NO RESERVE----

I purchased this VWThing in St. Petersburg, FL.   in 1992-

The original owner was a member of the family of the St. Petersburg, FL, O'Brien Motors, located at 4650 34 St. N> St. Pete, FL, the local VW dealer. ( SEE Photos)

The vehicle entered USA in Jacksonville, FL.  Trucked to Tampa to Lyndell Volkswagen, then transferred to the  St. Pete Dealership where some dealer changes were made.
There they installed the Air Conditioning system,   The Compressor and other components are included,  they also installed the glove compartment and the front tow bar.
The rear spare tire was added by my son in law.

History-
I had the VW to use with my Winnebago- then my daughter got married and her husband fell in love with the "VW" he had it for about three years - he had it painted from original white to Ceylon Beige- a very expensive paint job- and he installed a CD player, and the rear spare tire hardware-  and a new floor pan, and convertible top.   He bought some lattice wooden floor mat, plus a Sony CD player with 4 HD speakers. you can play your MP player also.  There is no rust-( see under chassis photo),  and runs like a champion,

Well, Garage space became a problem for him, so about a year ago I inherited the "THING" back and I have kept in the garage - I kept the 1992 receipts of some of the original repairs, and my son in law did the same.  The air conditioner is not working since it  needs the belt and the two long hoses from the front to the compressor. - In reality I never used the AC. since I hardly used the windows.

The windows are the original ones, they have been fixed a couple of times but they keep the water out. (see photos)
We have most of the early repairs receipts - SEE PHOTOS

Please if you want to see it running- visit  http://youtu.be/GuKpY1LNAao

Any questions.. please ask, so you can buy with confidence.
SOLD AS IS,  NO GUARANTEE  LOOK AND ASK QUESTIONS  - NEVER IN AN ACCIDENT_
THIS IS ONE OF A KIND +
ORIGINAL JACK AND TOOL KIT _ ALSO Convertible top Guard and cover - original.  ORIGINAL and Unique map light inside the glover box .
The car was not detailed for the photos,  it will be waxed and cleaned after auction.  NOTE,  IT CAN BE TOWED HOME or UHAULED

Next-gen Volkswagen Golf R spied while running the 'Ring

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

The launch of a new Volkswagen Golf is never a small thing, and things are already looking up for the subcompact hatchback after it was named 2013 World Car of the Year. While we've already seen the base and GTI versions of the next-generation Golf, now we're getting our first look at the sportier Golf R.
Although this prototype wears GTI lettering on the front fenders, it's more than just the roll cage and Sparco racing seat hinting that this is something a little more serious. Unlike the Golf and GTI, this car shows that the Golf R will continue to flaunt massive air intakes on each side of the fascia, and the rear of the car (though it's hard to see) has quadruple exhaust outlets. We still don't have an official word on power, but rumors indicate that the next Golf R could be pushing close to 300 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Golf ever. As much fun as we had during our first drive of the Golf R Cabriolet in the cold, snowy French Riviera last month, more power is a warming idea.

VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine

Sat, 07 Sep 2013

Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.

Scott Pruitt unfiltered: EPA administrator talks climate science, car emissions

Tue, Jul 18 2017

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt gave Reuters a wide-ranging interview on Monday at his office in Washington, discussing issues from climate science to automobile emissions. The following is a full transcript of the interview: REUTERS: You have said the EPA will focus on a "Back to Basics" approach under your leadership. What does this mean for how EPA enforces polluters? You have been critical of the idea of regulation by enforcement. PRUITT: I think what I'm speaking about, there is a consent decree approach to enforcement, where you use judicial proceedings to actually engage in regulation. Enforcement should be about existing regulations that you're actually enforcing against someone who may be violating that, very much in the prosecutorial manner. As attorney general [in Oklahoma], I lived that. There was a grand jury that I led. Being a prosecutor, I understand very much the importance of prioritization, of enforcing the rule of law, of addressing bad actors. That's something we are going to do in a meaningful way across the broad spectrum of cases, whether it is in the office of air or the Superfund area, or otherwise. REUTERS: Do you want to see states play a bigger role in enforcing polluters, even though some have less of a capacity to do so – financially and personnel wise? PRUITT: I think the state's role is really, when you look at this office working with states, it should be how do we assist, how do we engage in compliance and assistance with states. The office [at EPA that deals with enforcement] is called OECA, the Office of Enforcement, Compliance and Assistance, so those are the tools we have in the toolbox to achieve better outcomes. So what we ought to be doing is working proactively with state DEQs [Departments of Environmental Quality] to get their state implementation plans [for federal regulations] timely submitted, provide assistance and technical support, drive a draft of state implementation plans, and then actually work with them on how to achieve through those plans better outcomes and air and water quality. As far as enforcement is concerned, we will actually work with states. We actually did that recently with Colorado. There was an oil and gas company that was emitting some 3,000 tons, is that what it was, it was quite a bit of ... it was an ozone case. In any event, we joined with Colorado in that prosecution. So sometimes states will do it, sometimes we will join with them.
