Incredible 1967 volkswagon Karmann Ghia, Corvette
yellow (2 stage), 2-Door Coupe!

Clean title! The vehicle is almost complete with
restoration and just needs your personal touch to
finish it off!  Purchased over 10 years ago and
garage stored ever since!!   Car has never seen
snow.  Drive it away today and turn heads
everywhere you go as this is one incredible
looking vehicle that can be driven for personal
enjoyment or even completed to enter car shows.
Very rare and unique vehicle!  Drives and sounds
amazing (must see!).  Dash reads 38,013 but new
motor has less than 500 miles on it!

Recent work completed:

Exterior; Original Smoothie wheels in amazing
restored condition. Custom Porsche Head lights
Conversion make this vehicle really stand out. Car
was lowered about 1 1/2”. Bumper bar holes still
placed in front and rear.

Engine & Electrical; A very fast custom built
1985cc performance engine that sounds and runs
like a Porsche. Smooth 4 speed transmission.
Chrome Shrouds. Short shifter, (shifts like a
Porsche) EMPI exhaust. Complete tune up with
rebuilt carb. No leaks as everything was recently
checked. All lights work; brake light and signals.

Interior; 80% done. Brand new full car black
carpet kit and black door panels both from EMPI.
No locks. *Also have an extra fiberglass dashboard
that hasn't been cut yet!  Kill switch in place,
but not hooked up.

Minor Damage;

Unfortunately when we were working on vehicle,
front rolled into another car in neutral but only
paint damage and cracked headlights (noticeable
only when you are up close).  The body is straight
and no other damage from the unfortunate accident
while we were working on car. This was NOT a
moving accident on the road.  There is some minor
paint touch up needed above the front hood and
below from where it didn't open before.

Just a couple minor Knicks here and there, reason
being because car has no true panels but nothing
that cant be taken care of with a little TLC.  We
were waiting to finish off after all work was
completed.

Car was driven during repairs and runs excellent!
Even not being done all the way, it was hard to
drive one block without someone asking about the
car!

Translogic 168: CES 2015 Roundup

Wed, Jan 14 2015

Translogic and the yearly CES glorious gadget geekout go together like digital peanut butter and high-def jelly. At this year's show, surrounded by an egg-shaped Mercedes-Benz concept and the re-introduction of, of all things, the Sony Walkman, we had some fun. Between talking with Volkswagen about its new gesture-control tech and flying some video drones, we squeezed in some time to shred on ZBoard's new electric skateboard. The future is now. Which electric cars can charge at a Tesla Supercharger?

Sun, Jul 9 2023

The difference between Tesla charging and non-Tesla charging. Electrify America; Tesla Tesla's advantage has long been its charging technology and Supercharger network. Now, more and more automakers are switching to Tesla's charging tech. But there are a few things non-Tesla drivers need to know about charging at a Tesla station. A lot has hit the news cycle in recent months with regard to electric car drivers and where they can and can't plug in. The key factor in all of that? Whether automakers switched to Tesla's charging standard. More car companies are shifting to Tesla's charging tech in the hopes of boosting their customers' confidence in going electric.  Here's what it boils down to: If you currently drive a Tesla, you can keep charging at Tesla charging locations, which use the company's North American Charging Standard (NACS), which has long served it well. The chargers are thinner, more lightweight and easier to wrangle than other brands.  If you currently drive a non-Tesla EV, you have to charge at a non-Tesla charging station like that of Electrify America or EVgo — which use the Combined Charging System (CCS) — unless you stumble upon a Tesla charger already equipped with the Magic Dock adapter. For years, CCS tech dominated EVs from everyone but Tesla.  Starting next year, if you drive a non-Tesla EV (from the automakers that have announced they'll make the switch), you'll be able to charge at all Supercharger locations with an adapter. And by 2025, EVs from some automakers won't even need an adaptor.  Here's how to charge up, depending on which EV you have:  Ford 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. Tim Levin/Insider Ford was the earliest traditional automaker to team up with Tesla for its charging tech. Current Ford EV owners — those driving a Ford electric vehicle already fitted with a CCS port — will be able to use a Tesla-developed adapter to access Tesla Superchargers starting in the spring. That means that, if you own a Mustang Mach-E or Ford F-150 Lightning, you will need the adapter in order to use a Tesla station come 2024. But Ford will equip its future EVs with the NACS port starting in 2025 — eliminating the need for any adapter. Owners of new Ford EVs will be able to pull into a Supercharger station and juice up, no problem. General Motors Cadillac Lyriq. Cadillac GM will also allow its EV drivers to plug into Tesla stations.

Volkswagen Golf R Evo may debut at Beijing Motor Show

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

If a report in Auto Express is correct, a lighter, faster brother to the Volkswagen Golf R will be shown to the world at the Beijing Motor Show in April. Said to be called the Golf R Evo, the even harder hot hatch would be unveiled as one of those concepts that's practically a de facto presentation of the genuine thing. The Evo in its name will come from having a carbon fiber roof and CF in the bodywork, lighter wheels, thinner bucket seats up front and a roll cage instead of rear seats.
If there's a power increase, it's been described as "a small bump." However, as the report mentions, if the Jenny Craig regimen can drop 100 kilograms (220 pounds) from the the 3,247-pound weight of the European Golf R, then the Golf R Evo will do about the same damage on the scales as the Golf but have at least 50 more horsepower and 44 more pound-feet of torque.
Since we still don't have the current Golf, this isn't something that should keep you awake even if the 'concept' does become a production model. But it is good to know that the Golf R is really going to start pushing its boundaries.
