I HAVE UP FOR AUCTION A 2011 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA SE SEDAN WITH THE INLINE 5 CYLINDER ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT COMES WITH 1 KEY AND NO OWNERS MANUAL. IT HAS APPROXIMATELY 35,861 MILES ON IT AS OF 5/12/13, BUT THE MILEAGE WILL GO UP AS I DO DRIVE THIS REGULARLY, EXPECT TO SEE OVER 36K BEFORE AUCTIONS END. THAT BEING SAID, IT IS A WRECKED VEHICLE WITH A SALVAGE TITLE, BUT IT RUNS AND DRIVES FINE FOR ME AS IS, I HAVE PERSONALLY PUT 1,000 MILES ON IT. THERE IS NO SUSPENSION DAMAGE THAT I CAN TELL - IT DRIVES STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD, NO DAMAGE TO ANYTHING IN THE INTERIOR, AND NO AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED IN THE WRECK. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WRECKED, AND SINCE HAVE REPLACED THE PASSENGERS FENDER, AND BOTH PASSENGERS DOORS (I ALSO PURCHASED THE REAR TAILLIGHT AND IT DOES GO WITH THE CAR BUT IS NOT INSTALLED FOR OBVIOUS REASONS). THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE QUARTER PANEL THAT IS PREVENTING THE NEW DOOR FROM CLOSING COMPLETELY AND THE FRONT DOOR DOES NEED ADJUSTED SLIGHTLY, BUT ALIGNMENT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE PERFECT ON THE FRONT WITH SOME TWEAKING. THAT BEING SAID, THE ONLY LIGHTS ON THE DASH ARE THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT AND AN AIRBAG LIGHT I BELIEVE FROM WHERE I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE SEATBELT TO GET TO A DOOR BOLT, THAT LIGHT WAS NOT ON WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THATS THE ONLY THING I HAVE DONE THAT COULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE LIGHT! BUT BACK TO THE COSMETIC DAMAGE - ASIDE FROM THE QUARTER PANEL, THE DECKLID IS DENTED AND IN MY OPINION SHOULD BE REPLACED, THERE ARE A COUPLE DENTS ON THE ROOF AND SAIL PANEL THAT SHOULD POP AND BONDO NICELY, AND THE HOOD IS ALSO SAVEABLE IN MY OPINION WITH A LITTLE BONDO. AND ALSO, THE CAR NEEDS A BUMPER. THE ONLY OTHER THING I HAVE NOTICED IS THAT THE LOWER RADIATOR SUPPORT IS MISSING AND NEEDS REPLACED AND THE AIR CONDITIONING NEEDS CHARGED, PROBABLY DUE TO A LINE BEING CRACKED IN THE ACCIDENT, BUT I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING AS FAR AS THAT GOES. ITS A VERY NICE RUNNING FUEL EFFICIENT VEHICLE WITH A KBB VALUE OVER 13K IN GOOD CONDITION AND I ENCOURAGE ANY POTENTIAL BUYERS TO COME TAKE A LOOK AND TEST DRIVE THE CAR IN PERSON! IT DOES SELL AS IS HOWEVER SO BID ACCORDINGLY!!! EASY FIX AND GREAT POTENTIAL HERE FOR A BODYMAN TO ACQUIRE A NICE CAR CHEAP OR TURN A PROFIT! I HAD EVERY INTENTION TO FIX THIS COMPLETELY BUT HAVE TOO MANY OTHER PROJECTS AT THE MOMENT.

