The motor had less than 44,000 miles on it WHEN IT WAS INSTALLED 1O MONTHS AGO. The car has a total of 147,000 miles BUT THE ENGINE AROUND 50,000 . The the body of the car is in nice shape. Better than normal wear in all areas. The tires are good, brakes are good, drives and runs very good and good gas mileage. Everything works though the driver side window at times comes off the track e to pull it up by hand but i use the cold airconditioning all the time so i dont open it much as it will go down. It needs to be repaired as it just started last week when i got in the car the window didnt go up so i simply pulled it back on track. This is a good & dependable car. New Battery, New Radiator & coolant reservoir, Replaced Engine with turbo, automatic, sunroof, alloy wheels, Triptonic Turbo engine with great gas mileage. Black interior, good paint shiny, clean"

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND ITS BEEN VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF.

I REPLACED THE MOTOR IN THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR AS IT WAS KNOCKING SO MMY DAD PURCHASED A MOTOR WITH 44000 MILES ON IT WITH THE TURBO FOR $4000 INCLUDING THE INSTALLATION.

IT RUNS GOOD, ALWAYS STARTS UP AND WE PUT A NEW BATTERY AS WELL AS A NEW RADIATOR AND A NEW HOLDING RESERVOIR FOR THE COOLANT AND WATER.

THE BRAKES ARE FINE, TIRES ARE GOOD AND TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE EVERYTHING WORKS FINE. THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW AT TIMES COMES OFF THE TRACK SO I PULL IT UP BY HAND. THUIS RECENTLY STARTED AND WILL NEED ATTENTION. ASIDE FROM THAT EVERYTHING IS GOOD.

THE BODY IS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE AND BOTH INSIDE AND OUT ITS IN BETTER THAN NORMAL WEAR FOR ITS YEAR AND IS VERY DEPENDABLE.

I DECIDED TO PURCHASE A NEW CAR AND WANT TO SELL IT BEFORE I MOVE BACK TO NEW YORK.

THE PAINT COLOR IS LIGHT BLUE WITH SILVER APPOINTMENTS IN GREAT SHAPE, SHINY AND CLEAN AND THE INTERIOR IS A BLACKISH GREY CLOTH IN GOOD SHAPE.

THIS CAR IS GREAT ON GAS MILEAGE AND FUN TO DRIVE ON LONG DISTANCE TRIPS. I DROVE IT FROM NEW YORK AND BACK AND BACK TO FLORIDA AGAIN AND IT RUNS LIKE A DREAM.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISSAPOINTED. BUY IT NOW AT THIS VERY LOW PRICE AND DRIVE IT AWAY....

Foreign automakers pay from $38 to $65 per hour to non-union workers

Sun, Mar 29 2015

As leaders for the United Auto Workers gather in Detroit for their Special Convention on Collective Bargaining to work out the negotiating stance for this year's new labor agreements with the Detroit 3 automakers, what they most want to do is figure out how to eliminate the two-tier wage scale. However, the lower Tier 2 wage has allowed the domestic automakers to reduce their labor costs, hire more workers, and compete better with their import competition. As it stands, per-hour labor rates including benefits are $58 at General Motors, $57 at Ford, and $48 at Fiat-Chrysler – a reflection of FCA's much greater number of Tier 2 workers. The Center for Automotive Research released a study of labor rates (including benefits) that put numbers to what the imports pay: Mercedes-Benz pays the most, at an average of $65 per hour, Volkswagen pays the least, at $38 per hour, and BMW is just a hair above that at $39 per hour. Among the Detroit competitors, Honda workers earn an average of $49 per hour, at Toyota it's $48 per hour, Nissan is $42 per hour, and Hyundai-Kia pays $41 per hour. The lower import wages are aided by their greater use of temporary workers compared to the domestics. Automotive News says the ten-dollar gap between those foreign camakers and the domestics turns out to about an extra $250 per car in labor, which adds up quickly when you're pumping out many millions of cars. That $250-per-car number is one that, come negotiating time, the Detroit 3 will want to reduce, as the UAW is trying to raise both Tier 1 and Tier 2 wages. Another wrinkle is that the domestic carmakers are considering the wide adoption of a third wage level lower than Tier 2. Some workers who do minor tasks like assembling parts trays kits and battery packs already make less than Tier 2, but the UAW will be quite wary about cementing yet another wage scale at the bottom of the system while it's trying to fight a bigger battle at the top. Porsche 911 with VW turbodiesel prepares for LeMons assault

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

LeMons racing is a wonderful example that setting limits can actually breed creativity. The series mandates that all entries must cost $500, not counting safety equipment, and that cap forces teams to be ingenious in how they build a racecar. Take for example this diesel-powered Porsche 911, which its creators have dubbed Ferkel the Nein-11, that will be racing in the Sears Pointless race this weekend in Sonoma, California.
This Frankenstein combines a 911 chassis that was originally bought just for its European powertrain and a Volkswagen TDI diesel engine mounted in the rear. After deciding the shell could still be of some use, the team decided to go racing. "We began brainstorming what replacement drivetrain to use for maximum offense and there was really only one answer: a diesel," said Philipp von Weitershausen, one of the team captains, to Jalopnik. They bought a 1998 Jetta TDI on the cheap and started figuring out a way to hack the engine into the bay. To pay respect to the donor, the VW's trunk was highly modified (and drilled) and grafted onto the back of Ferkel.
This team isn't a newcomer to LeMons. Its last car was a classic VW Beetle with a Subaru engine and dual controls, named Ferdinand the Bug, which could be driven from the left or right side. It's quite a sight.

Volkswagen rolls out all-new Polo R WRC

Sat, Jan 17 2015

Volkswagen may have ruled out producing a road-going Polo more potent than the new GTI, but on the rally stage, the Polo R WRC has proven absolutely dominant. Introduced to the World Rally Championship in 2013, the Polo R won ten out of the baker's dozen rallies in its debut season, and all but one last year to win both titles two years running. That's quite an act to follow, and the task falls to the machine you see here. The new second-generation Polo R WRC was just revealed at Autostadt in Wolfsburg. The rally machine has been substantially reworked for 2015, with a new livery, new bodywork and new oily bits. In fact, Volkswagen says it has revised three quarters of the components, and while it has not yet detailed the "many new ideas [implemented] under the bonnet," it has identified the hydraulic gearbox as "the biggest innovation." Further details are still to come, but this is our first look at the new machine with which Sebastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen – who finished last year's championship in first, second and third, respectively – will tackle this year's championship, starting with the Rally Monte Carlo on January 22-25. FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) New technology, new design: presenting the second generation Polo R WRC - World premiere of the 318-hp Polo R WRC in Wolfsburg - Member of the Board, Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser, launches title defence - WRC kicks off with the iconic Rally Monte Carlo from 22–25 January Wolfsburg (15 January 2015). In top form, both technically and visually: Volkswagen presented the second generation of the Polo R WRC in Autostadt, Wolfsburg. The works team from Wolfsburg has its sights set firmly on another successful defence of its titles in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) with a new car and a new look. Volkswagen completed a clean sweep of all the World Championship titles when the Polo R WRC made its debut in 2013, before repeating this impressive feat last season. Continuity is the key to the driving line-up for 2015: double world champions Sebastien Ogier/Julien Ingrassia (F/F) and team-mates Jari-Matti Latvala/Miikka Anttila (FIN/FIN) and Andreas Mikkelsen/Ola Floene (N/N) will roll down the starting ramp and head onto the first special stage of the year for Volkswagen at the legendary Rally Monte Carlo on 22 January. "The new Polo R WRC has undergone intense further development, both on the inside and the outside," said Dr.
