1995 volvo 850 glt wagon in good condition. this has the non-turbo 2.4 litre 5 cylinder.
exterior is in above average condition for the age and mileage having only one minor rust spot behind passenger rear door, just above the rocker panel cover between the door and the wheelwell. the spot is only bubbled not rusted thru. the rest of the exterior is very clean with only stone chips along the rocker covers and minor scratches hear and there as you would expect with an 18 year old car. all glass is intact and in good condition. car does have headlight wipers but the passenger side is broken off and in the glove box. the front tires are brand new with less than 300 miles on them as of 2/25/2013. the rear tires were put on to pass inspection last year and they have just under 8000 miles on them. in march of 2012 i replaced both front control arms which included the ball joints, both outer tie rods, both upper strut mount bearings and also two rear control arm bushings.
interior is in average condition. the leather seats are in decent shape with mostly just cracks in the leather. the driver seat does have one or two small tears but nothing major. the power drivers seat works great as well as all three memory settings. the passenger seat is manual. both seats are heated but the drivers does not work, the passenger side works good. all electrical items function properly with the exception of the drivers side view mirror defrost, it is non operational, the rest if the mirror operates fine. the door panels have some marks on them but very minor. the carpet is in average condition, having a hole worn thru in the drivers foot well where you would rest your left foot. there are some stains in the cargo area. there is a package tray behind the rear seats that is intact but does have some cracks. there is a built in child seat (see pic) that looks like it has never been used and in this day and age it probably should remain that way.
the audio system works very well and appears to be original, am/fm with cassette and there is a six disc cd changer in the cargo area mounted under the floor panel. the changer works good. all speakers have good sound.
power sunroof is in great working order.
a believe i am the third owner. there are a lot of service records in the glove box from the previous owner.
engine runs good getting about 18-19 mpg city and 25-26 mpg highway. it could use a tune up and i dont know the last time it was done, it runs so good i didn't bother. i do know the timing belt was replaced around 127000 miles. i just changed the oil about 300 miles ago.. the transmission shifts smoothly being a 4 speed. it has economy, sport, and winter modes. the upper engine mount bushing is new (its more of a stabilizer than a mount). air conditioning does work but has a slow leak. i recharged it in june and it lasted me thru the summer, cooling the car pretty well for being a wagon.
overall the car is in good running/driving condition that needs very little work. parts are cheap and easy to work on. this would make a good first car for a new driver or a good commuter car for someone in college.
a deposit of $250.00 is due within 48 hours of auction close. balance due upon pick-up. cash or certified bank check only! NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS. paypal may be used for the deposit only.
PICK UP ONLY! ive been scammed before with shipping, im not going thru it again. car is located in bethlehem, pa. very close to the lehigh valley international airport. if you want to fly in i will pick you up.
i will entertain cash offers, but no low ballers please! i know what the car is worth and i expect to get a fair price for it. i might be intersted in a trade, im looking for a large suv, suburban, tahoe, yukon, or expedition with less than 200k. any question i will gladly answer i have nothing to hide and im sure i forgot to mention a thing or two. i can be reached thru ebay, or kcburke73@yahoo.com, or my cell 610-761-6655.

We dialed a random Swede, talked about not driving Volvos
Fri, Apr 8 2016The Swedish Number is now a thing. It's a cool thing. You dial, a random Swede picks up, and you chat. Or, in my case, you dial and a random Brit living in Sweden for the past six year picks up and you chat. Since I was calling on behalf of Autoblog, when I got Martin from the small coastal town of Sundsvall, on the phone, we talked about cars, Volvos (natch), and cold-weather testing. Oh, and about plugging in his regular Toyota Prius. ABG: I was able to come to Sweden and test Volvos a month or so ago. Do you drive a Volvo? Martin: [laughs] No. I think Volvo is a fantastic car. It truly is an amazing car, but no. My girlfriend has a company car, so we drive a hybrid Toyota Prius. ABG: And how does that work in the cold winters? It obviously cuts down on the environmental problems. Martin: No problem at all. Because we have these cold winters, like you do get in the States as well, where we park our cars, we've got electricity posts where we can plug in the cars. Motor car engines have a heater, so you can have the heater going for some time before you get into the car. So it warms up the engine and there's a socket inside the car to warm up the inside of the car as well. It's very efficient. You just need to remember to set the timer when you climb out of the car and connect the cable. It obviously cuts down on the environmental problems as well because your car is already warm before you start them. ABG: I know that makes them overall more efficient, I just didn't know it could work with any car. It used to be you would keep the diesel engine blocks warm, but this works for pretty much any car in Sweden? Martin: Yes. Our temperatures here can vary. We do tend to get roundabout -18 to -25C [0 to -15F], where I live, sometimes. Normally, in the winter, we always plug the car in to make it more environmentally friendly, for starters, and then it's a nice warm car when you get in. The coldest I remember it getting here was -36 [-33F]. In the north of Sweden they've had, on record, -56 [-69F]. ABG: That's too cold. Martin: That is cold, yeah. Most countries, now, use the north of Sweden to test their cars because of the ice. Volvo S90 Prototype View 15 Photos ABG: That's actually why I came over there, to test out the new XC90s and S90s. Martin: Is that your job, then? ABG: I don't test the cars for the companies, but I test them for Autoblog. They'll invite us to test the vehicles so we can see for ourselves what the vehicles do in cold weather.
