1991 Volvo 740 Base Wagon 4-door 2.3l Daily Driver-lots Of New Parts-runs Great on 2040-cars
Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States

I bought this car last week after selling my 4x4. Although it has plenty of room, runs great and is in great condition, I am not used to sitting down so low! So I am listing it for sale and probably going to buy something that sits up a bit higher!
Runs good, looks good. This is NOT a turbo so it gets good gas mileage. I am including a TomTom GPS because the speedometer does not work and the TomTom shows your speed. Has a nice sound system and speakers with CD player. All leather interior - feels like you are sitting on the couch at home when driving - it is SOOO COMFY! The former owner recently had lots of upkeep and maintenance done to it such as new brakes, new tires, new timing belt, new battery, oil change, tune up, exhaust work. This is from what he told me last week and what he had posted in his ad. It has a newer muffler which sounds like a subaru. I require a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT through PayPay within 24 hours of auction closing. Then I require the balance IN CASH when we meet IN PERSON to deliver the car to you. I am in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I will make a reasonable effort to deliver the car nearby. For example, if you are in Denver and have transportation difficulties, I may deliver it to you and take a bus home BUT this is entirely up to my discretion and work schedule. Most likely, you will need to take a bus to me and drive it home. Everything works and is good on this car except the specifics that are mentioned below: Windshield has crack & will need to be replaced, rear driver side taillight is cracked, small dent next to driver side headlight, scratch on driver side door near bottom. Speedometer & gas gauge do not work - BUT I am including a TomTom GPS which shows your MPH. (Mechanic has suggested that ground wire may be off in dash) A/C may need charge. Sunroof works but needs new seal - has tape sealing it now. I have included photos specifically of these issues. There are no guarantees whatsoever on this car as I have only had it for one week but the prior owner had maintained it well. |

Volvo will start testing wireless charging with XC40 taxis
Thu, Mar 3 2022Volvo announced it will start testing wireless charging systems with its Volvo XC40 Recharge electric SUVs. It's doing so by creating a small fleet of XC40 Recharge taxis for Cabonline, the largest cab operation in the Nordic nations. The testing in Volvo's hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden, will last for three years, and Volvo notes that the driving conditions will involve 12 hours a day of driving with cars racking up 100,000 kilometers (about 62,000 miles) per year. The charging stations come from American company Momentum Dynamics. They're embedded into the pavement of the Volvos' parking spaces and begin charging automatically when parked correctly (which is aided by the on-board surround-view camera). The charging speed is 40-kW, which is close to the maximum charging speed of many electric cars' on-board chargers when connected to a DC station. Interestingly, Momentum Dynamics lists systems capable of charging speeds as high as 450 kW on its website. Volvo did not make any announcements regarding future availability of wireless charging. We would imagine the results of this testing will affect whether the company intends to make it a factory offering. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites
Sun, Jan 7 2024Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
