Hi I am selling my 1993 volvo 240 sedan 134,XXXk miles 5 speed manual trans its in great shape cosmetically and mechanically, its black exterior paint looks great w/ black cloth interior(9 out of 10). It has all the bells and whistles power everything. I am a volvo tech and have maintained and garage kept this 240 and really only drove it every once and awhile around the area not very often kind of a Sunday local car, I really dont want or need to sell this 240 but I have one to many volvos and need to trim down the fleet.(wife wants a spot in driveway) I originally purchased this volvo because it was clean and a five speed w/ the intention to swap the b230 engine w/ a b230ft engine but after driving this volvo for the last couple years I have decided it would be a shame to remove the low mileage engine that runs perfect and strong for another. I rebuilt a b230ft but I would rather put it into a 240 coupe so im keeping my eyes out for a clean one and selling this one. I have done many recent repairs like all new fluids, brakes, battery, clutch and cable, tuneup, timming belt, ball joints, and new tires w/ alignment the only things needed to be done are the rubber upper shock bushings and a/c needs to be recharged. The interior is very clean it includes heated seats, power everthing, dash pad (mint), original radio, rear 6x9 infiniti speakers. The car was involved in a minor accident in a pakinglot on 8/14/06 no frame damage but the drivers door was replaced w/ a oem door and painted paint job looks great cant tell, the floors are in mint shape the only spot of rust is on the inner door rocker panel of the rear drivers side door it can be repaired wich I didnt get to or another panel can be welded in wich I have and will include with the sale probably caused from a bad seal car is originally from PA.I have never drove the car during the winter or salted roads meaning clean car. In the pics it shows guages where the radio is I will put original radio back in its place also on the drivers door the speaker is missing wich I will put back before sale also the plastic piece behind rear liscense plate has cracked and has been removed since pics. Winner will be responsible for shipment of vehicle, I will need (CASH) in hand for the title before releasing the 240.
I could go on forever on how much I love this car because its the most dependable volvo I have owned and its a turn key and go ready. Email me if you have any questions.
Thanks

Junkyard Gem: 1982 Volvo 244 DL
Sat, Jul 9 2022Because it was sold in the United States for so many years — 19 model years, to be exact — and won the hearts of so many American drivers with its reliability and safety, sufficient examples of the Volvo 200 Series remain in service that they continue to show up in self-service car graveyards nearly 30 years after the last ones left the showroom. We saw a low-mile Richelieu Red 1983 Volvo 244 DL in a Denver-area yard last year, and now I've found a near-identical 1982 244 DL in another yard located between Denver and Cheyenne. Volvo went through several variations in the naming scheme for these cars between 1975 and 1993; during the first half of the 1980s, the 240 was badged using just the trim level. That makes this car a 1982 Volvo DL, the cheapest trim level available at the time. By now, though, everyone who knows old Volvos uses the three-number system of the 1970s, with the second digit indicating the number of engine cylinders and the third digit representing the number of doors. I'll be using the 244 designation here. This car came from the factory with a fuel-injected 2.1-liter SOHC straight-four rated at 112 horsepower. This car has the base four-on-the-floor manual transmission with an overdrive selected via the switch on the shift knob. If you wanted an automatic transmission, you had to pay an extra $325 (just over a thousand bucks in 2022 money). Later in the decade, a five-speed manual became available on the 240. Most 240s rack up better than 200,000 miles during their careers (and I've seen quite a few that made it past 300,000), but this car didn't reach that figure. This car still has its original AM/FM/cassette radio, which would have cost serious money in 1982. The MSRP on this car was $10,260, or about $31,800 in 2022 dollars. The two-door version went for $9,785 ($30,330 now). You could get a new 1982 Buick LeSabre Limited sedan for $9,331, and it was much roomier and more powerful than the VolvoÂ… but not as good in a crash. There's very little rust on this car, and the only serious body damage is this dented passenger-side door. The rodent nesting detritus under the hood and the lack of wear on the seat fabric suggests that it got parked for good a decade or three back. Perhaps it would have been rescued and revived in the rustier parts of the continent, but there's a glut of restorable 244s and a shortage of Volvo enthusiasts in the Denver area. Editors’ Picks July 2022 | Volvo XC60, 911 GT3 and a hot Hyundai
Tue, Aug 16 2022This latest rendition of Editors’ Picks sees us recognize some enthusiast-focused vehicles on both sides of the price spectrum and a luxury SUV. The 911 GT3 was an easy shoo-in, but the Hyundai Elantra N is what surprised us the most. WeÂ’re sad to see the Veloster N bow out after this year, but at least the N model in its place is a worthy one. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in July that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2022 Volvo XC60 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge View 36 Photos Quick take: The Volvo XC60 is one of our favorite luxury crossovers, and the PHEV option is a killer setup. We dig the interior design, and the exterior is attractively Swedish, too. Score: 7.5 What it competes with: Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Genesis GV70, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, Acura RDX, Volvo XC60, Lincoln Corsair, Infiniti QX50, Porsche Macan Pros: Great design, epic PHEV option, intriguing interior design options Cons: Tech can be cumbersome, big wheels lead to a stiff ride From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "When it comes to plug-in hybrids, there's no better compact crossover option than the XC60 Recharge. I really dig the extra-powerful electric motor and larger battery Volvo added this year. The interior wool option is my pick of the bunch, but I am a little disappointed that there aren't as many physical buttons throughout the interior as there were before." News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "Although it's got some age, the Volvo XC60 is still an excellent premium SUV. It's as handsome as ever with its clean, modern design inside and out, and feels genuinely luxurious. But what really sets the XC60 apart is its available plug-in hybrid powertrain. It's smooth and refined, and best of all, it's still great in electric mode.
Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.
