2001 VW Passat ONE OWNER Just trade in this great Wagon, Ready for camping ONE OWNER car , the car had steering fluid leak, we install BRAND NEW rack and pinion and no more leak now, Yes it is little of high millage but you should drive it to appreciate the German engineering. The car still have the FIRST AID KIT and comes with 6 CD exchangers, Cold AC, you name it, every thing work perfect. There is no dash lights on, no leaks, no knocks ,no rust, Engine smooth as silk and the body is very clean no dents (except small dent on the back wheel well) please see the picture, , All the electric accessories are working as they should, very strong engine, ,Clutch is very strong and no issues of any kind. Anti-UAW VW workers move to form own union
Sat, 30 Aug 2014The struggle over unionization at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN, continues to get more complicated. There's now a second union fighting to organize at the plant; although this one is staunchly against the actions of the United Auto Workers. At the same time, the UAW is still signing up voluntary members to its recently created Local 42 at the facility and is reportedly near having a majority of the hourly employees on its side.
The new, anti-UAW union campaign is being spearheaded by employee Mike Burton, according to Reuters, and he calls his group the American Council of Employees. He claims to already have 108 signatures in support of his organization. Burton believes that the UAW is harmful to businesses, and his goal is to force another vote to determine a preferred union among workers.
The UAW was initially defeated (712 to 626) when it attempted a union vote at the Tennessee plant in February. However, UAW secretary-treasurer Gary Casteel told Reuters that Local 42 has already signed up over 700 members. If it can reach a majority of the roughly 1,500 employees, the group hopes VW might consider recognizing it as the factory's union.
VW, Suzuki mulling rekindling relationship in face of legal battle
Sat, 27 Jul 2013Volkswagen and Suzuki have been undergoing marriage counseling in a bid to avoid finalizing their nasty divorce. The blissful union has been troubled for some time, with Volkswagen claiming that it could affect operational decisions at Suzuki, and the Japanese brand's sniping and constant flirting with a certain Italian temptress causing rifts.
The matter first went to court in 2012, when Suzuki demanded VW get out, and leave its 19.9-percent stake in the Japanese brand in a box to the left. Now, Automotive News is reporting that the company will give the relationship one last shot, according to closed-door dealings between the two in London.
Still, it's understood that VW and Suzuki recognize the benefit of their alliance, and that it'd be in the best interests of the kids both parties to make things work. Spokespeople declined to comment to AN, but the newsmagazine spoke with Frank Biller, an analyst for LBBW in Stuttgart, who said, "Both companies stand to benefit if they can overcome the disagreements over leadership claims."
