Tdi Diesel 5 Speed Manual Wagon Sunroof Heated Seats Recently Serviced on 2040-cars
Marion, Montana, United States
This is a very solid vehicle for one with over 300,000 miles on it. It does have some scratches, small rust spots, and other imperfections, inside and out. If you're looking for a vehicle in perfect cosmetic condition, this is not the car for you. That said, this car is in nice shape overall, and is functioning very well mechanically. I have kept track of the mileage for the entire time I've owned the car - almost 50,000 miles, and it's consistently gotten about 36 miles per gallon. That's with a rooftop box that I've had on it the entire time. Without the rooftop box, it should get from 2-5 mpg more. I live in a wintry place, and the car starts right up without a problem. I added a block heater which I use all winter long. The car drives great, has plenty of zip, and is fun to drive. All service has been performed by a local dealer that specializes in European cars. I have all the records from the time that I've owned the car. I'm selling it because I live 5 miles down a dirt road and it's just not designed for driving on that kind of surface. I've had to put too much money into repairing things like axles, control arms, wheel bearings, and the engine mount. Actually all these things were replaced about 500 miles ago, so she's in about tip-top shape and ready to find a more suitable home and driver. If you have other questions, please ask. Thanks for looking! |

VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt
Sun, 08 Sep 2013
Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
Volkswagen Golf Variant will make a lovely Jetta SportWagen
Tue, 05 Mar 2013In addition to several other versions of the Golf, Volkswagen is debuting the new Golf Variant (read: wagon) here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. And if this bigger version of the Golf looks like it might fit right at home in the States, it's because we could possibly see some version of this car as the next-generation Jetta SportWagen here on our shores.
Volkswagen is debuting the Golf Variant with two efficient diesel engines, rated at 110 and 150 horsepower, the smaller of which is good for an impressive 71.3 miles per gallon on the European cycle (when mated to a six-speed manual transmission). The Golf Variant also gets a version of Volkswagen's 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, making it incredibly all-weather capable.
It's a handsome estate, and it wears the new Golf's design language well. We can't say for sure if this car will actually make its way Stateside, but given the fact that the current Jetta SportWagen still rides on the old Golf platform, the odds look to be in our favor.
Volkswagen Multivan Alltrack Concept takes the luxury van life off road
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Volkswagen dug into its commercial vehicle fleet for its latest Geneva Motor Show concept, blending the versatile body of the T5 MultiVan with a luxuriously appointed interior, 4Motion all-wheel drive and a thrifty diesel powertrain.
That 177-horsepower diesel engine routes its power to the AWD system through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Based on that alone, we'd expect the Multivan Alltrack's behind-the-wheel experience to be somewhat familiar. That all-wheel-drive system and van body contribute to the 21-degree approach and 15-degree departure angles of this soft-roading MultiVan.
What wouldn't be familiar is its exquisite cabin. Volkswagen opted for a nautical theme for the concept's interior, featuring grey-blue leather seats from Poltrona Frau and a floor finished in real wood. The dark wood trim can also be found throughout the interior, running below the windows and on the dash.
