For sale is a loaded, one owner, 2006 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Turbo Diesel. It runs and drives 100%, has a clean Autocheck and is being sold with no reserve.

The 1.9L four cylinder turbo charged diesel engine purrs along without a miss or fluid loss. The fuel efficient 5 speed manual transmission shifts perfectly with plenty of clutch. The brakes, steering and suspension have no issues. No exhaust leaks. There is a sticker on the engine indicating that the timing belt has been changed however the mileage is smeared.

The exterior is a glossy silver. There are no major dents or dings. The most noticable is the right side rocker panel. No windshield chips or cracks. The lights and lenses are clear and bright. The tires, on factory alloy wheels, have about 25% tread (see pic).

The interior is black carpet and leather seats. The carpet is clean with no wear spots. The front leather seats are heated. The driver seat has three memory positions. There is a typical slight wear spot on the side of the driver seat. All the power options such as sunroof, cruise control, windows, side mirrors, seats, etc. work as designed. The heat is hot and the AC is cold. There is a factory sound system with CD. No dash cracks or sagging headliner.

This is a very nice Jetta Turbo Diesel and is especially fuel efficient with the 5 speed manual transmission. These vehicles seem to run forever and this one seems to be no exception. There are no current mechanical issues and no indication of any impending problems. The new owner will be able to drive it home, with confidence, no matter where they live. VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel

Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. VW recognizes second union at Chattanooga plant

The ongoing story of organizing workers at Volkswagen's factory in Chattanooga, TN, continues to get more complicated. Following an independent audit, the automaker has now recognized a second union at the plant called the American Council of Employees. The group was founded there last year to offer an alternative to the United Auto Workers. "I'm not anti-union. I understand that a properly run union can benefit people. We will be that union," Sean Moss, president of the ACE, said to Reuters, according to Automotive News. The group claims to represent at least 15 percent of the workers at the plant. Acceptance of the ACE has led to an interesting situation in Chattanooga because VW also recognized the UAW at the factory in December 2014, and the group has claimed to represent at least 45 percent of workers there. According to Automotive News, each union has access to management, but the UAW has more because of its larger contingent of supporters. However, neither organization has a collective bargaining agreement with the automaker. Moss may have a rough time increasing support among employees at the factory. According to Automotive News, many anti-UAW workers there are completely against unions in general. Getting these folks to join his group isn't an easy task. The UAW has been working to fully represent the VW factory for years. However, the group lost a vote to do so in 2014. It eventually created a union local there to try to build support. All of the effort comes ahead of a $900 million plant expansion to add about 2,000 jobs and build a new crossover in Tennessee.
