2008 Volkswagen R32 V6 250hp 6-speed Dsg Awd Vw on 2040-cars
Keller, Texas, United States
Selling my 2008 R32. Color is Deep Blue Pearl and interior is Anthracite Leather. Everything works perfectly, runs strong and the transmission shifts smooth and fast. Very few of these around as these were pretty rare vehicles to begin with ( only 5000 imported to the US by VW and mine was imported by the previous owner straight from Germany ). NADA puts it at $18,025 retail and $15,175 clean trade-in. It has some wear ( mostly some scuffing in the rear bumper that can barely be seen and can barely even be photographed and some wheel curbrash from the previous owner ) and is not a 2014 model with zero miles but it is in very good condition and you can get it for less than book value.
3.2L V6 with 250hp 6 speed DSG transmission ( ultra fast shifting ) All Wheel Drive 86K miles Kenwood DDX719 touchscreen DVD radio Rear wiper delete ( have the parts if you wish to reinstall ) Center resonator removed Tein Lowering Springs ( rides like stock, lowered about 1.25" ) Clear side markers 10mm front/ 15mm rear spacers DSG/Haldex/Airfilter done about 5000 miles ago Oil changed about 500 miles ago New tires about 2000 miles ago ( still look new ) Leather seats and steering wheel looks almost new! Drives great, steers straight, brakes hard and accelerates hard if needed. May be the only blue one in the DFW area ( Haven't seen any other ). |

2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring
Wed, 22 May 2013The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
Toyota reclaims global sales crown, GM and VW not far behind
Mon, 28 Jan 2013TheDetroitBureau.com reports Toyota has retaken the global sales crown. The Japanese automaker turned out 9.75 million vehicles last year, putting it just ahead of General Motors, with 9.29 million vehicles. Volkswagen, meanwhile, filled out the podium by building 9.1 million units in 2012.
Still, Toyota numbers fell just below projections the automaker made earlier in the year, due largely to a fierce territorial dispute between Japan and China that has seen mainland buyers shun Japanese goods. But the news marks a substantial comeback for Toyota. The company fell to third place in the global production race in 2011 after tragic earthquake and tsunami caused several plant closures.
In Japan, Toyota enjoyed a sales increase of 35 percent over the previous year, while the company's worldwide sales jumped by 23 percent thanks in part to new additions to the Prius line. The automaker is forecasting yet another increase for 2013, with the company projecting to reach 9.91 million units this year. Neither Volkswagen nor GM have released their own projections just yet.
Help a couple drive their 1984 Vanagon around the world
Mon, 22 Apr 2013Meet Brad, Sheena and Nacho
Driving through China is a pricey proposition. The couple will need to pony up a staggering $19,514 just to cover the fees.
Brad and Sheena Van Orden are in the midst of a life-defining campaign to travel around the world, and they're doing it in a 1984 Volkswagen Vanagon custom built for the occasion. The past 15 months have seen the couple quit their jobs with Gore-Tex and drive from Arizona to the very southern tip of Argentina after spending a full two years saving and preparing for the trek. Now they're in southern Asia gearing up for the next leg of their journey.
