Nice 2004 Volvo S80 2.5T This car has been dealer serviced and well maintained. 5 cylinder turbo engine and 5 speed automatic transmission function well. There are no leaks of any fluid that I can detect and the engine burns no oil. All systems and electronics work as designed. New Bridgestone Ecopia tires in last 4,000 miles with 60k mile treade warranty from Costco - waranty is transferable. I had transmission fluid flushed at the last oil change. This is a runner and it has been a reliable commuter car for me. Glass - excellent condition windshield and all other glass Paint - good overall - body has no rust. There are several rock chips on the front bumper and hood from the highway. There are a few small dings on the left side of the front fender and rear driver side (tried to picture). There is a dent in the rear passenger door, but shallow. I think somebody bumped the door in the parking lot, but it's minor and you could easily miss it at first glance. This car has been garaged. Wheels - good. Alloys have no curb rash, but they do have some scratches around the lug nuts from age and from rotating wheels. There is a bit of pitting, but it's minor and they look good. Mileage is surprisingly good for a car of this age and size. I get 32mpg on highway going about 72. I get 25.7mpg combined. Interior is in excellent condition. No rips, no stains, no cracking in the leather, dash and all controls are functional and in excellent condition, headliner is clean. Seats are amazingly comfortable and supportive as Volvo is known for. No weird smells, non-smoker. This car has moonroof, climate control, premium radio, casette and single cd (quality factory audio system), heated leather seats, cruise control, tilt telescope wheel, ambient temperature. Everything you need and nothing you don't. The climate control is one of the best I've had - gets very cold or very warm quickly. Car is very quiet inside, more quiet than any other car I've owned. The only item worth mentioning is the bushings in the front are starting to wear, but I was told by dealer that they did not yet need to be replaced. This is the only known issue. All service has been done by the book at Jenkins Jaguar/Volvo in Milwaukee, including the timing belt. The car has been maintained and will last for many more years if taken care of. Not sure if I missed anything, but let me know and I'll respond to your questions. Payment to be made in cash, or personal check must clear before car leaves my possession or any paperwork is signed. Someone will be getting a good deal on this car as the reserve is very reasonable.

2015 Volvo XC90
Wed, 27 Aug 2014
The new XC90 isn't just about the new XC90 - it's as much about the new generation of Volvos that will result.
Around the turn of the millennium, Volvo seemed like the perfect automaker to make a crossover. It had, after all, already established for itself a reputation for building all-wheel-drive wagons for transporting families in safety and comfort. But while its competitors marched one by one into the luxury utility market, Volvo held out. That was, anyway, until the debut of the original XC90 in 2002. And it's never looked back since.
Volvo won't go after S-Class, 7 Series market
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Volvo vice president of powertrain engineering, Derek Crabb, recently said that the Swedish automaker is developing smaller and smarter powertrain options that will "turn V8s into dinosaurs" - a statement that could have been our first indication that Volvo is no longer looking to create a luxury flagship sedan to take on German land yachts like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Now Automotive News seems to be backing this up after speaking with CEO Hakan Samuelsson, who said that a big sedan wouldn't fit the brand's green image and, more importantly, might not even be a car that its customers would even consider.
Rather than trying to compete in a small, established market against rear-drive, 12-cylinder sedans, Volvo is looking at the emerging, higher-volume premium small car segment to take on its German rivals with the all-new Volvo V40 (shown above). Not wanting to abandon the big-vehicle segment altogether, a next-generation XC90 is due out within the next couple years (and was spotted in some recent spy shots), and it will ride on the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will be shared with the new S80 according to the AN article.
Volvo celebrates 20 years of sleeper wagons with 850 T-5R and V60 Polestar
Mon, 10 Nov 2014I must have been around Bar Mitzvah age when I was in the back of my parents' car on the highway as we passed a truck full of Volvo 850 T-5R wagons - half of them in black, half in banana yellow. It was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen: a whole gaggle of sleeper power wagons that were infinitely cooler than whatever minivan we were riding in. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago, but it was. And Polestar is understandably keen to mark the anniversary of the first overt Volvo performance wagon.
While Volvo's racing partner hasn't released some commemorative edition to celebrate that prototypical sleeper, it has shot a special batch of photos of the T-5R (based on the 850 wagon internally known as the 855 for its five doors) alongside its modern successor, the V60 Polestar. The images shot in Huntington Beach, CA, only go to show how much has changed in the two decades that separate them.
Whereas this front-drive T-5R packed a turbocharged inline-five driving 240 horsepower through a four-speed automatic propel the yellow box to 62 in 7.0 seconds, the turbo six in the svelter, Rebel Blue-clad 2015 V60 Polestar churns out 350 hp to all four wheels through a six-speed auto for a 4.9-second sprint. That's the kind of progress we can get behind. In fact, it's the sort of progress that everyone can get behind, really, because chances are whatever you're driving will probably have a hard time keeping up.
