The drivers seat has a tear in the leather and a hole. The carpet under the driver side second seat floor mat has a stain. the head liner has some small holes. The dash has some cracking and the windshield has a crack."

This is a very clean 1985 Volvo wagon with many special features.

The car has a little less than 130k miles and I believe it to be original due to the receipts in it, when I bought it 5 years ago. I used this car for special occasions in the summer and have put roughly 8k on it. It has always been garaged. The car starts and runs very well and drives smooth and straight down the road. The brakes work well. We consistently get 25mpg. The AC is not hooked up, but I believe everything else works. This car has not seen any Wisconsin winters, and has very little rust. The car originally came from the pacific northwest, and was repainted at some time in the original Volvo color. The paint has started to peel in a few places. I have never changed the tires, so new ones will be needed. This car comes with special options, including third row seating, cargo cover and cargo mat. There is an oem armrest installed for the driver, which is very comfortable. The car comes with plastic mats over the carpet. This is GL version with real leather seats. The third seat is for children from 50 to 88 pounds. The 15" wheels are more likely to be found on a Volvo 940 than a 240. The usual wheels for this car would be 14".

Next Polestar Volvo sounds great, whatever it is

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Something - we don't know what yet - is coming from Polestar. While we'll be recovering from next week's LA Auto Show and Tokyo Motor Show (and starting to slack off ahead of an extended Thanksgiving weekend), the official tuner of Volvo products has announced plans to unveil its latest creation in less than two weeks.
Based on this video teaser, we can only imagine (and hope) that it's the souped-up Volvo V60 recently caught testing by our spy shooters. The idea of a high-performance Volvo wagon was already enough to get us giddy last month, but the exhaust note in this video is downright captivating. Scroll down to watch the teaser for yourself, and be prepared for some bright blue wagony goodness to be revealed on November 26.

Volvo won't go after S-Class, 7 Series market

Mon, 22 Apr 2013

Volvo vice president of powertrain engineering, Derek Crabb, recently said that the Swedish automaker is developing smaller and smarter powertrain options that will "turn V8s into dinosaurs" - a statement that could have been our first indication that Volvo is no longer looking to create a luxury flagship sedan to take on German land yachts like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and BMW 7 Series. Now Automotive News seems to be backing this up after speaking with CEO Hakan Samuelsson, who said that a big sedan wouldn't fit the brand's green image and, more importantly, might not even be a car that its customers would even consider.
Rather than trying to compete in a small, established market against rear-drive, 12-cylinder sedans, Volvo is looking at the emerging, higher-volume premium small car segment to take on its German rivals with the all-new Volvo V40 (shown above). Not wanting to abandon the big-vehicle segment altogether, a next-generation XC90 is due out within the next couple years (and was spotted in some recent spy shots), and it will ride on the new Scalable Platform Architecture (SPA), which will be shared with the new S80 according to the AN article.

Roger Moore dies at 89; a look back at his automotive moments

Tue, May 23 2017

According to Reuters, actor Roger Moore passed away this morning. The news source reports he died of cancer at age 89. Moore has a place in automotive enthusiasts' hearts thanks to his connection to some of the most famous onscreen cars in history. He portrayed James Bond in multiple films, perhaps most famously in The Spy Who Loved Me, in which his Bond piloted an amphibious Lotus Esprit. That car inspired many, even Elon Musk, who purchased the submarine version of the car. He also included it as an Easter egg in the Tesla Model S. That wasn't the only memorable Moore automotive moment. In two other Bond films, his character was involved in some remarkable stunts. In The Man with the Golden Gun, Moore's Bond drives an AMC Hornet over a ramp and does a barrel roll. Although cheesy, the stunt did happen. According to The Telegraph, a Cornell University aeronautical computer ran a simulation of the stunt and calculated the variables (such as the proper speed: 40 mph). Then British stuntman Loren "Bumps" Willard executed the roll on the first take, earning a GBP30,000 bonus. Which is a lot of money for a scene that uses a slide whistle as a sound effect. Moore is also associated with a great car thanks to his other famous role on the TV show The Saint. In that series, he drove the beautiful and unusual Volvo P1800 coupe. The car was enough of an icon that Jay Leno featured it on his Jay Leno's Garage series. Related Video:
