REASON FOR SELLING I NEED THIS CAR OUT OF A SHOP THEY ARE MOVING STUFF OUT ITS STORED THERE AND I HAVE NO OTHER PLACE TO PUT IT AND CANT HAVE 2 CARS THERE AND I WILL NOT LET THIS CAR SIT OUTSIDE ALL YEAR AROUND. I HAVE ANOTHER SUMMER CAR THAT IM CHOOSING OVER THIS ONE ONLY REASON IS CAUSE ITS A COMPLETE SHOW CAR AND NO REASON TO HAVE 3 CARS IT GETS EXPENSIVE AND DONT REALLY WANT TO DO THAT ALSO OUT OF TOWN ALOT FOR WORK DURING THE SUMMER SO THIS IS JUST THE BEST MOVE FOR ME TO LET THE CAR GO.
ONLY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IS CAM POSITION SENSOR POPS ON AND OFF RANDOMLY IM ASSUMING SENSOR IS GOING BAD OR ENGINE SPEED SENSOR IS GOING IT SAYS ITS ONE OF THE TWO SENSORS THAT ARE ON THERE WAY OUT OR COMPLETELY DIRTY JUST STARTED TO DO I DO NOT WANT TO PUT ANY MONEY INTO THIS AS MY BUISNESS IS TAKING UP MOST MY MONEY STARTING IT UP. CAR RUNS AND DRIVE I CAN GET A VIDEO OF IT DRIVING AND RUNNING ANY TIME. IM NEVER AROUND OR HAVE TIME TO SWITCH OUT THE SENSORS AND THATS THE REASON WHY IM NOT TRYING TO GET REDICULOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR IT IM REASONIBLE. CAR USE TO HAVE A TURBO SET UP ON IT WAS TAKEN OFF AND ALL NEW GASKETS WERE DONE TO IT ALSO NEW FANS AND NEW INJECTORS NO SHORT CUTS WERE TAKEN TO GET THIS BACK TO STOCK. SPENT A LOT OF MONEY TO GET THAT WAY THE TURBO WAS ONLY ON THE CAR FOR 3000 MILES OVER THE PAST SUMMER SHOWS HOW MUCH I DRIVE DURING THE SUMMER. I CAN SHOW ANYONE THAT THE CAR WILL DRIVE AND NOT GIVE ANY PROBLEMS TO THAT PERSON.
CAR WILL NOT COME WITH WHEELS UNLESS THE BID GETS UPWARD TOWARDS 9000$ OR 1200$ ON TOP OF THE ENDING BID. PLEASE DONT WASTE MY TIME AS IM NOT HERE TO WASTE YOURS. I DONT HAVE THE TIME TO LISTEN TO TRADE OFFERS OR LOW BALL OFFERS SO PLEASE IF YOUR NOT BIDDING I DONT WANT TO LISTEN TO OFFERS. ITS SET LOW ENOUGH IM TAKING WHAT IT IS AS I NEED TO MOVE IT BY THE END OF THE MONTH.
CAR IS SOLD AS IS IF YOU GET A COMPANY TO PICK UP THE CAR AND THEY HIT SOMETHING THATS ON THEM NOT ME AS THE CAR LEAVES THE SHOP IM NOT RESONISBLE TO WHAT HAPPENS TO IT. I ONLY WILL GIVE A GAURENTEE TO THE CAR WILL START RUN AND DRIVE WITH NO PROBLEM.

Former Audi chief designer Wolfgang Egger leaves Italdesign
Sat, Dec 27 2014The latest word from the international community of automotive designers has it that Wolfgang Egger is leaving Italdesign, but just where the accomplished designer will land next and who will take his place remain big question marks. Egger is a designer who has bounced back and forth between Italy and Germany over the course of his career. He was born in Germany but studied in Milan. He began his career at Alfa Romeo in 1989 and was named its chief designer by 1993 before being head-hunted by the Volkswagen Group in 1998 to head up the design department at Seat. A few years later he went returned to Italy to run the Lancia design department, and was subsequently renamed to the same post at Alfa Romeo. In 2007 he went back to his native Germany to head up the Audi design office, over which he assumed complete responsibility by 2012, but left Audi in 2013 to run Italdesign. For those unfamiliar, Italdesign is the studio founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro (pictured at left next to Egger) back in 1968 but which, along with many other Italian design houses, fell on hard times in recent years. The Volkswagen Group swooped in to rescue the troubled studio in 2010, turning it into something of an in-house advanced design department to provide an alternative perspective on the direction in which the group and its various brands could take their respective designs moving forward. With Egger now leaving its helm, Italdesign and its German parent company will need to find his replacement, and we're sure they'll announce one in due course. The bigger question on our minds, however, is where Egger himself will head next. Given the path his career has taken to date, we wouldn't be surprised to see him land elsewhere in the Volkswagen Group or find a new role in the expanding Fiat Chrysler Automobiles empire. Then again, Egger could find it time to open an entirely new chapter. Watch this space. Get ready to Camino-ize your fourth-generation VW Jetta with this kit
Tue, 05 Aug 2014Inexpensive, small pickup trucks used to be everywhere in the US, whether they were from Japanese brands like Datsun or Toyota, the truly weird Subaru Brat or even from Europe with the Volkswagen Caddy based on the Golf. These days that market has completely disappeared, but if you're willing to pick up some tools to build your own, there's a company out there bringing the Caddy back as a kit for the Jetta.
Mark Smith knows a thing about building a vehicle at home. He has over two decades in the DIY-car business as a co-founder of Local Motors and the company that became Factory Five Racing. His latest venture is Smyth Performance and already offers a mid-engine, VW-based kit called the G3F. His new product, though, started as a fluke. "I just wanted a shop truck," said Smith to Autoblog. He already had a Ford F-450 but found that he was driving around with the bed empty most of the time. The result was a pickup truck based on the fourth-generation Jetta that he dubbed the Ute.
The kit retails for $3,500 and ships in three, big boxes, and it's designed to be built and painted in a weekend. Buyers get fiberglass exterior panels, a fiberglass rear window surround, sliding rear window, an aluminum reinforced bed with a tubular steel subframe, taillights, a fully functional steel tailgate, and other parts. In the end, you get a vehicle with a six-foot bed and a payload of around 700-750 pounds. The Ute maintains all of the factory suspension, fuel tank and emissions equipment and requires just a few cuts in the body to complete. "We did a modern Caddy," admits Smith.
Lamando is Chinese for VW Jetta CC [w/video]
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. In the meantime you can scope it out in the trippy video below and the photos in the gallery above.
