So what we have here is a fine example of a 1970 convertible Karmann Ghia. This car has been lovingly restored about 4 years ago. It was a pan off stripped down bare metal very conscious resto. But don’t just take my word for it this vehicle comes with over a 100 photos that document the process. With its new top new seals, new interior its ready to go. The motor runs like a champ and it should as it has perfect all around compression (125 psi) on all cylinders due to a previous rebuild. New Weber carburetor, alternator, new starter, new coil, new clutch, new throw out bearing, and rear seal all keep it running amazing. Also new bearings, new brake system . Everything is new or been reconditioned from steering to tie rod ends to ball joints to torsion bar seals to needle bearings like I said lovingly restored. Nothing has been untouched. I’ve enjoyed the car for 3 years and feel its time for a new hobbie. As you know if your in the market, these are very unique cars and turn heads everywhere. VW may make Bentley a subsidiary of Audi
Sun, Oct 25 2020FRANKFURT — Volkswagen plans to make British luxury carmaker Bentley a subsidiary of its Audi division as it seeks economies of scale among its top-end brands, German trade publication Automobilwoche reported. Bentley, for now overseen by the head of VW's Porsche business, Oliver Blume, will from next year be part of Audi, where VW group Chief Executive Herbert Diess believes it has more potential, Automobilwoche cited company sources as saying. Synergies could include using Audi technology for a new Bentley SUV, it added. Volkswagen, which declined to comment on the report, is reviewing the future of its high-performance brands Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ducati motorcycles as part of broader quest for more economies of scale as it shifts to mass producing electric cars. VW recalls 1.1M Jetta, Beetle models in US, China over suspension fears
Fri, 17 Oct 2014Volkswagen is recalling about 1.1 million vehicles in China and North America in a newly announced campaign affecting the rear suspensions on some models. For the US, the action covers about 442,265 vehicles, including 400,602 examples of its 2011-2013 Jetta and 41,663 units of the 2012-2013 Beetle and Beetle Convertible. According to Reuters, the recall affects a further 126,000 vehicles in Canada and about 581,090 in China, including related market-specific models like the Sagitar.
The problem can occur if the affected models have a collision to the rear or the side-rear of the vehicle. It's then possible for the trailing arms on the torsion-beam rear suspension to be damaged. If the harm isn't noticed, then the part could fracture while driving. Obviously, a broken rear suspension is going to have an adverse effect on handling.
To fix things, VW dealers will inspect the trailing arms on the models, and they will all receive a sheetmetal part that will make a distinctive sound if broken in the future. If already damaged, the entire torsion beam will be replaced. Obviously, this work will be done at no charge to owners.
