Hello and thank you for looking at my auction.

Up for auction today is a NICE 2003 Volkswagen Passat GLS Wagon.  This Passat is in great condition and has just PASSED MARYLAND INSPECTION.  As you can see, this is a beautiful vehicle.  It is finished in  a very dark green with dark tinted windows and the paint looks great.  It has a nice shine and looks good from any angle.  There are a few small imperfections in the finish as you would expect with any 10 year old vehicle, but it looks great overall.  All of the body lines are smooth and even.  All of the glass and lenses are intact (broken left brake light assembly will be replaced before buyer picks car up).  The alloy wheels show normal curb rash and are wrapped in a good set of tires with about 80% tread remaining.  Please take your time and review each of the photos carefully.

The interior of this Passat is in very good condition for its age and mileage.  The light gray interior compliments well with the Dark Green exterior and shows well.  The dash is clean and has no cracks, faded spots or excessive wear.  The carpets also show well throughout the interior.  The door panels are clean and intact.  The power windows, locks and mirrors and sunroof all work properly .  The air is cold and the radio and speakers work well and sound great. The leather seats are clean and comfortable and the aft cargo area is also clean and well kept.  This Passat comes with one key with built-in remote.  This Passat has been taken care of very well.

Mechanically, this Passat is in great running and driving condition.  The engine starts easily and runs smoothly.  The 1.8 liter turbocharged engine has lots of power.  There are no leaks and the engine does not smoke.  The 5-speed manual transmission shifts into all gears with ease and the clutch is strong.  The suspension is nice and tight as it should be.  The steering feels neutral and responsive.  The NEW BRAKES and ROTORS stop this Passat with no problems.  The engine keeps proper temperature and oil pressure at all times.  There have been no warning lights on.  It drives down the road confidently and feels solid.  This car gets EXCELLENT GAS MILEAGE.  Out on the highway, this Passat cruises effortlessly.  It goes straight down the road with no complaints and can be driven with ease.  Thanks for taking the time to thoroughly read this entire description.  This vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability.  Car can be viewed anytime, just send me a message to set up appointment.

This vehicle had new Brakes/Rotors/Axles installed, a new turn signal unit installed on the steering column, gasket replaced to fix oil leak, and a new left rear brake light assembly (ordered) to pass inspection.

Buying a vehicle over the internet can be scary so I take many actions to make you feel secure with your purchase:

1. I take the time/effort and spend the money to get my vehicles through Maryland safety inspection. Maryland has one of the toughest safety inspections in the country so if a vehicle passes Maryland safety inspection "I believe" it will pass any states safety inspection.

2. I give a very detailed report of the vehicle Interior / Exterior / Mechanical condition. I have a mechanical background, "but I am not a car mechanic". I have been buying and selling cars for over 25 years so I know a lot about cars. I am as honest and accurate as possible about vehicles that I sell. You can always ask me questions about vehicles that I am selling or arrange to come see the vehicle before bidding.

3. I upload over 20 pictures of every vehicle and will try my best to send you any specific pictures that you ask for.

4. My vehicles are usually priced around KBB.com privaty party values, which are much lower than the retail values that most dealers charge for vehicles on their car lot (but higher than the junk cars they sell on EBay that need a lot of work).   My profit margin is very low because of the time and money I put into reconditioning each vehicle and getting it through Maryland inspection. You always get a great deal and a car you can trust.

BEWARE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT INSPECTED!!! Many people think they are getting a great deal on vehicles they buy on EBay for inexpensive prices only to find out when they take it through inspection that it needs thousands of dollars worth of work. I usually spend over a thousand dollars and put in hours of work on each vehicle to get it ready to pass Maryland inspection.

My vehicles are also for sale locally and auction may be ended early in accordance with Ebay policies.

Cars are sold AS IS / WHERE IS.

A $149 DEALER DOCUMENT FEE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES AND INCLUDES A TEMPORARY TAG IF NEEDED (proof of insurance and all information for title/registration is needed 24 hours before temporary tag can be issued).

