1963 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Restored! on 2040-cars

This auction is for a fully restored 1963 Karmann Ghia coupe. The car has been gone over from top to bottom starting with the exterior work on the vehicle. All body work was repaired, and the vehicle was painted Corvette Torch Red. The bumpers are brand new, all exterior emblems are new. All gaskets have been replaced including engine and trunk gaskets, window gaskets, windshield molding, rear window molding. The floor boards are in excellent shape and are not rotted. The chassis has new drum brakes all around, new shocks. There is some slight play in steering box. The interior was completely upholstered. Only flaw is mark on rear seat cushion. The engine has been completely rebuilt with new crank, pistons, rods, heads were redone, new gaskets, upgraded to 12v ignition system, upgraded dual carburetors. The transmission has a short throw shifter. The car is in excellent shape. You really have to see it to appreciate the work that was done. The body work and paint work is excellent. I have receipts for all engine work done as well as receipts for most of the exterior trim, bumpers, etc. Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have. |

2023 Chicago Auto Show Mega Photo Gallery: See all the new cars from the show

In traditional auto show fashion, that means you’re getting a mega gallery of galleries to flip through and see all the vehicles on the show floor. Our EditorsÂ’ Picks from the show are already out — spoiler alert, the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander took home the prize. That said, there were other important reveals like the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport and the 2024 Subaru Crosstrek. VW midsize crossover production headed for Chattanooga
Fri, 10 Jan 2014Potential labor woes aside, it looks like Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN factory must have done something that impressed the bosses in Germany, because it sounds like the three-year-old factory is set to score a second model.
The factory currently builds the Passat, and has been in the running alongside VW's Puebla, Mexico factory to build a new crossover vehicle, likely based on the CrossBlue Concept. According to Bloomberg, a pair of unnamed sources have confirmed that Chattanooga is the favorite ahead of an official announcement.
When last we heard about the CrossBlue Concept, word was that a production decision had been delayed over concerns about the three-row CUV's business case. That August 2013 story claimed that a decision regarding the CrossBlue would be pushed back until early in 2014, which means we're ripe for some sort of news, whether good or bad.
Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee teases return with a Countach
Fri, May 29 2015Unless you have an intense aversion to Jerry Seinfeld, it's hard not to find something to like about his show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. After all, the series combines funny people telling often hilarious stories while riding in ridiculously cool vehicles. The trailer for the sixth season is now online, and based on this tease, this definitely looks worth watching no matter what part of the videos interest you. Of course, it's the automotive portion that really grabs us, and Seinfeld has quite a fleet to showcase for season six. The trailer shows off a Lamborghini Countach, a '57 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible, a classic Volkswagen Beetle in the green and white German Polizei livery, a Morgan, an Aston Martin DB5, and a Ferrari 308. On the more humorous side of things, the guest list at least includes Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jim Carrey, Steve Harvey, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and upcoming host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah. Season six of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee premieres on Crackle on Wednesday, June 3, at 11:30 PM ET.