***I WILL ALSO ENTERTAIN REASONABLE OFFERS, BUT CANNOT PUT A BEST OFFER SELECTION ON AN AUCTION SO IF YOU HAVE AN OFFER FOR ME I CAN ADJUST THE BUY IT NOW!***

Volkswagen feuds with thriving stablemate Skoda

Wed, Oct 4 2017

BERLIN, Oct 4 (Reuters) - Volkswagen managers and unions are seeking to curb competition from lower-cost stablemate Skoda, move some of its production to Germany and make the Czech brand pay more for shared technology, company sources told Reuters. As VW struggles to cut jobs and spending at German factories and turn the page on dieselgate, Skoda's superior car reviews and profitability have intensified the brands' rivalry within the Volkswagen empire. VW now wants to reduce what it sees as Skoda's unfair advantages - combining German technology with cheaper labor - and reaffirm the top-selling brand's primacy ahead of a wave of new electric car launches, the sources said. The tussle between VW and Skoda is reviving tensions at the heart of the Volkswagen group between profits and jobs, and between central control and autonomy for its 12 vehicle brands. "Instead of devoting our efforts to beating Tesla, we may just be setting up a futile internal conflict," said one manager. Once the butt of jokes, Skoda has blossomed under 26 years of VW group ownership into a successful mid-market carmaker, steadily winning business from rivals - including VW - and surpassing even Audi's operating profit margin last year. At the same time, VW is facing thousands of job cuts as management moves to trim excess capacity at German factories. Its powerful domestic unions see Skoda's success as both a threat and a potential lifeline. VW workers' representatives are now demanding the transfer of some Skoda production to their underused German plants, a source close to the supervisory board told Reuters. The proposal aims to offset declining output of the VW Passat and aging Golf that could otherwise threaten more jobs. They are also making the case that Skoda should pay higher royalties to use VW's main common vehicle platform. The so-called MQB architecture also underpins mid-sized models from the group's Audi and SEAT brands. Responding to the news, Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka said he would meet Skoda management and unions to ask for clarification. The government will seek to ensure that VW investment plans are followed through and that "production is not moved outside the country," a statement released by Sobotka's office said. Skoda's main union warned that a production shift could cost as many as 2,000 jobs. VW's works council declined to comment.

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC

Sat, 22 Jun 2013

Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.

Jaguar Land Rover seeks to block U.S. imports of Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, VW SUVs

Fri, Nov 20 2020

You wouldn’t know it was about Jags and Lambos, to judge by its rather dry name: In the Matter of Certain Vehicle Control Systems. But thatÂ’s the complaint Jaguar Land Rover Automotive Plc filed on Thursday to block U.S. imports of Porsche, Lamborghini, Audi and Volkswagen sport utility vehicles it says are using its patented Terrain Response technology without permission. Jaguar Land Rover, a British carmaker owned by IndiaÂ’s Tata Motors Ltd., said in its filing with the U.S. International Trade Commission that the technology helps negotiate a “broad range of surfaces” and is a key feature in JaguarÂ’s F-Pace and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. “JLR seeks to protect itself and its United States operations from companies that have injected infringing products into the U.S. market that incorporate, without any license from JLR, technology developed by JLR and protected by its patent,” JaguarÂ’s lawyer, Matthew Moore, said in the filing. Representatives of Volkswagen didnÂ’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment on the complaint. Jaguar wants to block imports of PorscheÂ’s Cayenne; LamborghiniÂ’s Urus; AudiÂ’s Q8, Q7, Q5, A6 Allroad and e-tron vehicles; and VWÂ’s Tiguan vehicles. It said there are plenty of other luxury midsize SUV and compact crossover vehicles to meet consumer demand if the SUVs are banned from the U.S. Still, the premium Porsche and Audi lines provide much of the profit VW is using to fund its investments in technology for electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and further innovations. In addition to the four brands, Volkswagen Group owns other upscale nameplates, including Bentley and Bugatti. The International Trade Commission is an independent, quasi-judicial agency that investigates complaints of unfair trade practices, like patent infringement. It canÂ’t award damages but does have the power to block products from entering the U.S. Owners of patents and trade secrets like it because it can work faster than the federal district courts -- the typical investigation is completed in 15 to 18 months. But Jaguar also filed patent lawsuits against the companies in federal courts in Delaware and New Jersey, seeking cash compensation for the use of the technology. Those cases are likely to be put on hold once the trade commission launches its investigation. The case is In the Matter of Certain Vehicle Control Systems, 337-3508, U.S. International Trade Commission (Washington).
