The last owner (a Volvo enthusiast) bought the car from its original owner in Mississippi and with the help of Snider Automotive, got it back to working order. -No body damage whatsoever -Tires are in good condition -No clunks/noises from the suspension Repairs Done: -Transmission replaced (the replacement is an AW-71 which is the durable model used in most older rear wheel drive Volvos) -Drive shaft and shifter replaced -New shifter bushings -Speedometer rebuilt by DNA in Florida -Odometer gear replaced -Sunroof adjusted + drains cleaned (so won't leak) -Driver's window roller replaced on track inside door panel -Water Pump and thermostat replaced -Timing belt replaced about 1 1/2 years ago by Mississippi owner -New Battery from Napa Auto Parts -New alternator from Todd's Auto Parts -New front brakes -New fuel pump relay + impulse sensor -Oil changed last week (w/ synthetic oil) *I also have the service records from the original owner -- showing how meticulously this car was cared for A few things you may consider replacing but are NOT critical: -The air conditioner went out a few months ago. I have a contact for a used air compressor if you're interested. -New tail lens + covers (you can find these online at ipdusa) -The radio goes in and out so will eventually need a new one (the original radio is still in there). Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is
Fri, 15 Nov 2013Something - we don't know what yet - is coming from Polestar. While we'll be recovering from next week's LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show (and starting to slack off ahead of an extended Thanksgiving weekend), the official tuner of Volvo products has announced plans to unveil its latest creation in less than two weeks.
Based on this video teaser, we can only imagine (and hope) that it's the souped-up Volvo V60 recently caught testing by our spy shooters. The idea of a high-performance Volvo wagon was already enough to get us giddy last month, but the exhaust note in this video is downright captivating. Volvo reveals 400-hp twin-charged PHEV power for new XC90 [UPDATE]
Tue, 08 Jul 2014UPDATE: An earlier version of this post indicated that the larger of the conventional diesel engines was a five-cylinder. However all three powertrains announced for the upcoming new XC90 are actually four-cylinder engines. The text has been updated accordingly.
Volvo rolled in to new territory when it introduced the original XC90 back in 2002, creating its first SUV and one of its top-selling models. But that was 12 years ago. In the meantime it's followed up with the smaller XC60, but what the brand faithful and the industry at large have been looking forward to most is the arrival of the new XC90.
Previewed by the Concept XC Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show, the new XC90 is set to arrive later this year, but to keep us on our toes, the Swedish automaker has been steadily trickling out a stream of information and photos. Two months ago it gave us a glimpse inside the cabin, and last month it revealed its new infotainment system, but now Volvo has released details on the upcoming new XC90's powertrain.
