This is a 1996 Volvo 850 "R" with 291,968 miles on it. It is in very good condition. The only thing not working at this time is the air conditioning. The car has power windows, power locks, a power moon roof, cruise control, seat heaters, power mirrors, rear area cover that retracts, power seats for driver and passenger. AM-FM stereo with cassette and CD, enhanced stereo as part of the "R" package. The "R" designation means that this is a Porsche designed performance package automobile. It has a computer chip that gives the turbo extra boost. It develops 243 horsepower. The wheels are 17" diameter spoke wheels. The upholstery has suede inserts. The door panels are leather trimmed. The dash has a dark walnut / beryl looking trim accent.
The car has been Extreme Dynamat lined for sound deadening. Inside the doors are lined, as well as the rear tire well. It was done before I got the car and I am not sure where else is lined.
This car is smooth and powerful. Just a tap of the throttle sails you up to highway speed when entering an on ramp. The tires are in near new condition. The brakes are new. It has a new front wheel hub. It has a new catalytic converter. It has a new timing belt, installed 1000 miles ago. It is registered in California until May of 2014. It has a fresh smog check done this week. The stereo works very well. It has a bit of turbo lag that can be adjusted out I have been told. As long as you roll on the throttle easily, you will never notice it. The upholstery is in very good condition. The roof of the car has been repainted. The color matched the alloy wheels. It has a factory roof rack.
Call me to make a direct deal at 760-481-8710. If we can make a deal before 12 hours are left on the auction I can close down this auction. It is being advertised locally and may be closed as soon as I can make a deal.
I would consider a trade for an inboard / outboard ski boat with an open bow and a V-6 engine.

Verizon buys Telogis in connected vehicle market push
Wed, Jun 22 2016(Note/disclaimer: We are owned by Verizon, by way of AOL. This gives us no inside track whatsoever when it comes to news.) With a lot of tech companies and automakers staking their claims in the connected car space, now there are signs that others are looking to move in, too. Today, telecoms giant Verizon announced that it is acquiring Telogis, a California-based company that develops cloud-based solutions for mobile workforces, and specifically telematics, compliance and navigation software used by Ford, Volvo, GM and other car companies, as well as Apple and AT&T. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, although we'll try to find out. Considering that Verizon in 2015 reported full-year revenues of $131.6 billion, the price would have to be very high to be considered "material" and may not be made public for some time, if ever. Telogis in its time as a startup raised a substantial amount of money, just over $126 million in all, including $93 million in 2013, supposedly ahead of an IPO, all from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Back in 2013 when KPCB made its investment (which was the first from a VC firm in the company), Telogis told TechCrunch it was profitable and forecasting revenues of $100 million annually for the year. It's not clear what size those revenues are now, but if it was on the same growth trajectory as before the funding, sales would be around $150 million annually, with profitability, at the moment. Other investors include some very notable strategics: the investment arm of General Motors, and Fontinalis Partners, which also invests in Lyft and was co-founded by Bill Ford, the executive chairman of the Ford Motor Company. Before the acquisition, Verizon actually had a business in fleet management and telematics; in fact, the two companies competed against each other for business from the trucking and other industries. Verizon Telematics, as the business is called, is active in 40 countries. But in a way, Verizon buying Telogis is a sign that the latter may have proved to be the more superior, and the one with the key customer deals.
Volvo V60 Polestar is one hot hauler
Tue, 26 Nov 2013Earlier this year, Polestar jumped from the racetrack to the showroom with its own take on the Volvo S60 sedan. And given the similarity and the proud history of hot Volvo wagons, not to mention the spy shots and teasers, we knew it would only be a matter of time before Volvo's racing partner would return with a similar take on the V60. And that's just what it's done.
Powering the new Volvo V60 Polestar is the same 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six as the sedan, driving 350 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission and Haldex all-wheel-drive system. Hitting 62 miles per hour reportedly happens in the same 4.9 seconds as the sedan, on its way to a stop speed of 155 mph.
The power upgrades come courtesy of a twin-scroll Borg Warner turbocharger, intercooler and overhauled exhaust system. Other upgrades over Volvo's own R-Design model include stiffer springs, Öhlins shocks, 20-inch wheels, Brembo brakes and a full aero kit, not to mention an upgraded cabin from which to command the performance.
VW ID.4, the new Buick Envision and crossing Hyundai's N Line | Autoblog Podcast #668
Fri, Mar 5 2021In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd. It's a review-packed episode this week, but it kicks off with a discussion of Volvo's plans to electrify by 2030 and move their EV sales online. From there, they get into Greg's time with VW's game-changing new ID.4 electric crossover. Byron then talks about his time with two very different new vehicles: the 2021 Buick Envision luxury crossover and the 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line, which may or may not be a sport sedan. Finally, they tackle a fascinatingly complex twitter question: What is the best 'economy' muscle car?