Thanks for looking and good luck biding.

VW updates Scirocco with revised styling, new engines

Sun, 16 Feb 2014

The Scirocco is undoubtedly one of the better-looking models in the Volkswagen lineup, but introduced back in 2008, it's now been on the market - some markets, anyway - for the better part of six years. VW is said to have an all-new replacement in the works, but before that arrives, the German automaker has announced a facelifted version with revised styling and a new engine lineup.
Set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show next month, the new Scirocco benefits from updated styling front and rear, high-tech exterior lighting, a revised cabin space with some throwback retro touches, some new technologies and, of course, an array of fresh wheel options ranging from 17 to 19 inches.
The updated Scirocco will be offered with a wide array of engines right from the get-go, including four gasoline options and two diesels, spanning from 125 horsepower all the way up to the 280-hp Scirocco R. The 2014 model hits European showrooms in August, but unfortunately isn't any more likely to make the transatlantic voyage Stateside than the version it replaces. Still interested? There's plenty to see in the high-res image gallery above and details in the press release below.

VW launches special edition Touareg X

Tue, 03 Dec 2013

Volkswagen is no stranger to special editions, but its Touareg SUV has remained largely unspecial in terms of exclusive trims or unique packages. That's changed with the announcement of the Touareg X, a 1,000-unit run based on the V6 TDI Lux trim - mid-range diesel model, between the navigation-equipped TDI Sport and the TDI R-Line.
The already special Touareg gets 19-inch "Moab" wheels, LED taillights (to go along with its LED DRLs) and "Touareg X" badging, while all 1,000 units will be painted Moonlight Blue Pearl. Tweaks in the cabin are equally light, with a black-on-black-on-black color scheme dominating - black Vienna leather, a black headliner and piano black trim. Aluminum bits make an appearance in the form of the door sills and pedals, although that's about it.
Other than those few aesthetic tweaks, the Touareg X is equipped largely like the Touareg Lux on which it's based. That means navigation, a panoramic sunroof, power seats, LED running lights, dual-zone air conditioning and heated power seats, among other tech pieces. Pricing starts at $56,170, making for a slight bump of $1,195 over the standard Touareg Lux.

VW makes $9.2B offer for rest of truckmaker Scania

Sun, 23 Feb 2014

Volkswagen owns or has controlling interests in three commercial truck operations: besides its own, VW began buying shares in Sweden's Scania in 2000 and now controls 89.2 percent of its shares and 62.6 percent of its capital, then bought into Germany's Man in 2006 - in order to prevent Man from trying to take over Scania - and now owns 75 percent of it. The car company has managed to work out 200 million euros in savings, but believes it can unlock a total of 650 million euros in savings if it takes outright control of Scania and can spread more common parts among the three divisions.
It has proposed a 6.7-billion-euro ($9.2 billion) buyout, but according to a Bloomberg report, Scania's minority investors don't appear inclined to the deal. Although effectively controlled by VW, Scania is an independently-listed Swedish company, and a profitable one at that: in the January-September 2013 period its operating profit was 9.4 percent compared to Man's 0.4 percent. Some of the other shareholders believe that Scania is better off on its own and will not approve the deal, some have asked an auditor to look into the potential conflict of interest between VW and Man, while some are willing to examine the deal and "make an evaluation based on what a long-term owner finds is good," which might not be just "the stock market price plus a few percent." The buyout will only be official assuming VW can reach the 90-percent share threshold that Swedish law mandates for a squeeze-out.
Many of the arguments against boil down to investors believing that Scania's Swedishness and unique offerings are what keep it profitable, and ownership by the German car company will kill that. (Have we heard that somewhere before?) If Volkswagen can buy that additional 0.8-percent share in Scania, perhaps its buyout wrangling with Man will give it an idea of what it's in for: "dozens" of minority investors in the German truckmaker have filed cases against VW, seeking higher prices for their shares. It is likely only to delay the inevitable, though. If VW is really going to compete with Daimler and Volvo in the truck market, it has to get the size, clout and savings to do so.
