2007 Volkswagen Touareg Awd Suv 4-door 3.6l on 2040-cars
Summerville, South Carolina, United States
NO RESERVE - Opening Bid is $3k less than book value for quick sale! If you've never driven a Touareg you should test drive one before buying anything else Check out my 100% POSITIVE feedback (500+ transactions) This has been a fantastic vehicle for us; we absolutely love it and hate to sell it but I got a deal I couldn't pass up on an almost new Volvo C70 so reluctantly the Touareg has to go. Since we got a good deal we are selling this vehicle below value. NEW BRAKES This one is fully loaded with all the standard features plus a long list of options listed. I have the clean title in hand. There is nothing at all wrong with this vehicle in any way. It has never seen snow, never been smoked and never been in an accident. VEHICLE IS ALSO LISTED FOR SALE on AUTO TRADER.com I reserve the right to end this auction early if I get a committed buyer via the Auto Trader ad. NOTES: There is a small door ding I can send a photo of if needed and a spot on the under side front bumper/ drivers side where there is a paint nick and some paint cracking. We don't know what from, we assume someone bumped it while parking in front of it in a parking lot?? The last photo shows what I'm talking about (hard to see). If you run a CarFax report you will see that the windshield was damaged and the vehicle had to be towed - that is the result of a baseball (foul ball) hitting right in the middle of the windshield on the drivers side while parked in the parking lot. SHIPPING/ PICK-UP: I will be glad to assist you as needed with pick-up/ delivery. I can pick you up at the Charleston, SC airport or help you with finding someone to transport and be sure I am here when they arrive to load.

VW budget sub-brand stuck in limbo over VW standards, costs
Sun, Mar 2 2014Reports in October 2012 claimed Volkswagen had begun investigating the creation of its own budget brand. This came after having failed to purchase Malaysian car company Proton or produce a meaningful partnership with Suzuki, and after watching Renault-Nissan make piles of euro on Dacia and plot the return of Datsun. For VW, more important than the question of what to call it was how to build it profitably and in a way that didn't damage the VW brand. According to a report in Autocar, a satisfactory answer still hasn't been found. The hurdle is how to hit "'necessary' quality and safety levels" at the price points needed to make the venture worthwhile. At the time of the 2012 report, German outlet Der Spiegel said VW was trying to get prices down to 6,000 to 8,000 euro ($7,784 to $10,379 US), about two thousand to four thousand euro under the price of the VW Up and in line with the cost of a 6,790-euro Dacia Sandero in Germany. In March 2013, VW announced, "We want to bring a true budget car to the market in China in the foreseeable future," the most concrete move in that direction after years of planning to make a decision. Working with local Chinese maker FAW, it was predicted that the vehicle in question would appear around 2016, but as of November last year a final vote on it needed to wait until this year because "We are still working on the cost side" and profit possibilities for a car that "has to be durable, it has to be precise, it has to be safe." Even Fiat, another automaker long considering a budget brand beneath its Fiat line-up, wasn't sure how to squeeze any extra money from lower-cost products but was sure that it couldn't be done by manufacturing in Europe. If VW hasn't yet made the math work with a joint venture in China, it will be interesting to see how it might build a European go-it-alone business case.
Toyota reclaims global sales crown, GM and VW not far behind
Mon, 28 Jan 2013TheDetroitBureau.com reports Toyota has retaken the global sales crown. The Japanese automaker turned out 9.75 million vehicles last year, putting it just ahead of General Motors, with 9.29 million vehicles. Volkswagen, meanwhile, filled out the podium by building 9.1 million units in 2012.
Still, Toyota numbers fell just below projections the automaker made earlier in the year, due largely to a fierce territorial dispute between Japan and China that has seen mainland buyers shun Japanese goods. But the news marks a substantial comeback for Toyota. The company fell to third place in the global production race in 2011 after tragic earthquake and tsunami caused several plant closures.
In Japan, Toyota enjoyed a sales increase of 35 percent over the previous year, while the company's worldwide sales jumped by 23 percent thanks in part to new additions to the Prius line. The automaker is forecasting yet another increase for 2013, with the company projecting to reach 9.91 million units this year. Neither Volkswagen nor GM have released their own projections just yet.
VW LogBox and Race App performance data logger for R models [w/video]
Tue, Dec 30 2014Now that it's got a 300-horsepower Golf R to brag about, Volkswagen wants you to be able to brag about it accurately with the LogBox and Race App performance data logging combo. Plug the LogBox into your VW's OBD II port and it sends data over BlueTooth to the Race App, measuring variables like acceleration, distance, G-force and engine performance. If you're on a circuit, it uses Google Maps to make a map of the track, and you can record live video in-app to match with the data. Volkswagen says the LogBox will be available for R models and "a range of further Volkswagen cars," so you'll want to hit up your dealer with questions before ordering. It's available from the VW accessories store for 299 euros ($365 US), but right now the free app is only available in German, in the German-language iTunes and Google Play store. We imagine that will be corrected shortly; in the meantime, the video can show you how it works.
