Up for bid is my beautiful 1983 242 DL. It Is a car caught in a time warp. The car has no rust, and is original. paint is original, but has that great patina aged look to it. The interior is in excellent shape. The wheels are are in great shape with lots of tread left. the wheels are pastidipped and are pealing a little bit. if you don't want the black 15' wheels, I do have a set of the original 14" silver wheels. it does have IPD sway bars, and has been lowwered a bit by cutting a few coils off the springs. The car has its share of nick chips and fading that comes with 612k miles. But under the hood is where this car really shines. at 600k miles the old boy finaly blew a head gasket. so 13k miles ago the whole engine compartment went through a complete restore. every nut and bolt was put back to the original spec. and was replaced with new parts where possible. the block that was used was a very strong block with about 100k on it, so it should be good for another 500k at least. I have kept with the old look on the outside, but if you chose to paint it, this car would look better then it did when it came off the show room floor. I have two grills for it. one that I drive it with, and the original one with the 100k through 500k badges, and I have the 600k badge still new in the packaging ready to be put on the grill if you choose. feel free to call me 801-885-2969 or email me with any questions. the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping cost. this car is in fantastic shape, but given the age and miles, it is sold "as-is" good luck and happy bidding.

Volvo S60 Polestar Concept finally spotted in the flesh

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

The Volvo S60 Polestar Concept has graced the pages of Autoblog numerous times in recent memory, but we've never actually seen it in person. That is, until now.
We caught up with the blazing blue sedan sitting on the floor of the LA Auto Show, and it looks even better up close. As a refresher, the four-door is fitted with a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine (3.0-liter) generating an impressive 508 horsepower. Its close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox sends power to all four wheels through a fourth-generation Haldex XWD system. With a decent driver behind the steering wheel, the Polestar can crack the 60 mph benchmark in about 3.7 seconds as it rushes towards a top speed in excess of 186 mph.
Volvo has said that this Polestar-modified S60 was built for a specific client who paid upwards of $300,000 for the pleasure of owning it. But as they say, if there is market demand for more...

Volvo S60 Polestar entering limited production in Australia [w/video]

Wed, 10 Apr 2013

The Volvo S60 Polestar Concept may be entering limited production in Australia and, depending how the Aussies take to this Swedish super sports sedan, could then be made available worldwide. The news comes from Austrlia's GoAuto, which claims to have received early info from its sources inside Volvo and its tuning/motorsport arm, Polestar.
Polestar released a short teaser video this week (watch it below) of what appears to be the S60 Polestar Concept clipping the snowy apex of an ice track's turn. The only information given with the teaser were the words "Limited Edition. Soon in Australia." Unveiled last June, the S60 Polestar concept has since made the rounds at auto shows, visited Jay Leno's Garage, played on the track with its future competition, and even secured a home for itself with a buyer who reportedly is paying Volvo some $300,000 to own it.
The S60 Polestar Concept is about the meanest machine one can imagine making out of Volvo's sports sedan. Packing 508 horsepower and 424 pound-feet of torque from its heavily modified T6 engine, then routing those revolutions through a six-speed manual transmission to all four wheels, the S60 Polestar is said to cover the sprint to 62 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds. A lower and wider body, brakes by Brembo, suspension bits by Ohlins and a diet to delete some weight make this car a serious issue for M3 and C63 AMG owners everywhere. GoAuto's sources say the production version's performance will be dialed back a bit from the concept's, but we'll have to wait until Volvo and Polestar make this sedan's production official to find out by how much.
