WELCOME!!! What you see is what you get. I know its hard to believe. Its a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Turbo Diesel, with an Automatic Transmission. The car looks just like the pictures, in person as well. The paint/body very clean, and never in ANY accidents or had any kind of paintwork on the car. The mileage is 79,072 MILES!!!! These are super hard to find because not only is a low mileage TDI very hard to find, but also the fact that its a GLS TDI. Which comes with the AUTOMATIC transmission as well as power windows. As oppose to the manual transmission most commonly and manual windows. These MKIV body style TDIs with this kind of mileage is unheard of. You will not see another one so clean and online probably for years to come. The body/paint are very clean as stated with NO RUST or rot as seen in the pictures. The interior is in very nice shape and never ever smoked in. The engine runs very nicely and feels very strong. The transmission shifts very nicely as it should. AC BLOWS COLD, Heat blows HOT, all windows/electronics, remote keyless entry, sunroof, ALL WORK GREAT!!The car has had regular oil changes, and new tires and new brakes the past year or so installed. As you can see the Carfax is crystal clear and the ORIIGINAL WINDOW INVOICE WHEN PURCHASED NEW IS INCLUDED! This was really a BARN find, I found in Connecticut earlier this year. It was locked away in a garage for years. An elderly gentleman passed away and left it to his wife. The widowed wife, refused to sell for years, for sentimental value ofcourse. Then she was forced to move and sell. So I purchased it earlier this year, since Ive owned plenty of TDIs/Golfs/Jettas. So I know the value of one so clean with such low mileage. The price is $8995.00 which is FIRM. IF you look online you will see these with over 200k miles still selling for $6000 to $7000. THESE WILL OUTLAST THE NEWER STYLE JETTAS. These are much easier and cheaper to maintain. So my price is very fair, and blue book cant value a MKIV TDI with such low mileage and no accident history. CALL 516-996-5252, 7 days a week, 7 AM to 1130 EASTERN TIME only please. Its my direct number. This is a PRIVATE sale and no Im not a car dealer. I have the Title ready to go, under my name. I can assist with Shipping to anywhere in the country also, if you decide to ship it. Otherwise, the 2 airports near me are LGA and JFK. You can fly in, bring the money and done deal. I will not accept p a ypal, bank checks, etc. Either bank wire or C ash or Postal Money Orders. Your baby is waiting!!! ONCE AGAIN EMAILS WILL MOST LIKELY GO UNANSWERED AND PLEASE ONLY CALL IF YOUR SERIOUSLY READY TO PURCHASE WITH THE FUNDS. NO I DO NOT FINANCE, BECAUSE IM A PRIVATE SELLER. CALL 516-996-5252. PLEASE READ AD ENTIRELY BEFORE YOU CALL.JUST THINK ABOUT THE 50MPG THIS CAR GETS AND HOW YOU WILL SAVE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS IN FUEL COSTS NEXT FEW YEARS. YOU WILL MAKE UP YOUR MONEY RIGHT BACK!! PRICE IS FIRM!!!! PLEASE RESPECT. THIS WILL GO TO SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THIS CAR AND THE VALUE OF SUCH A NICE ONE!! AGAIN, I CAN ASSIST WITH SHIPPING. DON'T LOSE THE CAR TO SOMEONE ELSE. 2nd annual Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards revealed

Tue, Jan 13 2015

There was some absolutely fantastic auto advertising in 2014, ranging from funny to inspiring. Marking the best of it from the past year, the Second Annual One Show Automobile Advertising of the Year Awards were announced during the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (full disclosure: Autoblog was among the award's sponsors, and Editor-in-Chief Sharon Carty was a voter). Unlike previously, there were no brands with dominance over the list this time. Presented by The One Club, the awards have an international scope and hand out honors in a variety of categories. In the Broadcast TV group, there were three winners this year. First, there was The Scripted Life from Audi for the Q3 about breaking out of life's monotony. Also, Dad's Sixth Sense from Hyundai marketed the safety features in the Genesis. Finally, Unbreakable Drivers showed manly men being tested for the Toyota Hilux in Australia. The Online Video prize went to the fantastic The Epic Split spot from Volvo Trucks starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. The best Interactive ad was the Honda video titled The Other Side for the Civic Type R, and the Experiential Advertising nod was for the Volkswagen Eyes on the Road clip that showed the dangers of texting and driving to a theater full of moviegoers in Hong Kong. Finally, the Public Choice Award went to the BMW commercial called Hello Future using the words of sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke for the i8. In the award not for videos, Jeep won the Print/Outdoor category for its Upside Down campaign. Check the ads out below, which show different animals when upside down. Also, look farther down for all of the winning videos and read their full announcements. VW CEO talks up 20 new plug-in models in Frankfurt

