1980 Vw Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup Truck 1.6l Diesel Engine on 2040-cars
Hendersonville, North Carolina, United States
Red 1980 VW Rabbit Truck. Driven by my grandfather for several years then passed on to me. This is an awesome truck that gets about 52 miles to the gallon. The odometer reads 365,114 miles, but new engine was installed approximately 20,000 miles ago. I have installed a new clutch and new glow plugs recently. It was painted this past July, but does have some scratches already on the new paint job. It is a 5 speed manual transmission. Comes with aluminum tool box and camo seat covers. There are some rips in the seats. The dash has some cracks, but has a dash cover on it. There is a crack in the windshield, but just had a state inspection in July and passed just fine. The truck bed was also painted with Herculiner in July. There is some rust on the body. Please feel free to ask any questions.
Must pick up in Hendersonville, NC within 7 days of auction end. $500 due via Paypal at auction end. The balance due in CASH when vehicle is picked up. |

2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet
Thu, 07 Mar 2013The Golf VI's Last Hurrah Is Pure Niche
This was in the heart of the ultra-chic Côte d'Azur during winter. The car to be tested was the not-for-North America 2013 Volkswagen Golf R Cabriolet. Prevailing weather conditions here this time of year are bizarrely pleasant, as though a dome of Swarovski crystal has been placed over the entire region to protect it from any real winter spoiling things. And the zippy Golf R Cabriolet is a sports car designed precisely for this area's preciously narrow winding streets, as well as for the lofty budgets of its property owners.
So then why was it snowing like we were in northern Michigan? The weather front hit from the north like a swift kick to the Jordaches. The roof was open on this Candy White Golf R Cabrio and I, as is my wont, was determined through thick or thin to keep it retracted. It had been raining and sometimes sleeting like the End of Days, but I kept the lid cracked because the 261-horsepower cabrio - the most powerful convertible ever built by Volkswagen - was snipping along nicely as the bad weather blew over my head and wetted only the rear headrests.
Volkswagen sketches Geneva-bound concept
Wed, Feb 25 2015Volkswagen has released a pair of sketches that give us our first official glimpse at the company's new concept car, set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Details are slim – the car doesn't even have a name yet – but we do have some facts about VW's swoopy new showcar. First off, it's a sedan – well, "four-door coupe" – but is said to have a hatchback configuration. Autoblog has also learned that the car will be powered by a hybrid powertrain, using a TSI gasoline engine paired with two electric motors, and uses an all-wheel-drive configuration that's likely similar to that in the recently unveiled Cross Coupe GTE concept. Volkswagen says this showcar uses a new, progressive design language for the brand. And while it sort of looks like a dead ringer for a new CC, we're told this concept is positioned above that model. For now, that's all we know, but we expect a host of other details to be released closer to the car's official debut in Geneva next week. Stay tuned.
