticker cost was $31,000+ so you can buy for approx. 1/3 of original cost. You are buying it AS IS, NOT RUNNING, NEEDING TO BE TOWED AWAY. I have a Michigan Salvage title in hand for the car that can easily be converted to a Re-Built title when the car is running. You can call me at (248) 470-8793 with questions. |

Volvo studying test of electric roads in Sweden
Tue, 27 May 2014Volvo already announced the results of a study of wireless charging using a stationary C30, and now it's embarking on a more ambitious study of wireless charging involving moving city buses. Next year, in conjunction with the Swedish Transport Association, Volvo will build a section of electric road up to 500 meters long that would use inductive charging to refill the batteries while the bus drives over it.
Right now, the company's Hyper Bus diesel hybrid has to stop to plug in and charge at the end of its route. The company is looking for a way to keep buses in service while being able to run on electric power for greater lengths of time. The new line used for the study will be called ElectriCity, and will come online in central Gothenburg sometime in 2015. There's a press release below with more information.
Volvo working to allow groceries delivered to your car, even when you aren't there
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Volvo cites research showing that 60 percent of online shoppers had problems with their deliveries in 2013, and that missed first deliveries cost the industry roughly one billion euros ($1.37B US) in re-delivery costs, as impetus for its "Roam Delivery Service" that delivers packages to your car. The service uses Volvo On Call and Sensus Connect car-connectivity and telematics apps already installed in vehicles, and a digital key with a timed window of operation.
The car owner is notified if delivery to or pickup from the car would be the best option, which they then have the option to approve or decline. If approved, the position of the vehicle is sent to the delivery driver, as well as a digital key that can open the car. Once the delivery has been made, the owner is notified and the digital key is erased, leaving only a time stamp to record when the car was opened and then locked.
The technology will be shown to the public at the Mobile World Congress later this month. There's a video and a press release below with more on the details.
Volvo aiming for a stock IPO by the end of 2021
Thu, Jul 1 2021Volvo Cars is "making good progress" toward a potential initial public offering by the end of this year, the chief executive of the Swedish premium auto brand told Reuters on Wednesday. "We are looking at the possibility of doing an IPO before the end of the year," listing shares on the Nasdaq Stockholm exchange, company CEO Hakan Samuelsson said in an interview. Samuelsson and other Volvo executives on Wednesday laid out an extensive road map to becoming a fully electric car maker by 2030, including plans to sell 600,000 battery electric vehicles at mid-decade and build a European battery gigafactory in 2026. Volvo earlier this year scrapped a proposed merger with the company's Chinese parent, Hong Kong-listed Geely Automobile. In March, Geely said Volvo would explore capital market options, including an initial public offering and stock market listing. Many startups have gone public in the United States and China over the past two years, following electric vehicle market leader Tesla Inc in taking advantage of investor enthusiasm to raise cheap capital to compete with established brands such as Volvo. Samuelsson said Volvo and Geely will continue to share vehicle architectures, internal combustion powertrains and other components. But the companies will do so at "an arm's length distance," consistent with the way independent companies do business, he said. During Wednesday's briefing, Volvo also said it plans to equip many of its future vehicles with self-driving technology, including standard lidar sensors from Luminar Technologies Inc and computers from Nvidia Corp. "Our goal is to build the safest cars possible, using all available technology," Samuelsson said. As it launches new electric vehicles, Volvo also plans a slew of related products, including insurance and vehicle subscription payment plans offered directly by the automaker, Samuelsson said. "The whole vehicle business will be recurring revenue," Samuelsson said. In Europe, the company plans to change its retail operations so that customers order new electric vehicles directly from the manufacturer, with dealers paid commissions to deliver them, Samuelsson said. In the United States, where laws protect existing dealers, Volvo will still sell vehicles through franchised retailers. For its future electric vehicles, Volvo is working with Swedish partner Northvolt on a new generation of batteries with higher energy and designed to be packaged as a structural element of the vehicle.
