2006 Vw Passat 3.6 V6 4motion Sport Pkg Awd Loaded on 2040-cars
Burlington, Wisconsin, United States
2006 VW Passat 3.6 4Motion (All Wheel Drive) with Sport Package (not the slow-poke Luxury pkg as the title states, Ebay wouldn't let me change the title)
This car has been well maintained, VERY reliable - never had any major mechanical problems. Always serviced regularly (records available) and I run only synthetic oil through it.
Always garaged.
I am a non-smoker and have owned the car since 79,000 miles/2010 (Highway miles since then to the airport and back).
I'm only the 2nd owner. Have lots of manuals and all the original books ect.
I recently purchased brand new 2nd key fob from VW for $270 so now have two (one as a back-up that has never been used). Both keys are programmed and ready to go. Have lots of maintenance receipts.
This is not a perfect car, but it is extremely well cared for.
The wheels up close do have some rash on them. There is also 1 small (hard to find) dent right behind the drivers exterior door handle. A few minor small knicks but nothing major. The Blue Book value for the car with these miles and options is $8,300 (Good) $8,600 (Very Good) and $9,100 (Excellent)
Recent Extreme Contour DWS tires this winter.
Car is driven to and from the office, and also to the airport picking up clients. That's about all it does. EVERYTHING WORKS Flawlessly! Windows, sunroof, cruise control, powerful 6 CD changer Stereo system. The only thing that just recently started acting up is the GPS screen and I have just ordered a refurbished unit that just arrived today. The current installed unit never had the nav CD (I always use my phone so never cared) and the radio & 6 CD Changer function perfectly, just the right side of the screen shrinks as you can see in picture. I will be including the refurbished unit with the car and you can decide whether to install it or not. Again, i wouldn't have ordered the replacement unit if i weren't selling, but figured people would complain so i just bought it. It is not a NEW unit, it was removed from another Passat and has been successfully function tested by the seller.
Probably the best car i have ever driven in the winter, the AWD is unbelievable. I am 6'7" tall and now need an SUV for more cargo space My wife wants me to buy an SUV as a back-up mini-van for our huge double stroller ect :( Going to miss the sporty-ness of this tight car, it GOES!!! Tons of power especially when you put it in "S" sport mode, trust me. My family buys and sells corporate aircraft for a living so honesty in selling an airplane can be a difference in life and death as you can imagine. I take on the same level of honesty when selling a car as well and I don't like being surprised when going to look at an airplane or car so you shouldn't be surprised either with this one. it's a sharp, very clean car as pictures illustrate. Car is going in for the 140,000 mile VW factory maintenance check-up. Car has no annunciator lights on, no Excuses car that anyone would be PROUD to own!
I have clear Wisconsin title in my name, ready to be signed over to new owner. I can help with any reasonable transportation/shipping to load it up on a trailer if needed here in Burlington if you are not able to be here.
Any questions, please email. Car is available for viewing in Burlington, Wisconsin at our office/corporate hangar 9-5 weekdays. Keywords: Volkswagen, VW, Passat, All-Wheel-Drive, Sedan, Sports sedan, Mercedes, VW Jetta, TDI, BMW, Audi A4, Audi A6, Winter Tires |

Volkswagen Group, BMW Z4 top Total Value Awards by Strategic Vision
Tue, 11 Dec 2012It was just nine months ago that Strategic Vision announced its 2011 Total Value Awards, but you don't have to wait until next year for the 2012 awards. The Volkswagen Group keeps its lead as the number one brand, with seven products taking top category spots: Golf, Jetta Wagon, CC, Eos and Audi A3 Wagon, Q5 and Q7. Strategic Vision says "true innovation" - "rich and impactful, intuitive, motivational, in-depth and is able to trigger description by the user in great specificity" - is the open secret of the brands with the strongest showings. Results are culled from 77,153 owners covering more than 350 new cars bought between September of 2011 and 2012 ranked in the Total Value Index (TVI).
Other notable winners are Hyundai-Kia following VW in the brand category and having the Hyundai Elantra and Kia Sorento among category winners, the BMW Z4 taking the premium roadster category and the highest overall score of any vehicle, the Chevrolet Volt continuing to gather silverware in the Special Category, nabbing the second-highest score of all and representative of "nearly perfect innovation," and Chrysler and Dodge being most improved.
Check out the press release below for your day's dose of jargon and all the winners.
Volkswagen drops "GTi" lawsuit against Suzuki
Tue, 02 Oct 2012Way back in 2004, Volkswagen took umbrage with Suzuki being granted permission to use the nameplate "SWIFT GTi" for a performance variant of its small-car offering (2012 equivalent seen here). Now, eight years and surely some very steep legal bills later, VW has finally dropped its claim against Suzuki.
The General Court of the European Union stated, back in March of this year, that Suzuki's GTi registration could not be confused with VW's "Golf GTI." Volkswagen had appealed that ruling, though has now reportedly called off the dogs. In fact, Germany's Die Welt reports that the appeal has been dead for several weeks now.
This news comes amongst continued arbitration acrimony between the two automakers, all revolving around VW's forced divestiture of nearly 20-percent stake it purchased in Suzuki some two years ago.
Brand new cars are being sold with defective Takata airbags
Wed, Jun 1 2016If you just bought a 2016 Audi TT, 2017 Audi R8, 2016–17 Mitsubishi i-MiEV, or 2016 Volkswagen CC, we have some unsettling news for you. A report provided to a US Senate committee that oversees the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and reported on by Automotive News claims these vehicles were sold with defective Takata airbags. And it gets worse. Toyota and FCA are called out in the report for continuing to build vehicles that will need to be recalled down the line for the same issue. That's not all. The report also states that of the airbags that have been replaced already in the Takata recall campaign, 2.1 million will need to eventually be replaced again. They don't have the drying agent that prevents the degradation of the ammonium nitrate, which can lead to explosions that can destroy the airbag housing and propel metal fragments at occupants. So these airbags are out there already. We're not done yet. There's also a stockpile of about 580,000 airbags waiting to be installed in cars coming in to have their defective airbags replaced. These 580k airbags also don't have the drying agent. They'll need to be replaced down the road, too. A new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time. If all this has you spinning around in a frustrated, agitated mess, there's a silver lining that is better than it sounds. So take a breath, run your fingers through your hair, and read on. Our best evidence right now demonstrates that defective Takata airbags – those without the drying agent that prevents humidity from degrading the ammonium nitrate propellant – aren't dangerous yet. It takes a long period of time combined with high humidity for them to reach the point where they can rupture their housing and cause serious injury. It's a matter of years, not days. So a new vehicle with a defective Takata airbag should be safe to drive, but that margin of safety decreases with time – and six years seems to be about as early as the degradation happens in the worst possible scenario. All this is small comfort for the millions of people who just realized their brand-new car has a time bomb installed in the wheel or dashboard, or the owners who waited patiently to have their airbags replaced only to discover that the new airbag is probably defective in the same way (although newer and safer!) as the old one.
