For sale is my 2007 VW Rabbit 2-Door in Reflex Silver with Grey cloth interior.  There are 54,500 miles at the moment which is low for this year, normally you would see over 70k.  Mechanically the car is 100% and the body & paint are in very good condition, all electronics are working, the AC is cold, the pw/pd/ps/pb are also 100%.  This car has a 5-speed manual transmission and the clutch is in full working order.  All maintenance has been done on the car including the 42k service and oil changes have been done with VW's Euro-spec long drain formula.  Front & rear pads were replaced two summers ago.  I drive 1.5 miles to the train and back then 2 miles to the gym so my weekly use is very limited and I've taken very good care of this car.

Upgrades include larger Neuspeed rear sway bar, Eurosport front chassis brace, Neuspeed P-Flo intake, Magnaflow cat back exhaust, ECS tuning aluminum crank pulley, full suspension swap (Autohaus springs/shocks) and 17" VW Denvers with Toyo high performance all seasons that have less than 10k miles on them.  The upgrades have made the car handle better and more enjoyable to drive and I think you will agree after driving a stock Rabbit.

No joy rides please, payment accepted is certified cashier's check or cash.  I have the clean title, all sales are final, thank you for looking.  T
he car is also for sale locally, I forgot to add this when I posted the listing.  If it sells before the auction ends I will remove from Ebay.

*If you are interested then please contact me, looking to sell quickly, thanks.

VW Jetta TDI Value Edition drops price of diesel ownership to $21,295*

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Getting a new diesel-powered car just got a bit easier. Volkswagen has announced a new Jetta TDI Value Edition for 2014 that trims over $2,000 off the starting price of a Jetta TDI, making the most affordable diesel-powered car in America even more so. Prices start at $21,295 (*plus $820 for destination) for a Value Edition with a six-speed manual transmission, while a six-speed dual-clutch automatic adds $1,100 to the price. For that money, owners will get 140 horsepower, 236 pound-feet of torque and 42 miles per gallon on the freeway.
Despite the lower price and being down on content versus the previous base Jetta TDI, the Value Edition does come quite well equipped, with standard heated cloth seats, a six-speaker stereo with a Media Device Interface, satellite radio, and one-touch, up-down power windows on all four doors. Customers will be giving up some notable stuff though, including tilt/telescopic steering, Bluetooth streaming audio, power seats and a multi-function steering wheel.
Still, if you're aching to get your hands on a new TDI, this is now the most affordable way to do it. We suspect having the lower MSRP will help the German manufacturer make even further diesel-powered inroads here in the States, a land where they cleared their decks of over 100,000 TDI models in 2013.

VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years

Sun, 26 May 2013

It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.
You'll find the official hand-clapping in the press release below.

VW Golf GTI wrung out by Chris Harris

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Enthusiasts like nothing more than to crucify modern interpretations of their favorite performance models for failing to live up to some imagined ethos. Even the Volkswagen GTI has suffered its fair share of slings and arrows for growing in size and curb weight. Chris Harris recently spent some time with the all-new MK VII GTI to find out if growing up means giving up on what makes the machine so special.
Judging by his comments, Harris certainly doesn't think so. Yes, the new GTI is considerably more comfortable than its predecessors, but that's hardly a bad thing. The multitude of driving modes actually seem to add depth to the car rather than simply try to force one tool to do many jobs, and Harris even finds the machine's electronic power steering tolerable. As a result, Harris goes so far as to call the Volkswagen GTI "one of the best cars to actually own." How's that for high praise? You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
