First the bad news: The car is currently NOT running.  It was my daily driver until a heater hose blew out on the highway (heater core was bypassed) and overheated the engine and snapped the timing belt.  The cylinder head is warped and the valves are most likely bent.  The cylinder head needs to be replaced and or machined and rebuild.

Now for the good news. Other than the engine not running the car is in good cosmetic condition. Paint is fine with a few blemishes, there is a 3/4" x 1.5" area with rust bubbling up under the paint on the side of the roof (see photo).  The windows, sunroof, radio, automatic transmission and other electrical components were working fine when the car overheated.  The air conditioner did work, however it would only run on full blast, not sure why.  The interior is in good shape considering its a '95.  The leather seats are worn, however there are no major holes in them, just normal expected wear and tear.

With a new cylinder head this would make a great safe and reasonably fuel efficient (21-23mpg) daily driver. I was planning on driving this 850 for many more years, over 300,000 miles, unfortunately, the blown heater hose prevented that.  Would also make a good parts car...lots of good parts on this one.   4 speed automatic transmission with sport mode, power sunroof, power windows, tinted windows, 15" alloy wheels, tilt wheel, cruise control, power driver seat, front and side air bags.  New front & rear brake pads 900 miles ago, recently replaced motor mount.

Keep in mind this car is not running and you will need a trailer to haul it away.  I can deliver it to a location in Melbourne, FL & NW or NE Palm Bay, FL for an additional $75.  I'm not able to deliver very far from 32901, if you are slightly further out we can discuss a delivery price.  Full payment (car and delivery) must be made before delivery.

Volvo Polestar celebrates STCC title with Black R edition S60, V60 and XC60

Sat, 21 Dec 2013

The relationship between Volvo and Polestar was forged - and forges deeper still - on the racetrack, where the latter fields the former's tin-top entries in the STCC, WTCC and V8 Supercars. And based on their success together in touring-car racing, Volvo has had Polestar amp up a number of its production road cars. What we have here is the latest.
This year Volvo and Polestar dominated the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, taking both the drivers' and manufacturers' titles. So to celebrate, Polestar has rolled out a new Black R package for the S60 sedan, V60 wagon and XC60 crossover.
The package includes an upgrade to 329 horsepower for the T6 engine and to 230 hp for the D5, and further enhances with special wheels, a dropped suspension, special sport seats and more. Unfortunately the package is only being offered in Sweden, but you can scope out the details in the press release below and the photos in the gallery above.

Turn up your speakers for this Shelby-powered Sunbeam Tiger and friends

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

Most of us are never going to be like Jay Leno and drive a new car every day. However, it's possibly affordable to collect a handful of vintage rides, especially if you look a touch off the beaten path. In recent video, Petrolicious highlights Hans Abrahams, who is doing just that. He has three 1960s, European classics that love to be driven.
The absolute star of the trio is a 1966 Sunbeam Tiger. In the cabin, it has the meaty growl of a muscle car, but outside it has a little of the raspiness of period European cars. Abrahams says its mostly original except for its Ford 289-cubic-inch (4.7-liter) V8 with Shelby parts, producing around 273 horsepower. He says it's a bit difficult to maintain and hard to keep cool, but when you hear it, you know the trouble is worth it.
Next up, is Abrahams' 1965 MGB that is a bit of a monster in its own right. It lacks the Tiger's oomph under the hood, but it's loud enough to blow out Petrolicious' microphone. It's still a very cool little roadster.

Next-generation Volvo XC90 interior revealed

Tue, 27 May 2014

Volvo has officially kicked off the slow burn that will lead to the eventual unveiling of the next-generation XC90, in August. Its initial foray into the public eye will be with these, a series of 20 images of the new three-row SUVs interior, which is very, very Swedish (there are even the most adorable little Swedish flags on the seats).
In all, it looks like a positively sumptuous place to sit, with sharp looking woods and a crystal shifter, crafted by Orrefors Glassworks in Sweden. It's a clean, minimalist design that we imagine will age quite nicely.
Featured quite prominently - and the main part of the cabin that doesn't strike us as minimalist - is the very large touchscreen. Aligned in a portrait layout, which hasn't been done by too many automakers, it will be home to a new type of infotainment system that will make its debut in Volvo's flagship SUV. It also looks like we can expect digital gauges when the XC90 finally arrives.
