Up for sale is my Jetta Sportwagen. As the title says, the car is a 2010, in Candy white, with a DSG transmission, and leather interior. I have owned the car since new, and have a clear title in hand. Below is a breakdown of the vehicle.
Located at: Hartsdale, NY Current mileage: 43,321 Accidents: None Options on car: Has panoramic sunroof, heated seats and windows (not sure if heated are standard), IPOD integration (older connection, but came like this with sticker), multi disc changer in dash, monster mats and trunk liner. Extras: Car will come with the rims pictured (denvers, the ones on the 2009 GTI, which fit excellent on the car). The rims are in excellent condition. Not pictured, are a set of Bioline rims (the ones that came with the car) with WS70 blizzaks, that will come with the car. The winters have been used for 1 season, still have the red dot on the sidewall. Also to be included are OEM roof cross rails, used a total of 3 times, brand new. Also included are 7 quarts of pennzoil for the new oil change. Maintenance: The 40k service was just performed, DSG fluid is fresh. Brake fluid was just change 500 miles ago, oil was changed 2k ago (oil change intervals for diesels is 10k miles), and brakes have 70% padding left. The bad: There is one small dent on the drivers side fender (happened when the car was driven from the dealer, drove to the super market, and had a cart hit the car). Other than this, there are no dents, mechanical problems, tears in the interior etc. Still has remaining factory warranty. |

VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
Jay Leno brings a rotary-powered VW Beetle to the garage
Mon, Aug 1 2016It takes something really unique or inventive to pique Jay Leno's interest. His show, Jay Leno's Garage, has featured everything from concours-worthy classics to completely custom, home-built machinery. How do you get Leno to feature one of more than 20 million Beetles on his program? Stick a turbocharged rotary engine under the hood. The Beetle's owner, Mario Markakis, swapped the car's stock flat four-cylinder for the Wankel engine from a 1990 Mazda RX-7 Series 5 Turbo. The engine's 250 horsepower are fed through a reinforced version of the Beetle's stock four-speed transmission. That's about five times the original engine's output. It works well, with the car putting down some impressive times at the drag strip. Markakis did most of the work to the Beetle in his garage. In addition to the engine swap, he's modified the car's brakes, suspension, and interior. Check out the video to hear all the details of this custom Wankel-powered Volkswagen.
