This vehicle is in top running condition.  It has been well-maintained, and is ready for a new owner to drive it for the rest of its long life.  We purchased the car CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) from our VW dealer, and they have done all the maintenance on the car.  No smokers and no pets have been in the car; it is clean.

With the power of the V6, and the good gas mileage (21 city / 28 hwy), you can't find a better blend of power, efficiency and comfort.

This wagon has a premium package (power everything, alloy wheels, leatherette interior, roof rack rails, moon roof, mp3 CD changer, satellite radio, collapsible rear seats, storage compartment cover, etc.)  In addition to its trim package, we had the dealer apply an interior and exterior protective coating that prevents spills & tears on the interior, and scratches and rust on the exterior and undercarriage.

With only 67,600 miles, this car has been well-loved.

Serious inquiries only, please.

NA auto output to reach 11-year peak

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

According to Automotive News, automakers are expected to manufacture 16 million light vehicles in North America in 2013. That's up 500,000 units from last year and marks the largest number since 2002. The prediction comes courtesy of LMC Automotive and IHS Automotive, which point to the improving US economy as a bellwether for total production. LMC Automotive says North America will produce 16 million vehicles while IHS has a slightly more optimistic forecast of 16.1 million units. A total of seven automakers are slated to increase production on the continent this year. Nissan is set to see the largest jump at 20 percent over last year.
Volkswagen, meanwhile, is one of the only manufacturers predicted to scale back production. Analysts expect the German company's output to fall by 23 percent to 170,000 units, thanks in part to slow demand for the Volkswagen Passat and Jetta.

VW recalls 1.1M Jetta, Beetle models in US, China over suspension fears

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Volkswagen is recalling about 1.1 million vehicles in China and North America in a newly announced campaign affecting the rear suspensions on some models. For the US, the action covers about 442,265 vehicles, including 400,602 examples of its 2011-2013 Jetta and 41,663 units of the 2012-2013 Beetle and Beetle Convertible. According to Reuters, the recall affects a further 126,000 vehicles in Canada and about 581,090 in China, including related market-specific models like the Sagitar.
The problem can occur if the affected models have a collision to the rear or the side-rear of the vehicle. It's then possible for the trailing arms on the torsion-beam rear suspension to be damaged. If the harm isn't noticed, then the part could fracture while driving. Obviously, a broken rear suspension is going to have an adverse effect on handling.
To fix things, VW dealers will inspect the trailing arms on the models, and they will all receive a sheetmetal part that will make a distinctive sound if broken in the future. If already damaged, the entire torsion beam will be replaced. Obviously, this work will be done at no charge to owners.

Volkswagen Golf Variant will make a lovely Jetta SportWagen

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

In addition to several other versions of the Golf, Volkswagen is debuting the new Golf Variant (read: wagon) here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. And if this bigger version of the Golf looks like it might fit right at home in the States, it's because we could possibly see some version of this car as the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here on our shores.
Volkswagen is debuting the Golf Variant with two efficient diesel engines, rated at 110 and 150 horsepower, the smaller of which is good for an impressive 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle (when mated to a six-speed manual transmission). The Golf Variant also gets a version of Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, making it incredibly all-weather capable.
It's a handsome estate, and it wears the new Golf's design language well. We can't say for sure if this car will actually make its way Stateside, but given the fact that the current Jetta SportWagen still rides on the old Golf platform, the odds look to be in our favor.