Mon, Sep 14 2015

For years now, Volkswagen has dreamed big, forming plans to become the world's largest automaker. That trajectory includes a big plug-in vehicle push, and the CEO of Volkswagen, Martin Winterkorn, said that his group of companies will bring out 20 more EVs and plug-in hybrids by 2020. The list includes the next Phaeton and the Audi A8. "No commitment to electro-mobility can be any clearer than that," Winterkorn said, according to a VW press release. "Our Group already has the largest connected vehicle fleet on the road. By 2020 we will have transformed all of our new cars into smartphones on wheels." Perhaps most illustrative, Winterkorn admitted that the auto industry has turned a corner. "Technological leadership is no longer solely defined in terms of horsepower and torque," he said. "We are taking the precision, enduring value and quality of our cars into the new, digital world." The VW group is also showing off new plug-in concepts in Frankfurt this week, like the Tiguan GTE and the Porsche Mission E. Winterkorn's prepared remarks do not give out the details of these vehicles, but we'll have all the info from the show floor in short order. Stay tuned. PROF. DR. MARTIN WINTERKORN: "THE REINVENTION OF VOLKSWAGEN" 14/09/15 from Volkswagen Group 20 more electric cars and plug-in hybrids by 2020 announced Group not only has broadest electric fleet, but also largest connected vehicle fleet on the road Customers should benefit from automated driving technologies as quickly as possible Volkswagen taking precision, enduring value and quality of its cars into the digital world Wolfsburg/Frankfurt am Main, September 14, 2015 – In the Volkswagen Group, there is a sense that a new era is dawning. On the eve of the 66th International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt am Main the CEO of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, said on Monday evening: "We are in the process of reinventing Europe's largest automaker, laying the technological, economic and structural foundations." The Group Chairman announced there would be 20 more electric cars and plug-in hybrids by 2020 – from compact cars to the next Phaeton and Audi A8: "No commitment to electro-mobility can be any clearer than that." He said the Group already had the broadest electric fleet in the automobile world, and added that Volkswagen was also at the forefront when it came to the future-oriented field of digitisation: "Our Group already has the largest connected vehicle fleet on the road.

VW may move production because of Russia's cutoff of natural gas

Sun, Sep 25 2022

Volkswagen AG is exploring ways to counter a shortage in natural gas, including shifting production around its network of global facilities, signaling how the energy crisis unleashed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens to upend EuropeÂ’s industrial landscape. Volkswagen, EuropeÂ’s biggest carmaker, said Thursday that reallocating some of its production was one of the options available in the medium term if gas shortages last much beyond this winter. The company has major factories in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which are among European countries most reliant on Russian gas, as well as facilities in southern Europe that source energy from elsewhere. “As mid-term alternatives, we are focusing on greater localization, relocation of manufacturing capacity, or technical alternatives, similar to what is already common practice in the context of challenges related to semiconductor shortages and other recent supply chain disruptions,” Geng Wu, VolkswagenÂ’s head of purchasing, said in a statement.  RussiaÂ’s decision to throttle gas supplies to Europe has raised concerns that Germany might be forced to ration its fuel. Recent news that gas storage levels hit 90% ahead of schedule has soothed fears of acute shortages this winter, but Germany faces a challenge in replenishing depleted reserves next summer without contributions from Russia. Southwestern Europe or coastal zones of northern Europe, both of which have better access to seaborne liquefied natural gas cargoes, could be the beneficiaries of any production shift, a Volkswagen spokesman said by phone. The Volkswagen group already operates car factories in Portugal, Spain and Belgium, countries that host LNG terminals. Labor hurdles To be sure, any major production shift away from EuropeÂ’s biggest economy would face significant hurdles. VW has some 295,000 employees in Germany and worker representatives account for around half the companyÂ’s 20-member supervisory board. Any shift in production would likely involve a limited number of vehicles rather than wholesale factory shutdowns. While gas supplies for VWÂ’s plants are currently secured, the company has identified potential savings at its European sites to cut gas consumption by a “mid-double-digit percentage,” said Michael Heinemann, managing director of VWÂ’s power-plant unit. Still, the carmaker said it was concerned about the effect high gas prices could have on its suppliers.
