Hello Friends,

I am selling this jetta tdi 2003 for repairs or parts. If you need a part from it let me know in case I decide to sell it in parts.
I bought it in 2009 with 155.000 miles and drove it till today and has around 223.800 miles on it.
Transmission was rebuilt in January 2010 (172.000 miles) and it is giving up again.
I am not planing to spend $2400 again so I want to sell it to somebody who can fix it.
Still drives but has hard time climbing steep hills.
If you like to get it and fix the transmission this is a good deal for a good price.
I hate to let it go; I just installed new struts and coils on the front. Spend $200 for it.
Rear shocks replaced also few months ago. If you have driven VW you know that these vehicles dont have soft ride.
Has scratches and dents. IT has been my construction work related vehicle.
Front right damaged as you can see. Left rear has minor damage as well.
Front windshield cracked. Engine runs well. Last time I tested it did 39 miles per gallon.
Four new tires bought last year. Will need alignment.
Son roof, alarm, power locks, heated mirrors, radio, cd, tape works fine.
Cosmetically this vehicle is not in the best shape. But for the price I would buy it too if I can fix it.
If you plan yo fix it and try to sell it for $5000 you probably wont be able to do that with this one.
I have taken all the seats off (except driver's) and have been carrying lumber and other supplies. (I will install them back upon selling it)
This is reliable car, I have taken it several times on a trip to Kansas and back.
Sorry for only one photo; it was dark and I wanted to get it started on ebay right away.

NOTE: I have only one key and there is no remote, the car I have does not open trunk.
ABS light comes off and on. Open light comes on and off since yesterday

Please ask question if interested. I respond quickly.
If you would need some parts from it only, let me know. I can part it too.
Roof racks not included in the sale. Will sell them for $100 if interested.

Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits

Wed, 15 May 2013

The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.

VW confirms Golf GTD diesel coming to US for 2016

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

Part of the Volkswagen Golf recipe that has helped the car sell more than 30 million units in just under 40 years is the number of variants in which the hatchback is offered. Building on that range here in the US, Automotive News is reporting that we will finally be getting the sporty Golf GTD, likely as a 2016 model. It's the GTD, you'll recall, that crosses the performance abilities of the venerable GTI with a powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engine.
After speaking with Andreas Valbuena, Volkswagen product manager for the Golf, AN not only says that the GTD will for sale in the US in a couple years, it also estimates a baseline price of around $27,000, which would place it between the current pricing for the GTI and the Golf R. The GTD is launching in Europe this summer, but we won't be getting the seventh-generation Golf in the US for another year. The news about the performance diesel model isn't entirely unexpected - VW officials have been hinting at it for at least a year now, going so far as to import a sixth-generation model for media test drives on US soil, a task we happily took them up on last year.
The Mk VII GTD uses VW's 2.0-liter TDI engine with output increased to 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, allowing the car to sprint to 60 miles per hour in about seven seconds while returning more than 40 mpg in highway driving. We can't wait.

Europeans get first crack at new Golf Variant wagon

Mon, 04 Mar 2013

Just last week, when we brought you news of a new Volkswagen Golf variant out and testing in Europe, we had no idea we were being so literal with out description. For it seems that VW has every intention of calling its new Golf wagon, making its Geneva debut, the "Golf Variant."
Odd/interesting sobriquets taken as read then, there's a lot to like about this new small wagon from VW. The Variant will shed some 232 pounds in this generation, and will come to market with two efficient TDI engines. Volkswagen isn't giving us displacement figures for either yet, but we're told the diesels will come with outputs of 110 and 150 horsepower. The 110-hp TDI BlueMotion Varient will be good for a whopping 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle, when mated to the six-speed manual transmission.
The German automaker has brought along an all-wheel-drive 4Motion version of the Gold Variant to bow in Geneva, as well, and a natural gas-burning TGI BlueMotion is said to be "in the pipeline."
