1982 Volvo 240 Stick Shifting Wagon-5-speed Overdrive-new Tires-clean & Original on 2040-cars
Carlsbad, California, United States
1982 Volvo wagon - 4 speed with overdrive. This is a very clean and tidy looking Volvo wagon. It has a roof rack, power locks, 4 speed with overdrive transmission and an after market stereo that works very well. The tires are new. It is a California car and is registered thru April this year. If sold in California It will be California Smog checked. If not, I will not bother with this. This is a solid running car. It has that great older Volvo stable road feel. The car has factory air conditioning. It needs a charge. There is a small-palm sized push in on the RL front fender. The rear area carpeting has faded. It has a cover over it. If you are coming from out of state and want me to warehouse this for you, I can store it for a month or two if that will help you. This Volvo has Gabriel gas shocks, an IPD sway bar in the rear, a new clutch cable and new overdrive relay. I am in Southern California, about a half hour north of San Diego. Call me to make a deal and I will close this listing. Call Jack at: 760-481-8710. |

Roger Moore dies at 89; a look back at his automotive moments
Tue, May 23 2017According to Reuters, actor Roger Moore passed away this morning. The news source reports he died of cancer at age 89. Moore has a place in automotive enthusiasts' hearts thanks to his connection to some of the most famous onscreen cars in history. He portrayed James Bond in multiple films, perhaps most famously in The Spy Who Loved Me, in which his Bond piloted an amphibious Lotus Esprit. That car inspired many, even Elon Musk, who purchased the submarine version of the car. He also included it as an Easter egg in the Tesla Model S. That wasn't the only memorable Moore automotive moment. In two other Bond films, his character was involved in some remarkable stunts. In The Man with the Golden Gun, Moore's Bond drives an AMC Hornet over a ramp and does a barrel roll. Although cheesy, the stunt did happen. According to The Telegraph, a Cornell University aeronautical computer ran a simulation of the stunt and calculated the variables (such as the proper speed: 40 mph). Then British stuntman Loren "Bumps" Willard executed the roll on the first take, earning a GBP30,000 bonus. Which is a lot of money for a scene that uses a slide whistle as a sound effect. Moore is also associated with a great car thanks to his other famous role on the TV show The Saint. In that series, he drove the beautiful and unusual Volvo P1800 coupe. The car was enough of an icon that Jay Leno featured it on his Jay Leno's Garage series. Related Video:

Geely to release models developed with Volvo in 2015
Thu, 22 Aug 2013Geely and Volvo will finally team up for a jointly developed vehicle, more than three years after the safety-minded Swedish brand was gobbled up by Geely's parent company, according to a report in Automotive News Europe. The story quotes Geely's CEO, Gui Sheng Yue saying, "We have entered into actual research and development stage and I believe we can see the new product in the year after next."
That means 2015, which is a mighty ambitious timetable to bring a vehicle to market. But as Geely's CEO explains, life isn't going to get any easier in the Chinese market, "Competitive pressure on domestic brands in the China market should increase considerably in the coming years as most major international brands are strengthening their presence," he told ANE. Those statements also tell us that we shouldn't expect to see Geely on American shores any time soon. The brand is simply too focused on topping the Chinese market, at least among CDM brands.