Volvo S80 nip/tuck spotted in China
Sun, 16 Dec 2012An early look at the new face of the Volvo S80 has made its way to the web. The Chinese site Auto Sina spotted a revised version of the country's S80L out in public and in plain view. Not too long ago, Doug Speck, the global head of marketing and sales for Volvo, said designers were working on a mild facelift for the S60 and S80, and while it is possible the Swedish manufacturer will roll out a different front fascia for the US market, the move seems unlikely.
The S80L seen here boats a tweaked grille and a Passat-inspired lower valance. New wheels and side-view mirrors also appear to be part of the update, as does a modified rear bumper and exhaust outlets. Volvo is set to debut the facelifed S80 next year, and while the manufacturer hasn't delivered an exact time frame, good money is on the vehicle showing up at the Detroit Auto Show in January or the Geneva Motor Show in March. Stay tuned for more information.
Cyan Racing Volvo P1800 First Drive: The Swedish answer to Singer Porsche
Thu, Jun 9 2022There’s a good chance youÂ’ve never heard of Cyan Racing unless youÂ’re a fan of World Touring Car Championship racing. Its previous name might ring a bell, however: Polestar Racing. Before the performance road car side of its business was sold to Volvo, and therefore long before that business was in turn spun off into an electric car brand, Polestar developed and campaigned racecars. Now known as Cyan Racing, it has had quite the run of success, too, as theyÂ’re the reigning champions in the WTCC series with five titles so far. Somehow, they found the time to create something entirely different: the Volvo P1800 Cyan. As the name implies, itÂ’s based on the P1800 coupe that was produced from 1961 through 1973. Readers of a certain age will associate that car with Roger Moore as The Saint, before he became James Bond. The P1800 has always been an anomaly in the Volvo lineage. Its classic shape came from the Frua/Ghia studio in Italy and even though it never had sports car credentials, the P1800 had a small but loyal following. So loyal that a P1800S holds a Guinness World Record for the 3.25 million miles driven by its original owner. Despite the P1800 CyanÂ’s undeniable similarity to the original Volvo coupe, itÂ’s an entirely different beast. The only items that remain from the original 1964 donor vehicle are its steel chassis, hood release, handbrake, and windshield wipers. High-strength steel has replaced much of the substructure and the body has been reimagined in carbon fiber. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder sourced from the Volvo S60 TC1 race car. It produces a surprising 420 horsepower and 336 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm. Bolted to the block is a five-speed Holinger manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. The original P1800Â’s live axle is replaced by an independent rear with front and rear double-wishbone suspensions being fully adjustable. The 18-inch custom wheels are shod with Pirelli P Zero rubber: 235 widths up front and 265s in the rear. This all results in a featherlight 2,180-pound curb weight. LetÂ’s just say that again for effect: 2,180 lbs. ThatÂ’s lighter than a Miata, folks. At this point, the P1800 Cyan is already unreasonably cool, but wait, thereÂ’s so much more. Hans Baath, general manager for Cyan Racing proudly admits that Singer Vehicle Designs is a huge inspiration for this project, and if youÂ’ve ever seen a Singer Porsche in person, you probably have an idea of whatÂ’s next.
