One Owner 1992 Volvo 740 Base Wagon 4-door 2.3l Clean Autocheck No Reserve on 2040-cars

Year:1992 Mileage:170959 Color: should be considered very clean considering the age and miles
Location:

Ocean City, Maryland, United States

Ocean City, Maryland, United States

This is a classic one owner 1992 Volvo 740 Wagon. It runs and drives 100%, has a clean AutoCheck and is being sold with no reserve.

The 2.3L four cylinder engine purrs along without a miss. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly without hesitation or slipping. The brakes, steering and suspension seem normal without problems. No exhaust leaks.

The exterior should be considered very clean considering the age and miles. There are no major dents or dings. You might find a scratch if you look hard. No body rust, even on the lower rocker or around the wheel wells. The gas door is missing (see pic). No windshield chips or cracks. The lights and lenses are bright with no cracks. The front tires have about 10% tread and the rear tires are new but the car comes with complete other set of Volvo wheels and tires (see pic).

The interior is blue. The carpets are in good condition but could use a better cleaning to be perfect. The seats are cloth with no bad stains, holes or wear areas. The front seats are heated. The driver door arm rest is cracked (see pic). All the power options such as windows, side mirrors, etc. work as designed. There is a factory sound system that was working but the display says "code" which means the battery went dead and the radio must be reset with the code. The heat is hot and the AC blows cold.

These older Volvo wagons seem to run forever. There are no current mechanical issues with this vehicle and no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will be able to drive it away.

This one owner vehicle is being sold by a Maryland Used Car Dealer. We require, on ALL internet sales, a $200 internet auction fee which covers document, clerical, airport transportation, IT support, internet provider and all other internet auction expenses. This fee covers our fixed expenses and allows us to sell with no reserve. We offer, with proof of insurance, a 60 day temporary tag for $50.

This is a NO RESERVE auction which means that the high bidder, at auction end, must purchase the vehicle. Only bid if you intend to buy and you understand the payment procedure. Please don't insult our intelligence, and yours, with some lame excuse why you can't buy when you win. ALL non-paying bidders will be reported to Ebay. IF THE DEPOSIT IS NOT RECEIVED WITHIN 24 HOURS AS REQUIRED THROUGH PAYPAL WE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELIST AND REPORT AN UNPAID BIDDER. We try to describe all vehicles accurately. For questions call 410 251-7326. Thanks.

A MARYLAND STATE INSPECTION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR MARYLAND RESIDENTS SINCE THIS VEHICLE QUALIFIES FOR HISTORIC REGISTRATION. DEPOSIT ARE NON-REFUNDED.

Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars

Sun, Sep 24 2017

Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Volvo returns to profitability

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Ford sold Volvo to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Limited in 2010. Just two years later, Geely announced an $11-billion investment in the Swedish carmaker, its charismatic fugleman Li Shifu saying, "We want to revive Volvo and give the brand its strength back." Two years later, after having introduced the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show this week, Volvo CEO Håkan Samuelsson (above, second from right) declared the company profitable again after a solid 2013 and predicted a positive 2014.
Intending to break even on operating profit in 2013, Volvo exceeded expectations and landed on the plus side due to a mix of factors. US sales declined 10.1 percent for the year to 61,233, that number still making us Volvo's largest market, but Chinese sales were up nearly 46 percent to 61,146 units, and even its home market saw a bump of 0.8 percent; total sales for the year were 427,840, a margin of 1.4-percent over the previous year. Volvo was able to do more with the tiny gain and reverse its half-year operating loss because of a global cost restructuring and thorough revamp of its Chinese distribution network. An announcement of 2013's financial results will come in March.
Bullishness on 2014 comes from the company's intention to focus on its two biggest markets with new models, new technology and more spending. The first product of an independent Volvo, the new XC90, will be revealed later this year on the new SPA architecture. On top of the Sensus Connect infotainment system, Volvo will add driver-aid systems like adaptive cruise control with steer assist and night-time pedestrian detection. It also has a new North American CEO and will spend more on marketing and communications here. In China it will begin to feel more effect from the two Chinese factories opened last year - it has three in the country - and, if need be, can take advantage of more advantageous exchange rates by exporting from China instead of the US. Said Samuelsson of what he expects in the US in 2014, "we will outperform the market."

Volvo considering offering V60 wagon in the US

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

For the 2014 model year, the Volvo product line is shrinking to just five models in the United States: the S60, S80, XC60, XC70 and XC90. This comes following the death of the C30 hatchback and C70 convertible, which are being discontinued after the 2013 model year. The S40 sedan and V50 wagon were axed two years ago, as was the larger V70.
That may not be the case, however. According to Automotive News, Volvo is rethinking its decision to not sell the V60 wagon, pictured, in the United States. The automaker had originally decided to not offer the V60 in our market due to declining American wagon sales. A decision is expected to be made sometime in the next quarter, and if approved, sales of the V60 could begin in the US within the next year.
At the Geneva Motor Show last week, Volvo showed off refreshed versions of nearly every vehicle in its lineup. In the US, these will be the only changes coming to the Volvo brand over the next two years. The next big product launch in the States will be the all-new XC90 crossover, developed under new parent company Geely. The range-topping SUV will ride on the company's new flexible SPA platform, which will also underpin the next-generation versions of the S60, S80 and XC60.
