Vw Jetta Gli on 2040-cars
Ellicott City, Maryland, United States
Please contact me before bidding if you have 0 feedback. I will cancel your BID, SORRY! The car is listed locally and I have every right to end the auction if car is sold before hand. Throw me some offers! I am willing to negotiate a tad bit for a fast sale as I have a few things that must be taken care of. This car has been my pride and joy forever! I have babied it and spent tons and tons of money on it. Up for sale is this beautiful lagoon blue, 2004.5 VW GLI that has been fully built top and bottom! This is one of the most dependable VW'S that I have driven and everything was done right the first time. The time, money, and effort that was put into building this car has made it a 441WHP monstor and I have dyno sheets to prove it. I personally have not seen another VW that have been faster than this. I did not drive this car as a daily, it was more of a weekend warrior. I recently drove it all the way from Georgia and back to Maryland. However, this car would be a great Daily Driver as long as you keep your foot off the gas. It gets 350 miles to the TANK as long as you stay out of boost or else it is a gas guzzler! If you want a car thats been done right, and has tons of money invested with some of the best parts out in the industry, then this would be for you. She is a beast and thats a promise. This is not a car that you can throw in the hands of any person. It is extremely fast and can seriously hurt somebody. That should be able to tell you this is not a toy that can be played around with. However, whoever is the first person to bring me the money can have it! I wont discriminate :) The car is VERY dependable. It is known IN MD as nearly one of the fastest VW's around! ALSO I CAN END THE AUCTION EARLY IF SOMEBODY IS VERY SERIOUS AND HAS CASH IN HAND. LOOKING TO SELL THIS WEEK.
91XXX miles on chassis 6700 on engine build. Interior is almost Perfect. Carpet and dash is Great. Seats are in Good condition. NO RIPS. Engine MODS: AEM WIDEBAND BOOST GAUGE ALL STAINLESS STEEL WASTE GATE LINES Tuned by an individual named Kevin Black. It has a lugtronic tune making 441whp on 24 lbs of boost! Have Dyno Sheets to prove it. PLEASE NOTE: I am willing to let somebody drive the car home on my TAGS and INSURANCE as long as you leave a refundable deposit so that I can get my TAGS back. This can be discussed in further detail for a serious buyer. I need a FAST SALE! ***NOTE TO BUYER. The car itself is a VW GLI however, when the car was built and assembled, somewhere along the way it came in as a registered GLS. The car has everything that a GLI has and it HAS all of the GLI parts. It has the wheels, to the seats, to the aluminum trim, 6 speed transmission ETC. You can even call and verify with the dealer that this is an ACTUAL GLI. Also, they were a couple hundred of them that are out there with it showing as a GLS instead of a GLI. One the other hand, the good part about it is, you save on insurance! The premium is much cheaper. Just wanted to give a heads up! PAYMENT- I WILL NOT RELEASE THE CAR UNTIL THE FUNDS HAVE CLEARED ONE HUNDRED PERCENT. |

Workers at Mississippi auto supplier protesting low wages
Tue, Feb 24 2015Workers at an automotive seat factory in Mississippi are protesting what they say are low wages and poor working conditions as they attempt to unionize in what could become a new front for the United Auto Workers in the state. A group of workers and supporters at the Faurecia SA seating plant in Cleveland plans a Tuesday march. "We work an auto job and we're getting paid like Wal-Mart wages," said Jamarqus Reed, a 32-year-old Pace resident who has worked at the plant for almost 10 years. "We're trying to better ourselves." Nationally, the UAW has staked its future on unionizing Southern auto factories, with limited success so far. The union has been trying to organize Nissan Motor Co.'s Canton, MS, plant for years, and lost a 2008 worker vote at a Johnson Controls plant in nearby Madison that French-based Faurecia bought in 2011. The UAW narrowly lost a unionization vote at the Volkswagen AG plant in Chattanooga, TN, last year, but the union has since qualified for a new labor policy at the plant that grants access to meeting space and to regular discussions with management. The policy stops short of collective bargaining rights. The union is also trying to organize Nissan's assembly plant in Smyrna, TN, and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz plant in Tuscaloosa, AL. Protesters say Faurecia employees make a top wage of $11.64 per hour, while contract workers make $7.73 an hour. Company spokesman Tony Sapienza said that with overtime, the typical Faurecia employee makes more than the $27,000 a year that is the median wage around Cleveland. Wages are often low in the heavily impoverished Delta. "We are very confident that we are offering a very competitive wage," Sapienza said. Organizers criticize use of lower-paid contract workers Shannon Greenidge, a 44-year-old Cleveland resident, said she worked for a labor agency for more than two years before being hired directly by Faurecia. Greenidge said she makes $9.29 an hour, and can't save for retirement or to send her 11-year-old daughter to college. "That's not going to help me down the line in life," she said. Union supporters say as many as half the workers at the plant work for a contract-labor agency. Sapienza said that while the number varies, the company expects 15 percent of its workforce will be temporary employees this year. The UAW has organized some Southern auto parts plants in recent years, including Faurecia plants in Cottondale, Alabama, in 2012 and Louisville, Kentucky in 2013.
Peugeot will prove it doesn't offer cheater diesels
Thu, Oct 29 2015Our diesels are clean, really. That's the message from French automaker PSA/Peugeot-Citroen as it plans to go on the offensive in response to Volkswagen's diesel-emissions scandal. PSA will go out of its way to prove its diesels are as clean as advertised. The company is looking at disclosing "real-world" fuel-economy statistics as soon as next spring and will use an independent entity to vet the numbers, Automotive News Europe says, citing comments that PSA/Peugeot-Citroen financial chief Jean-Baptiste de Chatillon made to reporters this week. Such efforts may be vital, since roughly two-thirds of the vehicles Peugeot-Citroen sells in Europe are powered by a diesel engine. Last month, VW admitted that as many as 11 million of its diesel-powered vehicles were programmed with software designed to cheat emissions-testing systems. The news shook up the industry, especially companies that sell a good chunk of diesels. The EU itself may start instituting "real world" fuel-economy and emissions testing as soon as 2017. French regulators have said they may eliminate diesel-fuel subsidies that currently make diesel fuel cheaper to customers than gas. That adjustment may occur as soon as next year, since it's been pushed up in response to the VW scandal. Peugeot-Citron continues to reiterate that it has never installed software that was designed to cheat emissions-testing systems. Additionally, the automaker was more than a decade ahead of European Union mandates for engine components designed to cut soot emissions, so the company is hoping its track record makes a difference. It wants to be perfectly clear about that.
