Built 08/74. I purchased this car out of the Oscar Zernickow estate in Starkville Ms. (2009) along with a couple of VW's (check out classicvwbugs.com). I had plans of restoring it. I carried it to A&R Imports in Starkville, Ms. They pulled the fuel tank and cleaned it, hooked up a temp. fuel tank, added a battery and fired it up. It ran very well but the fuel distributer leaked like crazy..... A&R bought two used ones but both of them leaked... A new one is $750.00 (shop cost).... I cant go further.. Car is all original. What you see is what you get. I do NOT have a title. I have a title bonds man in Ms. that could get me a title for a fee.... If you know a guy, good for you, but, IT DOES NOT HAVE A TITLE... Car is being sold for parts. Front windshield is cracked. Interior is complete but sun faded. All trim is in good shape. It only has three hubcaps. Scrap price is around $350.00 (that is reserve). Wife says its going to scrap yard if it don't sell.... If you like Volvos', Volkswagens, or BMWs' check out Oscar, he was a very interesting person. Car was originally parked (1994) due to a bad rear (drivers side) wheel bearing after a trip to Arkansas. Thank you and good luck!

Autoblog Podcast #317:
Polestar looking to tune Volvo CUVs
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Volvo is getting serious about emerging from the fringes and into the mainstream of the luxury automobile market. But if it's going to challenge the Germans, it's going to need a performance line. And that's just what it's developing with Polestar.
Building on the motorsport partnership that has seen Polestar represent Volvo in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars series, Polestar has been charged with developing road-going performance Volvos as well. It currently offers comprehensively tuned versions of the S60 and V60, as well as engine upgrades for other models, but the latest word has it that Polestar will turn its attention next to tuning Volvo crossovers like the XC60 and the new XC90, pictured above in top-spec R-Design trim.
Details on how Volvo would modify those models remain to be determined, but it wouldn't be much of a stretch to imagine the XC60 outfitted with similar enhancements to those offered on its sedan and wagon stablemates to mount a challenge to the Audi SQ5. As for the larger XC90, it seems Volvo is already squeezing as much out of its new 2.0-liter triple-charged inline-four as it can, but more aggressive handling, aero and brakes could stand to transform the flagship crossover in pursuit of performance utes like the Mercedes ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M, even if it couldn't quite match their impressive horsepower outputs.
Volvo EX90 exterior teased further, goes heavy on glass and aero
Wed, Nov 2 2022How about six more teasers of the battery-electric, seven-seat Volvo EX90 SUV? We've heard about the new interior materials, seen renderings of the minimalist instrument panel and read about a massive commitment to safety inside and outside the SUV. Now we have scraps about what it took to put everything together within the aesthetic Volvo sought and a mission statement of "confident, sophisticated, and seamless." The rounder grille-less front fascia flows over the hood to a greenhouse heavy on flush glass. A large, tinted panoramic glass roof lets in just enough light without superheating the cabin and without robbing headroom. The side glazing is flush with the pillars and nearly flush with the sides of the car to improve aerodynamic efficiency. Flush door handles emerge as the keyholder approaches. Volvo says the EX90 posts a drag coefficient of 0.29, a figure that compares to 0.26 for the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV and 0.24 for the Tesla Model X that, admittedly, offers tiny optional third-row seats. Speaking with Motor Trend, lead Volvo exterior designer T. Jon Mayer said the other side of letting lots of light in the cabin is creating an inviting atmosphere when there's lots of dark in the cabin. "We’ve put a lot of effort into the illumination inside the EX90, trying to create a warm interior and a somewhat colder expression for the exterior," he said, making an analogy with the Swedish climate and Swedish people. The Lidar sensor plays its part in a new level of safety and in aerodynamics. Placed at the leading edge of the roof, the Luminar sensor sits under a teardrop-shaped glass enclosure about 18 inches wide, under two inches tall. The laser system comes standard, helping provide 360-degree awareness so that the EX90 can always pay attention and take appropriate safe actions at those times when the driver isn't paying attention. Volvo says that tying exterior sensor safety logic to in-cabin cameras that can tell if a driver is focused on the task "can reduce the risk of death or serious injury by up to 20%." We've just seven days to go until Volvo mandarins gather in Stockholm to reveal the car to launch the automaker's next phase. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
