For sale is my 1991 Volvo 240. The car has been great to me over the time I have owned it, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. This is a special delivery diplomat car that was originally bought in Sweden by the previous owner. I am actually the second owner of the car. It features, Anit-lock brakes, power windows, power door locks, and cruise control. They all function as they should as well. The car is slightly lowered to give a little better stance and a better look. It also features a few extras that I added on. It has black turbo trim, that I repainted. It also features 16" 740 turbo rims. The rims have two tires that are almost new, however, the other two have ok tread buy are worn very crooked. I also added in the stock Volvo small tach in the dash. The car has an Alpine head unit and Infinity 5.25's in the front in the stock Volvo surrounds. There are many new parts on the car which include:
Completely repainted - Dec' 12
New radiator - Jan '13
New timing belt and water pump - Jan '12
Fresh tune up (plugs, wires, car, rotor, air filter) - Mar '13
New back half of exhaust with a Thrush glass pack muffler and straight tip Feb - '13 (One rear exhaust hanger fell off so the exhaust rattles a bit now)
The car drives great as is but has a few little things that could use some attention. First off the odometer in the car does not work (a very common problem for these). It has been stuck at 206,000 since I bought the car. It has approximately 235,000 miles on it at this point. The AC does not work. It may just need a charge but I have never investigated the issue. It needs a new overdrive solenoid, as it sometimes does not like to shift into overdrive right away. I actually have a brand new one, but it is just not installed at the moment. Also, the blower motor makes a lot of noise at times. It does work on all settings but can be loud at times. There is a slight leak in the heater core, as when the heat is on the windows like to fog up. Finally, the left hood hinge has a slight bend in it and thus makes the hood sit a slight bit out of alignment. I do have a good replacement, however, it is tan. This will be included with the car. The check engine light is on (has been since I got the car). These issues do not effect the driveability of the car, and as I said I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.
This car has been great to me and I am very sad to see her go, but I recently acquired a new car and I can't afford to keep all of them. That is the only reason I'm selling. Thanks for looking. The car is listed for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early.

Volvo debuts new Drive-E four-cylinder engines
Fri, 16 Aug 2013
Volvo is introducing a new engine family based on its new Drive-E philosophy, which encompasses "all innovations made to reduce the impact on the environment," the automaker says. Less cylinders allows for less environmental impact, so the new engines are all four-pots. They also were designed to pair easily with Volvo's upcoming hybrid drive system, which "will reach power figures in the V8 territory" and play a "dominant part of the top end of [Volvo's] range," says Derek Crabb, Vice President Powertrain Engineering. Volvo also says we can expect "power curves that give exciting drivability compared with engines with more cylinders."
Volvo says some versions of the engine were designed targeting best-in-class fuel economy. There are both gasoline and diesel options, but the latter of which isn't scheduled for US consumption. Instead, the US will be offered two states of tune of the gasoline Drive-E engine for front-wheel-drive vehicles. Some of Volvo's current all-wheel-drive powertrains will remain available in the US until the company has transitioned solely to the new, fuel-efficient inline-fours.
2016 Chevy Colorado grabs Motor Trend Truck of the Year award
Tue, Nov 17 2015It's not an easy feat to win Motor Trend Truck of the Year twice in a row, but the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado managed to do just that. Thanks to the introduction of the 2.8-liter Duramax four-cylinder diesel, the magazine decided to bring the pickup back to defend the title. In more good news for the Bowtie brand, the 2016 Camaro earned the magazine's Car of the Year award. The Colorado beat a tough group of finalists to earn the nod this year, including its GMC Canyon sibling. The Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra also made this year's list. The Nissan Titan XD and latest Toyota Tacoma rounded out the challengers. A model had to shine in six criteria to earn the title: advancement in design, engineering excellence, safety, efficiency, value, and performance of intended function. Like it did with the Camaro, Motor Trend posted a story online that explained the rationale for picking the Colorado again. They praised the diesel profusely and lauded the whole platform as quite a capable hauler. This year's Motor Trend SUV of the Year honor went to the Volvo XC90. The Swedish 'ute had to win against an initial group of 16 candidates that the magazine eventually whittled down to finalists that consisted of the Honda Pilot, Lincoln MKX, the combined Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class and GLE Coupe, and Nissan Murano. "Seven-passenger people movers aren't supposed to drive like this," senior features editor Jonny Lieberman said about the Volvo in the announcement of the champions. The Honda CR-V won last year. In the explanation online, the judges applauded the XC90's new modular platform, and they loved both the T6 twin-charged engine and T8 hybrid version. The SUV's key enamored the writers, too. Volvo to complete concept car trilogy in Geneva
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Volvo went through some doldrums around the same time it was bought by Geely, but it proved that it was back when it unveiled the P1800-inpsired Concept Coupe last August at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It followed up with the sleek Concept XC Coupe crossover (pictured above) in Detroit that echoed the next-generation XC90. Now, the Swede is readying one more concept to bring the trilogy to an end, and act as the centerpiece of its display at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
There are no images of the new concept yet, not even a teaser, but Volvo says that like the other two, it's designed by Thomas Ingenlath and shares common design elements. Since it has already imagined a future coupe and crossover, maybe the concept is a sedan. Volvo has confirmed that it rides on the modular Scalable Product Architecture platform that is being used on multiple future production models and uses its new Drive-E four-cylinder engine family.
The Concept Coupe and Concept XC Coupe will be on display with the new concept in Geneva so that visitors can get a complete idea of Volvo's future. Hopefully, the company has finally righted the course and is ready to compete on the world stage again. Scroll down to read Volvo's few details about the new concept.
