Description:
Here is your clean, California 1800E. The body is solid and ready for the road.  The interior is new.  Be sure to review the video and photo links (too many photos to fit here).

Mechanicals:
The motor runs smoothly, with plenty of power.  This car has power steering - one of the few 1800's in the world with power steering.  The cost for that upgrade was several thousand dollars, and it works very well.  Manuevering in a parking lot is a breeze.

Body:
The paint is well maintained and shiny.  The color is bright and unfaded.  The lenses are clean.  The chrome is clear.  The upholstery is immaculate, with proper leather front seats.  The dash and instruments are clean.  The glass is clear.  The undercarriage is completely solid, as would be expected from a California car.

This is well-maintained, clean example of an 1800E.  It is owned by a collector and Volvo club member.  It's ready for shipping or driving home.

Geely's new EV plant in China will build premium Polestar cars

Mon, Oct 26 2020

BEIJING/SHANGHAI — An electric vehicle factory planned by China's Geely will produce cars under the premium Polestar marque, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Monday. Zhejiang Geely Holding Group plans to build a plant with annual manufacturing capacity of 30,000 premium EVs in the western city of Chongqing, run by a wholly owned, newly registered company, according to documents on its website. Geely and Polestar declined to comment. The plan comes as foreign automakers including BMW AG and Tesla expand EV production in the worldÂ’s biggest market, sourcing major EV components such as batteries locally and often even exporting a portion of the vehicles it builds. Hangzhou-based Geely is ChinaÂ’s most internationally known automaker. It owns Volvo Cars and Lotus, almost half of Proton and 9.7% of Daimler AG. Through wholly owned company Polestar, it builds low-volume Polestar 1 hybrid performance cars in the western city of Chengdu and Polestar 2 volume sedans in Taizhou in the east. It also plans to begin production of the Precept sedan, displayed at this yearÂ’s China auto show. Polestar aims to eventually offer bigger, more sporty vehicles at its showrooms, which currently span nine countries and whose number it plans to raise to 45 from 23 by year-end. Polestar Chief Executive Thomas Ingenlath told Reuters the firm is scouting markets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Geely is also building a factory in China to make sport-utility vehicles under the Lotus marque, Reuters reported.

Volvo unveils all-new user interface destined for next-gen XC90 [w/video]

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Take a close look at the cabin of the Volvo Concept Estate shown above. One of the big features on the fancy, brown shooting brake is an all-new user interface called, well, it doesn't really have a name, at least not one Volvo is revealing.
The refreshingly nameless system looks seriously impressive based on the short video that accompany's the system's press release. The jewel of the whole interface is a sizable touchscreen that manages most every in-car function save for a few vital functions like volume, hazard lights and other systems that still demand a more tactile interface.
"The basic idea is to organize controls and information in a perfectly intuitive and user- friendly way. Everything is exactly where you expect it to be, making the drive more enjoyable, efficient, and safe," Thomas Ingenlath, Volvo's Senior Vice President of Design, said in a statement.
