I bought the car for my wife but got something bigger due to a baby on the way, we no longer need the car so it has to go. I bought the car wreck and I have most of the work done to it full paint job, replace front end, but it still needs around $3,500 on parts and labor to finish the car my loss is your gain I have spent a little over $8,900 on it till now, but my reserve is lower than that just need it gone. It runs GOOD MOTOR AND TRANSSMISSION. This are a list of a few things that it needs. Seat belts, driver airbag, right front seat air bag and seat need to be fix due to air bag deploying, rear bumper, front bumper, headlights, two wheels due to damage, positive and negative cables for battery due to being cut in accident, plastic cover for engine and other plastic parts by engine and other parts as picture shows, this is by no means an easy fix, it needs time and money to be put into it. Volvo shows off 345-hp S60 and V60 Polestar
Thu, 06 Feb 2014We showed you the hot, new Volvo V60 Polestar a few months back and raved about the fact that this long-roofed family car can hit 60 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. Now, we're seeing it and its four-doored brother, the S60 Polestar sedan, in person for the first time.
As we told you when the V60 Polestar was unveiled, both cars are motivated by a 3.0-liter, turbocharged six-cylinder that generates 345 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, with peak twist arriving between 2,800 and 4,750. Power is channeled to a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system via a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and launch control.
Both Polestar models benefit from a suspension that features Öhlins shocks, while they ride on 20-inch "bespoke" wheels. Six-cylinder Brembo calipers clamp down on 14.6-inch rotors in front, meaning these Volvos should come to a stop as quickly as they get going.
Volvos will brake for bicyclists with new detection technology
Thu, 07 Mar 2013Anyone who pedals a bicycle knows that one of the biggest dangers to riders is a motorized vehicle - Volvo estimates that nearly 50 percent of all cyclists killed in European traffic have collided with a car. In the United States alone, 618 riders lost their lives in bicycle/motor vehicle crashes in 2010, and the number of injuries surpassed 52,000.
To help drop those numbers, Volvo has just announced Cyclist Detection with full auto brake - a technology that detects and automatically applies a vehicle's brakes when a cyclist swerves in front of a moving car. The basic components of the system include a radar unit integrated into the front grille, a camera fitted in front of the interior rear-view mirror and a central control unit. The radar is tasked with seeing obstacles in front of the vehicle and calculating distance, while the camera is responsible to determine what the object is. The central control unit, with rapid processing capabilities, monitors and evaluates the situation.
The technology, which will be sold bundled with its Pedestrian Detection and called Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, will automatically apply full braking when both the radar and camera confirm a pedestrian or cyclist are in the immediate path of the vehicle. According to the automaker, the technology will be offered on the Volvo V40, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 models from mid-May in 2013.
